Study of Nonstoichiometry and Physical Properties of the Mixed Valency $Sr_xEu_{1-x}FeO_{3-y}$ ($0.00{\leq}x{\leq}$1.00) System (혼합원자가 $Sr_xEu_{1-x}FeO_{3-y}$ ($0.00{\leq}x{\leq}$1.00)계의 비화학량론과 물성 연구)

  • A series of samples of solid solutions in the $Sr_xEu_{1-x}FeO_{3-y}(0.00{\leq}x{\leq}1.00)$ system has been prepared at $1200^{\circ}C$ under an atmospheric air pressure. The structures of solid solutions are studied by X-ray diffraction, thermal, Mohr salt, and Mossbauer spectroscopic analyses. Their physical properties are also discussed with the electrical conductivities. X-ray diffraction data for the compositions of x = 0.00, 0.25, and 1.00 are assigned to the orthorhombic and the compositions of x = 0.50 and 0.75 to the cubic systems. The lattice volume reduced to cubic cell increases with the x value. The mole ratio of $Fe^{4+}$ iometric chemical formulas of the system are formulated from the x, $\tau$, and y values. The mixed valency state of Fe ions, the oxygen coordination, and covalent bond character are discussed with the Mossbauer spectroscopic data. The activation enegy of the electrical conductivities depends on the $\tau$ value in the temperature range of -$100^{\circ}C$ to $600\circC$ under the air pressure. The Mossbauer spectrum and electrical conductivity of the solid solutions are discussed with nonstoichiometric chemical compositions.

  • Crystal structure of Bis(ethylenediamine)palladium(II)-Bis(oxalato)palladate(II0 has been determined by X-ray crystallography. Crystal data : (Pd(C2H8N2)2.Pd(C2O4)2), Fw=509.04, Monocline, Space Group P21/c (no=14), a=6.959(2), b=13.506(2), c=15.339(2) Å, β=99.94(3), Z=4, V=1420 Å3, Dc=2.380 gcm-3, μ=25.46cm-1, F(000)=992. The intensity data were collected with Mo-Kα radiation (λ=0.7107 Å) on an automatic four-circle diffractometer with a graphite monochromater. The structure was solved by Patterson method and refined by full matrix least-square methods using unit weights. The final R and S values were R=0.021, Rw=0.030, Rall=0.032 abd S=2.1 for 1472 observed reflections. The essentially planar complex anions form diade of interplanar distances of 3.41 Å and their diads are stacked along aaxis with interplanar separation of 3.44 Å.

A Study on the Highest Exposure Temperatures of Exposed Reinforced Concrete Structures at Fire (화재에 노출된 철근콘크리트 구조물의 최고노출온도 추정을 위한 연구)

  • In this paper, Machinery analysis was conducted, in order to predict highest exposure temperatures and the analyze fire damage in the case of fire on reinforced concrete structure. After analyzing differential thermal of reference materials in accordance with temperature of concrete reference core specimen, it turned out that powerful endothermic peak came resulting from evaporation of capillary water and get water untill $200^{\circ}C$, another endothermic peak came resulting from decomposition of calcium hydroxide at $520^{\circ}C$, and then mass of reference materials remarkably decreased due to endothermic reaction. Another powerful endothermic reaction came after decomposition of calcite at $720^{\circ}C$. After analyzing X-ray diffraction of reference materials in accordance with temperature of concrete reference core specimen, it turned out that calcium hydroxide existed until the temperature of $400^{\circ}C$, but CH almost disappeared and CaO appeared from $600^{\circ}C$. The production increased in proportion to the temperature. This is because that calcium hydroxide and calcite are decomposed and CaO is produced when the temperature of concrete increases with fire. It is estimated that calcium hydroxide and calcite are utterly decomposed and peak disappears, and peak of CaO is remarkably formed instead, at the temperature of $700-800^{\circ}C$.

