We developed a high-resolution micro-CT system based on rotational gantry and flat-panel detector for live mouse imaging. This system is composed primarily of an x-ray source with micro-focal spot size, a CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) flat panel detector coupled with Csl (TI) (thallium-doped cesium iodide) scintillator, a linearly moving couch, a rotational gantry coupled with positioning encoder, and a parallel processing system for image data. This system was designed to be of the gantry-rotation type which has several advantages in obtaining CT images of live mice, namely, the relative ease of minimizing the motion artifact of the mice and the capability of administering respiratory anesthesia during scanning. We evaluated the spatial resolution, image contrast, and uniformity of the CT system using CT phantoms. As the results, the spatial resolution of the system was approximately the 11.3 cycles/mm at 10% of the MTF curve, and the radiation dose to the mice was 81.5 mGy. The minimal resolving contrast was found to be less than 46 CT numbers on low-contrast phantom imaging test. We found that the image non-uniformity was approximately 70 CT numbers at a voxel size of ${\sim}55{\times}55{\times}X100\;{\mu}^3$. We present the image test results of the skull and lung, and body of the live mice.

To revise the dithiocarbamates residue analysis method and survey the residues in agricultural products that were treated with these fungicides in Korea, we purchased 20 types of foodstuffs (rice, potato, cabbage, apple etc.) from markets in five major cities. 236 samples of the purchased foodstuffs were then analyzed for the presence of dithiocarbamates by HPLC/UV and HPLC/APCI-MS. The $R^2$, LOD and LOQ in the range of 0.5-107.3 mg/L were as follows: DCC: y=174.34x+18.315, $R^2=0.9999$, 0.01 mg/L, and 0.04 mg/L; EBDC: y=227.38x-14.715, $R^2=1.0000$, 0.01 mg/L and 0.02 mg/L; PBDC: y=38.46x-21.412, $R^2=0.9999$, 0.04 mg/L, and 0.1 mg/L; ETU: y=52.752x-4.4819, $R^2=0.9998$, 0.02 mg/L and 0.03 mg/L; PTU: y=128.28x+4.4624, $R^2=0.9998$, 0.02 mg/L, and 0.04 mg/L. The levels of DDC, EBDC, PBDC, ETU and PTU in 20 agricultural products fortified to 10.0-107.3 mg/L ranged from 61.7-117.5%, 65.3-110.1%, 61.5-109.6%, 69.3-116.3% and 70.2-97.2%, respectively. Overall, dithiocarbamates were detected in 100 samples and the detection ratio was 42.4%. Among these, only 3 samples (1.3%) of Lycii fructus had residue levels that were above the action limits, while the remaining samples (233 samples) contained levels of dithiocarbamates below the detection limit or below the Korea MRLs (Maximum Residue Limits).

Response surface methodology (RSM) is frequently used for optimization studies. In the present work, RSM was used to determine the antimicrobial activitiesof grapefruit seed extract (GFSE) and a lactic acid mixture (LA) against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Pseudomonas fluorescens, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus. A central composite design was used to investigate the effects of independent variables on dependent parameters. One set of antimicrobial preparations included mixtures of 1% (w/w) GFSE and 10% (w/w) LA, in which the relative proportions of component antimicrobials varied between 0 and 100%. In further experiments, the relative proportions were between 20% and 100%. Antimicrobial effects against various microorganisms were mathematically encoded for analysis. The codes are given in parentheses after the bacterial names, and were S. aureus ($Y_1$), B. cereus ($Y_2$), E. coli ($Y_3$), S. typhimurium ($Y_4$), P. fluorescens ($Y_5$), and V. parahaemolyticus ($Y_6$). The optimum antimicrobial activity of the 1% (w/w) GFSE:10% (w/w) LA mixture against each microorganism was obtained by superimposing contour plots ofantimicrobial activities on measures of response obtained under various conditions. The optimum rangesfor maximum antimicrobial activity of a mixture with a ratio of 1:10 (by weight) GFSE and LA were 35.73:64.27 and 56.58:43.42 (v/v), and the optimum mixture ratio was 51.70-100%. Under the tested conditions (a ratio of 1% [w/w] GFSE to 10% [w/w] LA of 40:60, and a concentration of 1% [w/w] GFSE and 10% [w/w] LA, 70% of the highest value tested), and within optimum antimicrobial activity ranges, the antimicrobial activities of the 1% (w/w) GFSE:10% (w/w) LA mixture against S. aureus ($Y_1$), B. cereus ($Y_2$), E. coli ($Y_3$), S. typhimurium ($Y_4$), P. fluorescens ($Y_5$), and V. parahaemolyticus ($Y_6$) were 24.55, 25.22, 20.20, 22.49, 23.89, and 28.04 mm, respectively. The predicted values at optimum conditions were similar to experimental values.

