  • This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of the feeding value for the wild legumes silage-making with additives. The chopped Kudzu (Puerarie thunbergii Bentham) of wild legumes was ensiled by the conventional method in the small experimental silo of 2 liters. The additives used in the present experiments were water (8%),water (8%) plus corn starch (3%) and water (8%) plus glucose (3%). These additives as well as that of control without additive were set up and these silage were compared with the conventional corn silage. The fermentative qualities and the characteristic of fiber (neutral detergent fiber, NDF; acid detergent fiber, ADF; acid detergent lignin, ADL) of silage produced was determined by chemical analysis, and dry matter digestibility (DMD) was evaluated by pepsin-cellulase technique. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1 The weight of Kudzu silage was lost under the 10% for all the treatments. 2 In degree of pH for the Kudzu silages with glucose, starch, control and water treatments were high 3.80,4.04,4.57 and 5.34, respectively.

키토산 처리 콩나물의 성장 중 당 및 유리아미노산의 함량변화

  • 키토산처리 콩나물에서 발아율이 높고 배축의 신장도가 높은 현상을 조사하기 위하여 전보에서와 동일한 방법으로 콩에 0.05% 키토산(493kDa, 금호화성, 한국)을 함유하는 0.05% 초산 용액 4배량을 가하여 8시간 침지한 후 2$0^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 간격으로 5일간 주수하면서 콩나물, 자엽, 배축으로 구분하여 전당, 환원당, 비환원당 및 유리아미노산의 함량변화를 조사하였다. 콩나물의 전당은 대조구, 키토산 처리구가 모두 성장에 따라 감소하였는데 대조구(1196$\longrightarrow$820 mg/100 g-f.w)보다 처리구(1241$\longrightarrow$670 mg/100 g-f.w)에서의 감소율이 높았다. 자엽의 전당함량은 성장에 따라 감소하였으며 키토산 처리구에서 현저하였고, 배축에서는 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 환원당 함량은 콩나물의 성장에 따라 감소하였으며 키토산 처리에 따른 뚜렷한 차이가 없었다. 그러나 자엽에서는 성장에 따라 감소하였으며 감소경향은 키토산처리구에서 높았다. 키토산 처리구에서 전당과 환원당의 감소율이 대조구보다 높은 현상은 키토산 처리에 의하여 생체 대사가 보다 활성화되기 때문이라 생각되며, 키토산처리에 의하여 발아율이 높고, 배축의 신장도가 높은 현상과 관련이 있는 것으로 판단된다. 유리아미노산은 재배 5일째 자엽과 배축의 유리아미노산 함량을 분석한 결과 aspartic acid의 함량이 가장 많았으며, 대조구의 경우 자엽에서는 25.4 mg/100 g-f.w, 배축에서는 88.2 mg/100 g-f.w이었다. 키토산처리구의 경우는 자엽에서는 23.12 mg/100 g-f.w, 배축에서는 120.18 mg/100 g-f.w이었다.높은 항 곰팡이 활성을 나타내었다. 이 외에도 황련의 물 추출물은 M. miehei 균주에서 우수한 항 곰팡이 활성을 나타내었다. 생약재의 70% Ethanol추출물을 농도별로 제조하여 항 곰팡이 활성을 살펴 본 결과, 70% ethanol추출물에서는 계피와 파고지, 초두구, 황련이 항 곰팡이 활성이 우수하였으며, 특히 계피의 70% ethanol 추출물에서는 5가지 균종에서 모두 우수한 항 곰팡이 활성이 나타났다. 균을 제외한 5가지 균종에서 높은 항균 활성을 보였으며, 이외에 생약재는 강황, 석곡, 황련, 호장근의 70% ethanol 추출물은 4가지의 균주에 대해서 항균 활성을 나타내었다. 또한 파고지, 오미자의 70% ethanol 추출물은 3가지 균주에 대해서 항균활성을 나타냈으며, 천궁, 육두구, 오수유, 갈근, 계피, 가시오가피의 70% ethanol 추출물은 2가지 균주에 대해 항균 활성을 나타내었다. 항균활성이 우수한 생약재를 농도별로 활성을 조사한 결과, 물 추출물과 10% Ethanol 추출물 모두 낮은 농도에서도 우수한 항균활성을 나타내었다.취와 함께 점질성 갈변물질이 생성되었다. 이와 같은 결과로 볼 때, BAAG의 처리는 BAAC의 경우보다 가격은 저렴하면서도 항균력은 우수한 천연 항균복합제재로써 농산물 식품원료에 적용하여 선도유지 기간을 연장할 수 있는 효과를 기대할 수 있었다. 과일 등의 포장제로서 이용할 가능성을 확인하였다.로 [-wh] 겹의문사는 복수 의미를 지닐 수 없 다. 그러면 단수 의미는 어떻게 생성되는가\ulcorner 본 논문에서는 표면적 형태에도 불구하고 [-wh]의미의 겹의문사는 병렬적 관계의 합성어가 아니라 내부구조를 지니지 않은 단순한 단어(minimal $X^{0}$ elemen