Mossbauer study of $CoCr_xFe_{2-x}O_4$ (Mossbauer 분광법에 의한 $CoCr_xFe_{2-x}O_4$의 연구)

  • CoCr$_{x}$ Fe$_{2-x}$O$_4$(0.0$\leq$x$\leq$1.0) ferrites have been fabricated by sol-gel method. The crystallographic and magnetic properties of the samples were investigated by means of x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscophy, Mossbauer spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnetometry. The structure of all the samples is cubic spinel type and the lattice constant decrease with increasing Cr content. The substituted Cr ions were located only in the B-site. The particle size also decreases with increasing Cr content. The Mossbauer spectra consist of two sextets due to Fe$^{3+}$ions at A- and B sites for 0.0$\leq$x$\leq$0.6, while, a paramagnetic doublet appears for 0.8$\leq$x$\leq$1.0. The magnetic hyperfine field decreases with increasing Cr content. The relaxation spectra was shown at 0.8$\leq$x$\leq$1.0 in CoCr$_{x}$ Fe$_{2-x}$O$_4$. The coercivity decreases drastically, while, the saturation magnetization decreases linearly with increasing x.ing x.

MeV 전자빔 조사를 통한 Pt/Graphene 복합 나노구조의 형성

  • 그래핀(graphene)은 육각형의 탄소원자 한층으로 이루어진 이차원 구조체로써 우수한 물리적, 전기적 특성으로 인해 다양한 분야에서 응요을 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히, 그래핀과 금속 나노입자의 복합구조는 수소 저장체, 가스센서, 연료전지, 화학 촉매등의 다양한 분야에서 응용이 가능하다. 현재까지 그래핀/금속나노입자 복합구조의 제작 방법에는 열증발(thermal evaporation), 전기도금법(electrodeposition), 표면 기능화(surface functionalization)를 이용한 방법이 보고되었다. 하지만 이러한 방법은 긴 공정시간이 요구되며, 나노입자의 크기 분포가 넓다는 단점을 지닌다. 본 연구에서는 화학기상증착법을 통해 합성된 그래핀이 전사된 SiO2 (300nm)/Si 기판에 염화기가 포함된 백금 화합물 분산용액을 스핀코팅(spin-coating)하고 MeV 전자빔을 조사하여 Pt/grapheme 복합구조를 형성하였다. 이 방법은 균일한 크기 분포의 나노입자의 형성이 가능하며, 간단하고, 대면적 공정이 가능하며, 다른 방법에 비해 그래핀의 결함형성이 적다는 장점을 지닌다. Pt/grapheme 의 기하학적 구조를 주사전자현미경(scanning electron microscopy)와 투과전자현미경(transimission)을 통해 분석하였고, Pt와 graphene의 일함수(workfunction)의 차이에 의해 야기되는 전하이동에 의한 도핑(doping)현상을 라만 분광기(Raman spectroscopy)와 X-선 광전자 분광기(X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy)를 통해 분석하였다.

진공증착법으로 제작한 $AgGaSe_2$ 박막의 구조 및 광학적 특성

  • 진공증착법으로 ITO (indium-tin-oxide) 기판 위에 $AgGaSe_2$ 박막을 성장시켜 그 구조와 광학적 특성을 조사하였다. X-선 회절 분석에 의하여 살창상수는 a=5.97 ${\AA}$와 c=10.88 ${\AA}$이고, 황동광(chalcopyrite) 구조를 하고 있었으며, 그 성장 방향은 (112)방향으로 선택 성장됨을 알 수 있었다. 증착된 박막과 200~400$^{\circ}C$로 열처리한 박막의 실온에서 측정한 광학적인 에너지 띠 간격은 2.02 eV에서 2.28 eV까지 변하였다. 또한 열린회로로 구성되어 있는 시료의 표면에 광 펄스를 주입하여 표면에서 형성된 전하들의 거동을 광유기 방전 특성(PIDC) 방법을 이용하여 조사하였다. 초기전위 V0로 형성된 시료의 양단을 주행하는 운반자 농도, 전류밀도 및 전기장 효과를 관찰하여 운반자의 주행시간, 이동도 그리고 전하운반자 농도를 계산한 결과는 각각 42 ${\mu}s$~81 ${\mu}s$, $1.9{\times}10^{-1}\;cm^2/Vs$~$5.7{\times}10^{-2}\;cm^2/Vs$ 그리고 약 $6.0{\times}10^{17}/cm^3$~$2.0{\times}10^{18}/cm^3$이었으며, p-형 전도를 나타내었다. 원자 힘 현미경 실험으로 제곱평균제곱근 거칠기와 입계크기를 조사하였으며, X-선 광전자 분광실험으로 원소들의 결합상태를 관찰하였다.

