  • The objective of this review was to investigate the efficacy of dental local anesthetics, as it is well known among clinicians that local anesthesia may be challenging in some circumstances. Therefore, the focus of this review was on the efficacy of the products used in dental local anesthesia. In a Pubmed database literature search conducted, a total of 8646 articles were found to be related to dental local anesthetics. After having applied the inclusion criteria (human research, performed in the last 10 years, written in English language, and focus on dental local anesthetics) and having assessed the quality of the papers, 30 were deemed eligible for inclusion in this review. The conclusion of this review is that none of the dental local anesthetic amides provide 100% anesthesia. The problem appears to be more pronounced when mandibular teeth are attempted to be anaesthetized and especially if there is irreversible pulpitis involved. The authors conclude that this finding suggest exploration of more efficient techniques to administer dental local anesthesia, especially in the mandible, to establish a 100% efficacy, is needed.

  • SNOMED CT is a standard clinical terminology which is to efficiently record, manage and utilize clinical records during clinical processes. However, huge expressive power of SNOMED CT makes it difficult to select appropriate terms during short consultation hours. In addition, true meaning of a written record using the terminology may be misunderstood or even distorted since one clinical meaning could be expressed in a variety of ways. This paper analyzes such known problems in a database point of view, and presents effective selection methods of similar terminologies to mitigate the problem.

  • In this paper, we use scratch to design and develop non-formal learning experiences that are linked with contents of secondary science textbook to educational programs. The goal of this paper is to develop a convenient and interesting program for non-formal learning in a learning environment using various smart device. Theoretical approaches to mobile education, such as smartphones, and smart education support policies continue to lead to various research efforts. Although most of the smart education systems developed for students who have difficulty in academic performance are utilized, they are limited to general students. To solve the problem, the learning environment was implanted by combining the scratch, which is an educational programming that can be easily written. The science education program proposed in this paper shows the result of process of programming using ICT device using scratch programming. In the evaluation stage, we were able to display the creations and evaluate each other, so that we could refine them more by sharing the completed ideas.

  • Let k ⩾ 2 be an integer, Sk = {1k, 2k, 3k, …} and B = {b1, b2, b3, …} be an additive complement of Sk, which means all sufficiently large integers can be written as the sum of an element of Sk and an element of B. In this paper we prove that $${{\lim}\;{\sup}}\limits_{n{\rightarrow}{\infty}}\;{\frac{{\Gamma}(2-{\frac{1}{k}})^{\frac{k}{k-1}}{\Gamma}(1+{\frac{1}{k}})^{\frac{k}{k-1}}n^{\frac{k}{k-1}}-b_n}{n}}\;{\geqslant}\;{\frac{k}{2(k-1)}}\;{\frac{{\Gamma}(2-{\frac{1}{k}})^2}{{\Gamma}(2-{\frac{2}{k}})}},$$ where 𝚪(·) is Euler's Gamma function.

  • In this study, the experimental apparatus for boiling point and melting point in science textbooks of various curriculums were analyzed. Science teachers' views on the difference between the experimental value and the value written in textbooks were inquired, too. Their views on the experimental apparatus, nd results of freezing point, melting point, boiling point, fractional distillation, and thermometer calibration were also investigated. The results of this study showed that the types of experimental apparatus for boiling point and melting point were somewhat dif-ferent with science textbooks and curriculum. The teachers' views were also various according to their background. In the experiment of the fractional distillat ion, a large number of teachers recognized mismatch between the exper-imental value and the value written in textbooks as mistake of textbook contents or problem of experiment itself. The teachers of chemistry background take higher recognition of the requirement of thermometer calibration than those of non-chemistry background in middle school.

  • Many people have conveniently used various messengers to talk with remote friends or to send urgent files to remote co-workers. Recently, it is also possible to use messenger with user's image. However, these messenger technologies are of no use for the blind. In order to cope with this problem, we propose voice-based messenger with a Braille system for the blind. The proposed messenger enables the blind to listen to the received sentences from remote user. It also enables them to listen to the written sentences before sending to remote user for the purpose of checking that the sentences are correctly written. The Braille system for writing sentences can be implemented by using the programmable NXT system, which contains a 32-bit ARM-7 micro-controller, with 4 touch-sensors. Finally, we apply the Bluetooth technology for wireless communication between the Braille system and the proposed messenger.

  • The Java programming language is designed for developing effective applications in a heterogeneous network environment. Major problem in Java is its performance. many attractive features of Java make the development of software easy, but also make it expensive to support ; applications written in Java are often much slower than their counterparts written in C or C++. To use Java`s attractive features without the performance penalty, sophisticated optimizations and runtime systems are required. Optimising Java bytecode has several advantages. First, the bytecode is independent of any compiler that is used to generate it. Second, the bytecode optimization can be performed as a pre=pass to Just-In-Time(JIT) compilation. Many attractive features of Java make the development of software easy, but also make it expensive to support. The goal of this work is to develop automatic construction of code optimizer for Java bytecode. We`ve designed and implemented a Bytecode Optimizer that performs the peephole optimization, bytecode-specific optimization, and method-inlining techniques. Using the Classfile optimizer, we see up to 9% improvement in speed and about 20% size reduction in Java class files, when compared to average code using the interpreter alone.

  • "Yumunsachin(儒門事親)" is a very important work that contains everything of Jangjahwa(張子和)'s medical thought. The book was made into present form after the process of change several times. These days the printed book is consist of 10 classes and 15 volumes that combine several books. Original "Yumunsachin(儒門事親)" was the name of volume 1, 2, 3, "Chibyeongbaekbang(治病百法)" volume4, 5, "Siphyeongsamnyo(十形三標)" volume 6, 7, 8, "Japgigumun(雜記九門)" volume 9, "Chwalyodo(撮要圖)" volume 10, "Chibyeongbaekbang(治病雜論)" volume 11, "Sambeop-yukmun(三法六門)" volume 12, "Samsoron(三消論)" volume 13, "Chibeoppillyo(治法心要)" volume 14, and "Sinhyomyeongbang(神效名方)" volume 15. "Yumunsachin(儒門事親)" is a collection of a few books so, the literary style isn't uniform. The unconformity show that "Yumunsachin(儒門事親)" was not written by one person. The problem who is the writer of each volume remains controversial. But most scholars recognize that volume 1, 2, 3, original "Yumunsachin(儒門事親)" and was written by Jangjahwa(張子和), embellished by Majigi(麻知幾). Also, it is recognized that "Samsoron(三消論)" was collected by Majigi(麻知幾) and inserted by posterity, and that Sangjungmyeong(常仲明) and Nangi(欒企) who were Jang[張子和]'s disciples participated in compilation of "Yumunsachin(儒門事親)". Therefore, it is sure that the contents of the book express Jangjahwa(張子和)'s medical thought.