A Simple Method for Sporangial Formation of the Rice Downy Mildew Pathogen, Sclerophthora macrospora

  • A simple method for sporangial formation of the rice downy mildew pathogen, Sclerophthora macrospora, on infected leaf tissues was developed to facilitate diagnosis of the disease. Freshly infected young leaves showing whitish to yellowish small spots were selected and cut into small pieces about 2-3 cm in length. About 10-20 pieces were surface sterilized in a 100 ml Duran bottle with 40 ml of 70% ethanol by vigorous shaking for 30 seconds. After washing three times with distilled water, the leaf cuts were submerged in 10 ml of Millipore-filtered paddy water and incubated at $20^{\circ}C$ in the dark. After 8-10 h of incubation, the bottle was vigorously agitated on a vortex mixer, Aliquot amount of the suspension, 0.1-1.0 m1, was spread on a slide glass and examined under a light microscope at 50 or 100x magnification. It was found that light and 1% NaClO strongly inhibit sporangial formation of S. macrospora. Meanwhile, the use of freshly infected young loaves and washing with 70% ethanol stimulated sporangial formation of the fungus on rice leaves.

Evaluation of Tungsten Blended Filament Shields Made by 3D Printer in Radiography (일반촬영분야에서의 3D 프린터로 제작한 텅스텐 혼합 필라멘트 차폐체의 성능평가)

  • In the medical field, radiation provides information for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. As the use of radiation increases and the risk of exposure increases, interest in radiation protection is also rapidly increasing. Lead shielding material is mainly used, which has a risk of lead poisoning and absorption into the body. Tungsten mixed filament shielding sheets were fabricated with a size of 70 × 70 mm and a thickness of 1, 2, and 4 mm by using a 3D printer. In the general shooting experiment, the thickness of the shielding sheet is 1 ~ 5mm, the tube voltage is 60, 80, 100, 120 kVp and the tube current is 20, 40 mAs. In general photography, Tungsten showed better shielding rate compared to Brass, Copper, and Lead protective tools under all irradiation conditions, and in particular, Tungsten 5 mm showed 100% shielding rate. The 3D-printed tungsten mixed filament shielding is expected to be used as a new shield that can replace the existing lead protection tools as it shows a better shielding rate than the existing lead protection tools in Radiography.

A Comparative Study on Absolute and Relative Clay Mineral Composition of the Surface Sediments around the Jeju Island (제주도 주변해역 표층퇴적물의 점토광물 절대함량 및 상대함량 비교연구)

  • The absolute clay mineral compositions and regional distribution of the 131 bulk marine surface sediments around the Jeju Island was compared to their relative compositions and distribution using quantitative X-ray diffraction analysis. Average absolute clay mineral composition is illite 15.3% (0.5~40.5%), chlorite 2.6% (0~7.9%), and kaolinite 1% (0~5.6%). Total contents of the clay minerals are very high in the South Sea of Korea, northwestern part and southern offshore of Jeju Island. The average relative composition is illite 70.9% (16.7~89%), chlorite 21.5% (8.4~68.5%), and kaolinite 7.6% (0~29.3%). Relative illite contents are high in the northwestern and southeastern part of study area, and southern part of Jeju Island. Chlorite contents are high in the eastern part of study area and western part of Jeju Island. Kaolinite contents are high in the western and southern part of Jeju Island, and southern offshore of Jeju Isand. Absolute Distribution patterns are very similar to those of fine-grained (from clay to silt) sediment, whereas relative distribution patterns do not show any relationship with those of fine-grained sediment.

A Study on the Usefulness of Copper Filters Made with 3D Printers in Longbone Examination Using Long Length Detector (장골 검출기를 이용한 장골 검사에서 3D 프린터로 제작한 구리 필터의 유용성 연구)

  • Long-bone examination is mainly used for inspection of the lower extremities. Recently, a long length detector (FXRD-1751S, VIEWORKS, Korea) with three digital detectors attached has been developed. High energy X-rays are used because pelvic areas require high image quality. In this case, X-rays are transmitted a lot in thin areas such as an ankle, and it is not suitable for diagnosing an image. Therefore, this study use copper filters made with 3D printers to increase image quality in the Long-bone inspection. A copper filter was manufactured in consideration of the overall thickness of the lower part. The experiment was conducted in anterior-posterior (AP) and lateral (LAT) positions, depending on the presence or absence of the filter. 5x5 pixels of region of interest (ROI) were selected from the pelvis, knee, and ankle areas. X-rays were irradiated under the conditions of 70 kVp and 40 mAs for AP, 80 kVp, and 63 mAs for lat when without filters, 90 kVp and 80 mAs for AP, 90 kVp and 100 mAs for lat when with filters. signal to noise ratio(SNR) ratio and contrast to noise (CNR) values were measured 1106.38, 14.34 before applying the filter and 1189.32, 70.43 after the filter. For the knee area, 650.44, 97.61 before applying the filter, and 1013.17, 444.24 after applying the filter. For the ankle area, 206.65, 23.68 before applying the filter and 993.50, 136.11 after applying the filter. In the Long-bone examination, SNR and CNR were greatly measured when the filter was applied, confirmed the availability of using the copper additional filter.