Characteristics of Silk Sericin Powder Prepared by Mechanical Treatment (물리적 분쇄에 의한 세리신 분말의 특성)

  • Silk sericin powder was prepared by mechanical treatment from culled-cocoon extract of Bombyx mori silkworm. The physical and structural characteristics of sericin powder were investigated by instrumental analysis. The solubility of sericin powder was decreased nearly half of sericin lyophilized. Amino acid analysis showed that arginine content was decreased from 3.72% to 0.03∼0.07%. XRD showed that molecules of sericin were somewhat regularly arranged by mechanical treatment. On the other hand, FT-IR showed the molecular vibration of silk sericin was not induced by mechanical treatment. Thermal properties also did not changed.

  • 다양한 고리형 에스테르 및 고리형 케톤 화합물을 시도하여 새로운 구조-II 및 구조-H 수용성 하이드레이트 형성체를 발견하였다. 이렇게 새로이 발견된 하이드레이트 형성체에 대해서는 상평형 측정 및 분광학적 분석을 수행하여 안정영역과 분자 거동을 파악하였다. 새로이 발견된 하이드레이트 형성체는 물과의 용해성이 우수하여 하이드레이트 형성이 빠른 속도로 이루어져 실제 응용 분야에서 중요하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 전망된다.

  • Specific structural properties of Li intercalation reaction into the spinel relatedmanganese dioxide, $Li_{x}Mn_{2}O_{4}(0.2{\leq}x{\leq}2.0)$, are investigated by X-ray diffractional and electrochemical studies of Li/1M $LiClO_{4}$-propylene carbonate solution/$Li_{x}Mn_{2}O_{4}$ cell. The effect of the chemical composition and the reaction temperature on electrochemical parameter of $Li_{x}Mn_{2}O_{4}$ are studied by the phenomena of phase-transition, analysis of crystal lattice, fine structure, and thermal analysis. Treatment of the spinel $Li_{x}Mn_{2}O_{4}$ with aqueous acid was found to result in conversiton of $Li_{x}Mn_{2}O_{4}$ to nearly pure $MnO_{2}$, as evidenced by a reduction in the lattice constant $a_{c}$ from 8.255 to $8.031\;{\AA}$. At a composition range of $0.2{\leq}x{\leq}0.6$ in $Li_{x}Mn_{2}O_{4}$ the reduction proceeded in a homogeneous phase, which was characterized by a constant voltage of 3.9~3.7 V together with a lattice constant of $8.255\;{\AA}$.

Study for Electro-optic Properties of PZT Ceramics (PZT 세라믹의 전기광학적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • X-ray diffraction analysis and infrared spectrophotometry were used to investigate the crystal structures and the bonding characteristics in $Pb(Zr_{1-y}Ti_y)O_3$ (PNZT), which has a perovskite structure. As $Pb^{2+}$ of PZT was substituted by 8${\sim}$12 atom% $Nd^{3+}$ ion, the structures were changed to cubic from tetragonal and its transmission had maximum value. Transmission increased as the stretching force constant $(k_s)$ of unit cell increased. It is supposed that the electro-optic characteristics might occur due to electron-transition from HOMO to LUMO of titanium ion.
