컴퓨터 기능의 발전과 가격의 하락은 컴퓨터를 이용한 통계그래픽을 과거에는 상상할 수 없을 정도로 발전시키고 여러사람이 손쉽게 쓸 수 있게 되었다. 화면 위에서 직접 자료조작과 그 결과의 순간적 출력으로 요약되는 다이나믹 그래픽의 기능을 최근에 개발된 통계패키지인 S-PLUS와 XLISP-STAT에서 비교하여 보았다. XLISP-STAT은 아주 간단한 프로그램으로 여러 다이나믹 그래픽기능을 수행할 수 있다. 아직 초기 단계에 있는 컴퓨터 통계그래픽에는 개선의 여지가 많고 새로운 방법을 창안할 수 있는 가능성도 있어 연구대상으로서도 그 전망이 매우 밝다고 생각된다.

본 논문에서 구축한 시스템은 서버에 설치된 통계패키지인 Xlisp-Stat을 이용하여 인터넷 상에서 통계분석과 통계 학습을 겸한 통계학습시스템이다. 이 시스템은 CGI 프로그램에 의하여 Xlisp-Stat과 웹 서버와의 인터페이스 모듈이 구현되었으며, 특히 통계분석 결과가 그래프인 경우에 브라우저에 출력이 가능한 GIF 이미지로 변환하여 실시간으로 학습자에게 전송하도록 설계하였다. 또한 학습 페이지는 기술통계를 중심으로 학습 내용을 구성하였으며, 학습 효과를 높이기 위하여 인지적지연 시간을 최소화하도록 설계하였다.

본 논문에서는 멀티미디어를 활용한 회귀분석 학습시스템 CybeRClass(Cyber Regression Class)를 소개하고자 한다. CybeRClass는 음성정보와 애니메이션 등을 활용하여 회귀분석에 대한 학습을 시켜주는 시스템이다. 이 시스템은 군집분석이나 판별분석 등의 다변량분석 학습이 가능하도록 설계되었다. 멀티미디어 기술을 위한 도구로는 Multimedia ToolBook을 사용하였으며, 통계계산과 통계그라픽을 위해서는 객체지향 통계 언어인 Xlisp-Stat을 사용하였다.

본 논문에서는 인터넷 상에서 통계 그래픽을 서버에서 처리하는 방법에 대하여 연구하고자 한다. 이 방법은 서버와 통계 패키지와의 인터페이스를 통하여 서버에서 Xlisp-Stat이 생성한 통계 그래픽을 브라우저가 표현할 수 있는 이미지로 변환하여 클라이언트에 전송하는 방법으로서 C언어를 사용하여 CGI 프로그램을 구현하였다.

In this paper, we Present the implementation of statistical process control software by using XLISP-STAT which is a kind of object oriented language under Windows environment. This software can be used to generate the graphic objects for various control charts, histogram and plots using the full-down menu system. This software can also be used to calculate control limits, process capability indices and test procedures for normality.

Graphical methods for the specification of the curvature as a function of two predictors are animated to see the effect of an added variable to the model. Through a 3D animated plot it might be difficult to find a sequence of interpretable plots. But examples demonstrate that useful information can be obtained by using rotation technique in 3D plot. Besides 3D plots, an example of 2D animated plot applied to the case of high correlation between predictors and an added predictor is also given. It implies that speed of the convergence to a certain image in a dynamic plot may be understood as an influence of collinearity.