PRODUCTION FROM FINE WOOL SHEEP IN THREE AREAS IN NORTHERN CHINA

  • The seasonal changes in production, the systems of management and the seasonal climatic and feeding conditions are described for three farms representative of the major areas for growing fine-wool sheep in northern China. At all farms, summer and autumn were seasons of rapid liveweight gain and wool growth. In the winter and spring, during lactation, liveweight declined wool growth decreased by approximately 70%, and fibre diameter by 4 to 8 microns. The wool produced was characterized by a very low clean wool yield (39-51%). Greasy fleece weights ranged from 4.5 to 8.0 kg and average diameter of wool fibres from 20.5 to 23 microns. The number of lambs born per 100 ewes mated ranged from 79 to 95, lamb weights ranged from 3.8 to 4.5 kg, and weaning weights ranged from 17 to 25 kg. Overall, the patterns of sheep production were similar to those found in seasonally arid environments (such as in the mediterranean climatic zone). Yield of clean wool and therefore clean fleece weights were far below those in most other fine-wool producing areas of the world.

  • One of the important topics to prepare the up-coming era of so-called ‘hydrogen economy’ is hydrogen transmission. Pipeline is conceivably the most economic way to consistently and safely transport a large amount of hydrogen over a long distance, which may be strongly requested in hydrogen economy era. As a good starting point for the purpose, one might wonder whether conventional API pipeline steels as designed for natural gas transmission can be used as the hydrogen pipeline materials or not. To answer the question, here we performed a series of micro-/nano-indentations together with tensile tests on the hydrogen-charged API X65, X70 and X100 steels having different strength level. In this paper, from the results of tensile tests, the hydrogen effects on the mechanical behavior in the API steels are systematically evaluated.

Optimization of Parallel Code for Noise Prediction in an Axial Fan Using MPI One-Sided Communication (MPI 일방향통신을 이용한 축류 팬 주위 소음해석 병렬프로그램 최적화)

  • Recently, noise reduction in an axial fan producing the small pressure rise and large flow rate, which is one type of turbomachine, is recognized as essential. This study describes the design and optimization techniques of MPI parallel program to simulate the flow-induced noise in the axial fan. In order to simulate the code using 100 million number of grids for flow and 70,000 points for noise sources, we parallelize it using the 2D domain decomposition. However, when it is involved many computing cores, it is getting slower because of MPI communication overhead among nodes, especially for the noise simulation. Thus, it is adopted the one-sided communication to reduce the overhead of MPI communication. Moreover, the allocated memory and communication between cores are optimized, thereby improving 2.97x compared to the original one. Finally, it is achieved 12x and 6x faster using 6,144 and 128 computing cores of KISTI Tachyon2 than using 256 and 16 computing cores for the flow and noise simulations, respectively.

Comparison of Machine Learning Classification Models for the Development of Simulators for General X-ray Examination Education (일반엑스선검사 교육용 시뮬레이터 개발을 위한 기계학습 분류모델 비교)

  • In this study, the applicability of machine learning for the development of a simulator for general X-ray examination education is evaluated. To this end, k-nearest neighbor(kNN), support vector machine(SVM) and neural network(NN) classification models are analyzed to present the most suitable model by analyzing the results. Image data was obtained by taking 100 photos each corresponding to Posterior anterior(PA), Posterior anterior oblique(Obl), Lateral(Lat), Fan lateral(Fan lat). 70% of the acquired 400 image data were used as training sets for learning machine learning models and 30% were used as test sets for evaluation. and prediction model was constructed for right-handed PA, Obl, Lat, Fan lat image classification. Based on the data set, after constructing the classification model using the kNN, SVM, and NN models, each model was compared through an error matrix. As a result of the evaluation, the accuracy of kNN was 0.967 area under curve(AUC) was 0.993, and the accuracy of SVM was 0.992 AUC was 1.000. The accuracy of NN was 0.992 and AUC was 0.999, which was slightly lower in kNN, but all three models recorded high accuracy and AUC. In this study, right-handed PA, Obl, Lat, Fan lat images were classified and predicted using the machine learning classification models, kNN, SVM, and NN models. The prediction showed that SVM and NN were the same at 0.992, and AUC was similar at 1.000 and 0.999, indicating that both models showed high predictive power and were applicable to educational simulators.
