인터넷 표준 문서인 XML(Extensible Markup Language)이 구조적인 내용만을 갖고 있기 때문에 문서를 보여주기 위한 표현 정보를 포함하는 스타일 시트(style sheets)가 필요하다. 이를 위해 W3C(World Wide Web Consortium)에서는 XML 문서의 구조적인 접근을 위한 XPath(XML Path Language)와 문서의 내용구조를 변환하기 위한 XSLT (Transformations), 그리고 포맷팅 정보를 위한 XSL-fo(XSL Formatting objects)로 구성되는 XSL(Extensible Stylesheet Language)를 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 XML 문서와 XSL 스타일 시트를 이용하여 XML 문서의 데이터를 변환하고 XSL-fo 정보를 이용하여 결과 FO(Formatting Objects)를 생성한다. 또한 트리로 구성된 결과 FO에서 페이지 정보와 FOT (Formatting Objects Tree)를 추출하는 FOT 생성부를 두었고, 디스플레이 관리기와 포맷팅 모듈 객체 관리기를 두어 FOT를 포맷팅을 위한 모듈로 저장하고 디스플레이 해주는 포맷팅 처리 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.

In restricted resources based on mobile environment, we can use an embedded database technology for management of MPEG-7 data. At this time, some XML clustering methods can be used. But, to improve the performance efficiency better, a new clustering method is need to store effective MPEG-7 document. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a MPEG-7 document management system to store MPEG-7 document effectively in mobile device such as PDA. The system used the 버클리 DB XML as a native embedded XML database system based on the clustering method of MPEG-7 data.

사실 표준 XQL(XML Query Language) 기반의 문서 질의를 이용하여 XML 문서에 대한 구조 검색과 내용 검색을 위한 문서검색 시스템을 구성하였다. 즉 XML 문서를 파징하여 내용 및 구조 정보를 트리구조로 구성하고, 표준 XQL을 이용하여 트리 구조 정보에 질의함으로서 구조 및 내용 검색을 하도록 구현하였다. 이를 이용한 응용분야로는 향후 방대한 크기의 XML문서 검색과 문서 관리, 전자 상거래 등 다양한 분야에 활용될 수 있는 요소기술로서 기대된다.

XML 문서의 폭발적인 확산에 따라 Web상의 각 사이트는 XML 문서를 분산 저장하여 관리하고 있다. 그리고 XML 문서들 간에는 다양한 링크를 통해 관련된 정보를 참조할 수 있다. 그러나 현재까지 XML과 관련하여, 링크를 지원하는 질의어 개발이나 링크를 활용한 XML 검색 시스템 개발에 대한 연구는 미비하다. 본 논문에서는, 실제 Web상에 분산되어 저장된 전자 문서들 중 하이퍼링크로 연결된 XML 문서들을 대상으로, 링크를 지원하기 위해 기존 XML 질의어를 확장에 대해 연구하였다. 이를 위해 XML 링크를 지원하는 질의의 유형을 분류하고, 링크를 지원하기 위한 XML 질의어의 확장에 대해 기술한다. 그리고 링크를 활용한 XML 질의 처리 방안에 대해 기술한다.

Recently, to overcome the limit of keyword based retrieval system, the study based structured document has been studied. But it is hard for structured retrieval system to adapt a real service, in this paper, we propose a method of retrieval mechanism for the fulltext of XML documents. We explain DTD of XML based report, extracting navigation information and planing to adapt the retrieval system for article retrieval. Using the fulttext retrieval scheme, suggested system can be an alternative plan of professional structured based retrieval system.

In this paper, we design and implement a XML document retrieval system to support structure-based retrieval using the BRS/Search system that is a commercial search engine, The implemented system in this paper represents the logical structure of XML documents as the directory structure of the Unix file system. In addition, we define the database schema of BRS/Search system to store documents, We also implement a ETID extractor, a structure information extractor, a storage manager and a query processor additionally to support content retrieval, structure retrieval, mixed retrieval and attribute retrieval in the BRS/Search system.

최근 컴퓨팅 환경은 인터넷 환경의 웹을 기반으로 한 분산 컴퓨팅 환경으로 변화하고 있다. 그에 따라 XML 문서의 사용과 XML 문서의 양이 급속하게 증가하였으며, 언제라도 쉽게 필요한 XML 문서에 접근할 수 있어야 한다. XML 문서에서 정보를 검색하기 위하여 XPath 질의어가 널리 사용 중이며, XML 저장 기법과 XPath를 이용한 질의 처리에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 분산 객체 관계 데이터베이스 시스템을 이용하여 XML 문서를 저장하고 관리하는 시스템을 설계하였으며 분산된 XML 데이터를 접근할 수 있도록 하기 위해 XPath를 분산 SQL로 변환하여 실행하는 분산 XPath 질의 처리기를 설계 및 구현하였다.

Even the document resources offered from web server can be represented in the form of URL/URI, it can not necessarily be guaranteed that corresponding resources exist due to a dynamic change of sewer environment In this paper, integrated document administration system is therefore proposed and modeled using the XML-RPC technology which guarantees the reliance of resources, and handles a dynamic server resource management and request of clients. The proposed system is composed of middleware and server systems. The former system manages dynamic server resources, and the latter reports the updated information of documentations stored in server by client from the server to middleware system. As a result, effective storing management of dynamic resource in distributed server could be archived and building cost of a new web server could be reduced due to an applicability to current web sewer. In addition platform independent and efficient data management was obtained by using the XML-RPC protocol.

XML 문서를 관계형 데이타베이스에 저장하는 것은 관계형 데이타베이스 관리 시스템이 제공하는 안정성과 질의 능력을 활용하고자 하는 것이 주된 요인이다. 관계형 데이타베이스는 2차원의 테이블 구조를 저장하고 응용하는 것에 특화되어 있으므로 XML 문서에 표현되어 있는 계층적 구조, 중첩 구조 등 이질적인 요소들을 관계형 데이타베이스에 반영하는 모델링 방법으로 현재가지 완벽하게 실용화된 것은 없다. 본 논문은 XML 문서를 관계형 데이타베이스에 저장하기 위한 스키마 구조를 제안하고 XML 문서를 바다 -II에 저장, 검색, 재구성만 구현 결과를 제시한다.

현재 XML은 전자상거래와 기업간 정보유통 및 전사적 기업 관리 시스템에 주로 적용되고 있으며 이를 위해서 XML 데이터를 효율적으로 처리할 수 있는 XML DBMS 관련 제품들이 시장에 빠르게 구현되고 있다. 이러한 XML 문서의 이용은 Mobile 환경으로 이동하면서 온라인 비즈니스와 동일한 환경 구축을 위해 모바일 비즈니스에서의 사용범위가 확대되어 가고 있으며, 많은 XML 문서의 효율적 관리를 위해서 모바일 전용의 DBMS에 XML 문서의 저장이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문은 이동 단말기에 XML 문서를 저장하기 위한 XML DBMS를 개발하였다. 기존의 모바일 DBMS에 대해 XML Adapter를 탑재하여 이동 단말기에 직접 XML 문서를 저장할 수 있도록 함으로써 표준 언어인 XML 문서의 활용을 극대화 하도록 하였으며, 이에 따라 기존의 Mobile DBMS를 이용하여 XML 데이터를 쉽게 조작할 수 있고, 이동 단말기에 대한 활용도를 극대화 할 수 있다.
