  • Recently, CV, CNCV, CNCV-W cable are used to transmit and distribute electric power. And a lot of researchers put more effort to realize high performance. The dielectric breakdown strength characteristic is a standard to design insulators. Examination of that is a main factor to determine long term insulation performance, which is used to diagnose Insulation deterioration. In this paper, we prepared XLPE, XLPE/nano-filler, LDPE/nano-filler for comparing each of the dielectric breakdown strength characteristics.

  • 국내 154kV XLPE 케이블 시스템은 장기운전에 따른 열화진단 및 유지보수의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 헌재 실선로 진단에 적용되고 있는 기술은 열화상 측정, 부분방전 검출 시스순환전류분석 및 저감기술등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 상기의 진단기술을 운전중인 154kV 실선로에 적용하여 결함을 검출한 사례를 기술하였다. 특히 부분방전 진단의 경우 접속함 내부에 존재하는 결함을 검출하여 사고를 미연에 방지한 것으로 사료된다.

  • 팰릿 형태의 XLPE (Cross-Linking Polyethylene)를 Hot Press로 시험편을 제작하여 열분석 데이터 처리장치를 이용하여 시차 주사 열량법 (differential scanning calorimetry, DSC)과 열 중량 분석 (Thermo gravimetric analysis, TGA) 등으로 열적 특성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, XLPE의 전이온도 피크는 $61^{\circ}C$, 용융온도에 해당하는 피크는 $102^{\circ}C$에서 나타났으며 XLPE의 TG 분석 결과 $470^{\circ}C$ 근처에서 한 번의 급격한 열중량 감소를 보였으며 $800^{\circ}C$까지 측정 후 잔류물은 완전 분해되어 거의 존재하지 않았음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 상용 XLPE 절연체에 ES(한전)의 장기과통전 시험 기준을 참고하여, 가속 열 열화 하였고, 열화 전/후의 절연특성을 비교하기 위하여 VLF(0.1Hz) 내전압 파괴시험을 수행하였다. 또한, 그 결과를 Weibull plot하여 절연특성을 통계적으로 비교 및 분석하였다.

  • In order to investigate the water tree degradation behavior on XLPE cable, direct voltage of 200 to 800V has been applied to the material at $50^{\circ}C\sim100^{\circ}C$. and the water tree property has been correlated with voltage and temperature in this study. The leakage current was shown to increase as temperature increased and the Ohm's law was generally satisfied in this experiment though some experimental errors were found. The leakage current was shown to decrease and reach to the stable state with time. It was also shown that the time for the stabilization of leakage current was lessened as voltage increased

  • In this paper, we developed HPF (high pass filter) consists of lumped LC components to decrease the noises that are detected in PD (partial discharge) measuring test, and adapted it to field test. We tested it under laboratory circumstances like the fields, and measured the phase change properties of detected signal in UHF sensor with Lemke Probe and oscilloscope (TDS-3054, Tektronix). As a result, we obtained available data showing the decrease of noises in the experiments with the developed HPF from the joint box of 22.9kV distribution line. The result can be adapted to prevent the degeneration of the XLPE power cable, and to observe and diagnosis the underground power transmission cable at the ultra-high voltage.

  • In this paper, the thermal analysis and dielectric/insulation properties were investigated with considering the temperature depenence Using the sheet of semi-conductor/XLPE came from 22 kV power cables, the dielectric/insulation properties and temperature dependence were measured under 1kHz. According to the results we can verify that only semi-conductor sheet changed linearly, and with the unstable results. the dielectric/insulation properties of the semi-conductor/XLPE sheet show the highest value in the range of 40 $^{\circ}C$ and 50 $^{\circ}C$ and are rely on XLPE rather than semi-conductor in terms of the temperature.

  • The purpose of termination for high voltage tests of XLPE power cable is to prevent flashover during the breakdown test of specimen as well as to withstand the specified voltage between its conductor and screen without failure. For easier treatment and simpler construction of testing termination, resistivity grading method using semi-conductive material was employed. Based on the fundamental theory, its failure characteristics by changing the resistivity of semi-conductive material on the insulation surface was investigated. With two layers construction by difference resistivity on their surfaces, much improved result than that of one resistivity was obtained through the experiment for MV cable.

  • The inhibiting effects of electrical treeing and insulation properties of LDPE contained with treeing inhibitors was studied under radiation environment. Barbituric acid and its derivatives were selected as treeing inhibitors. The inception voltage and growth of tree, AC breakdown strength, volume resistivity, high frequency capacitance, and dissipation factor were observed as a function of dose(up to 1000 kGy). And also, measurements of thermo-luminescence(TL), and gel content were carried out. Crosslinked low density polyethylene(XLPE) contained with treeing inhibitors shows better insulation characteristics such as electrical tree propagation, AC breakdown strength, and volume resistivity than those of pure LDPE. The most effective treeing inhibitor was found on the barbituric acid contained XLPE.

  • Silicone insulators have many advantages over porcelain insulators. Especially silicone insulators have good characteristics of impact hardness, surface insulation, ease of processing, mass productivity and don't have risk of bombardment and vandalism. Recently insulation part made by silicone are becoming widely used. In this paper we introduce the development of Sealing End for 132kV XLPE cable with silicone composite hollow insulator and the adoption of it to a actual transmission line in abroad. This paper contains of design procedure, structure, electrical performance of it.