In this paper, we have investigated the sintering of the organometallic silver electronic ink. We have changed the sintering temperature from 100 to $300^{\circ}C$ in the various atmospheres. The sheet resistance was abruptly changed at the temperature range between 115 and $120^{\circ}C$, due to the f of the crystalline silver resulting from the dissociation of Ag complex, which phenomenon has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The grain sizes of Ag films were about 50nm and 70nm at the sintering temperatures of 115 and $150^{\circ}C$, respectively.

We have fabricated MIM capacitors for MMIC applications, with capacitances as high as 600pF/$\textrm{mm}^2$ and excellent electrical properties of the insulator layer. Silicon nitride thin film is the desirable material for MMIC capacitor fabrication. Standard MIM capacitance in MMIC is 300pF/$\textrm{mm}^2$ with an insulator layer thickness of more than 2000$\AA$. However, capacitors with thin insulator layers have breakdown voltages as low as 20V. We have deposited insulator layers by PECVD in our MIM structure with an air bridge between the top metal and the contact pad. The PECVD process was optimized for fabricating the desired capacitors to be used in MMIC. Silicon nitride(Si$_{x}$N$_{y}$) thin films of about 1000$\AA$ thick show capacitances of about 600pF/$\textrm{mm}^2$, and breakdown voltages above 70V at 100nA.A.A.
The efficient breakwater design requires a knowledge of the behaviour of the waves passing the breakwater. Wave Diffraction is an important factor and phenomeon in this behaviour. The diffraction ocean waves entering a gap in a breakwater normal to the incident wave direction in water of uniform depth has been investigated, applying a solution previously given in the author's paper, based on the theory of light diffraction by Sommerfeld. The wave profiles and heights on both the leeward side of the breakwater and the gap side have been studied and summarized in the form of diagrams with diffraction coefficients in range of x/L, y/L 0∼100, b/L=0.5∼12, with some extension of the diagrams made previously. The results of the theoretical approaches have not been experimentally verified. The theory ad computation methods with computer program in Fortran IV developed in this study make an efficient use for estimating the diffraction about a breakwater gap.

A new Zn/O single source precursor, TMEDA-Zn$(eacac)_2$, has been synthesized by using N, N, N’, N’-tetramethylethylendiamine (TMEDA), sodium ethyl-acetoacetate, and $ZnCl_2$. From this organometallic precursor, ZnO thin films have been successfully grown on Si (100) substrates through the metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) method at relatively mild conditions in the temperature range of 390~430 ${^{\circ}C}$. The synthesized ZnO films have been found to possess average grain sizes of about 70 nm with an orientation along the c-axis. The precursor and ZnO films are characterized through infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, EI-FAB-spectroscopy, elemental analyses, thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, and field emission scanning electron microscopic analyses.
Morphology of low density polyethylene(LDPE) such as the degree of crystallinity changes with thermal history etc. In order to clarify the effects of morphological changes on electrical breakdown, we studied direct current and impulse breakdown phenomena of LDPE films heat-treated at 100[$^{\circ}C$] for 1[H] in silicone oil and subsequently cooling to various ways. The degree of crystallinity was estimated by the infra red absorption and X-ray diffraction measurements for the specimens of slowly cooled, cooled in water, original, and cooled in liquid nitrogen gas. As the result, we obtained that the first, second, third, and fourth was slowly cooled of 70.23[%], cooled in water of 61.6[%], original specimen of 56.75[%], and cooled in liquid nitrogen gas of 34.7[%] respectively. The crystalline size and distribution of specimens were researched by Differential scanning calolimeter measurements.
Thermally-evaporated 10 nm-Ni/1 nm-Ru/(30 nm or 70 nm-poly)Si structures were fabricated in order to investigate the thermal stability of Ru-inserted nickel monosilicide. The silicide samples underwent rapid thermal anne aling at $300{\sim}1,100^{\circ}C$ for 40 seconds. Silicides suitable for the salicide process were formed on the top of the single crystal and polycrystalline silicon substrates mimicking actives and gates. The sheet resistance was measured using a four-point probe. High resolution X-ray diffraction and Auger depth profiling were used for phase and chemical composition analysis, respectively. Transmission electron microscope and scanning probe microscope(SPM) were used to determine the cross-sectional structure and surface roughness. The silicide, which formed on single crystal silicon and 30 nm polysilicon substrate, could defer the transformation of $Ni_2Si $i and $NiSi_2 $, and was stable at temperatures up to $1,100^{\circ}C$ and $1,100^{\circ}C$, respectively. Regarding microstructure, the nano-size NiSi preferred phase was observed on single crystalline Si substrate, and agglomerate phase was shown on 30 nm-thick polycrystalline Si substrate, respectively. The silicide, formed on 70 nm polysilicon substrate, showed high resistance at temperatures >$700^{\circ}C$ caused by mixed microstructure. Through SPM analysis, we confirmed that the surface roughness increased abruptly on single crystal Si substrate while not changed on polycrystalline substrate. The Ru-inserted nickel monosilicide could maintain a low resistance in wide temperature range and is considered suitable for the nano-thick silicide process.
