Increasing the value of data, paradigm shifts in research methods, and specific manifestations of open science indicate that research is no longer text-centric, but data-driven. In this study, we analyzed the services for DCC, ICPSR, ANDS and DataONE to derive key elements and functional requirements for research data management and services that are still insufficient in domestic research. Key factors derived include DMP writing support, data description, data storage, data sharing and access, data citations, and data management training. In addition, by presenting functional requirements to the derived key elements, this study can be applied to construct and operate RDM service in the future.

The purpose of this corpus-based study was to find 4-word lexical bundles in computer science research articles. As the demand for research articles (RAs) for international publication increases, the need for acquiring field-specific writing conventions for this academic genre has become a burning issue. Particularly, one area of burgeoning interest in the examination of rhetorical structures and linguistic features of RAs is the use of lexical bundles, the indispensable building blocks that make up an academic discourse. To illustrate, different academic discourses rely on distinctive repertoires of lexical bundles. Because lexical bundles are often acquired as a whole, the recurring multi-word sequences can be retrieved automatically to make written discourse more fluent and natural. Therefore, the proper use of rhetorical devices specific to a particular discipline can be a vital indicator of success within the discourse communities. Hence, to identify linguistic features that make up specific registers, this corpus-based study examines the types and usage frequency of lexical bundles in the discipline of CS, one of the most in-demand fields world over. Given that lexical bundles are empirically-derived formulaic multi-word units, identifying core lexical bundles used in RAs, they may provide insights into the specificity of particular CS text types. This will in turn provide empirical evidence of register specificity and technicality within the academic discourse of computer science. As in the results, pedagogical implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.

This article examines Laurence Sterne's Sentimental Journey in the context of eighteenth-century British travel literature. While literary critics generally read Sterne's work as a sentimental novel, contemporary readers initially interpreted the text as a travel narrative. It is my argument that travel writing, particularly the motion entailed in travelling, plays a significant role in Sterne's critical examination of sympathy and its cultural function during this period. By narrating in great detail his narrator Yorick's mobility and the effects it has on his sentimental encounters, Sterne illustrates how sympathy is not only difficult to activate and therefore requires added stimulation in the form of motion, but also does not necessarily result in charitable actions, a moral failure that is dramatized by the literal distance Yorick maintains from the objects of his sympathy. Calling to mind the figurative distance that constitutes an integral part of Adam Smith's formulation of sympathy in The Theory of Moral Sentiments, the distance Yorick establishes through his travels indicates sympathy's failure to bridge the emotional and socioeconomic distance between individuals, thereby highlighting sympathy's limitations as a moral instrument. I argue that by using Yorick's repeated acts of sympathy to explore the problems of sentimentalism, Sterne both draws from and innovates the tradition of employing imaginary voyages to engage in philosophical inquiries.

The study of literary texts is one of the earliest disciplines practiced around the globe. Poetry is artistic writing in which words are carefully chosen and arranged for their meaning, sound, and rhythm. Poetry usually has a broad and profound sense that makes it difficult to be interpreted even by humans. The essence of poetry is Rasa, which signifies mood or emotion. In this paper, we propose a poetry classification-based approach to automatically extract similar poems from a repository. Specifically, we perform a novel Rasa-based classification of Hindi poetry. For the task, we primarily used lexical features in a bag-of-words model trained using the support vector machine classifier. In the model, we employed Hindi WordNet, Latent Semantic Indexing, and Word2Vec-based neural word embedding. To extract the rich feature vectors, we prepared a repository containing 37 717 poems collected from various sources. We evaluated the performance of the system on a manually constructed dataset containing 945 Hindi poems. Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed model attained satisfactory performance.

Case-related news filtering is crucial in legal text mining and divides news into case-related and case-unrelated categories. Because case-related news originates from various fields and has different writing styles, it is difficult to establish complete filtering rules or keywords for data collection. In addition, the labeled corpus for case-related news is sparse; therefore, to train a high-performance classification model, it is necessary to annotate the corpus. To address this challenge, we propose topic-enhanced positive-unlabeled learning, which selects positive and negative samples guided by topics. Specifically, a topic model based on a variational autoencoder (VAE) is trained to extract topics from unlabeled samples. By using these topics in the iterative process of positive-unlabeled (PU) learning, the accuracy of identifying case-related news can be improved. From the experimental results, it can be observed that the F1 value of our method on the test set is 1.8% higher than that of the PU learning baseline model. In addition, our method is more robust with low initial samples and high iterations, and compared with advanced PU learning baselines such as nnPU and I-PU, we obtain a 1.1% higher F1 value, which indicates that our method can effectively identify case-related news.

This paper traces the drafting of the new EN 1991-1-4 Eurocode 1 - Actions on structures - Part 1-4: General actions - Wind actions within Mandate M/515 of the European Commission to CEN, for the evolution of structural Eurocodes towards their Second Generation. Work of the Project Team started in August 2017 and ended in April 2020, with delivery of a final draft for public enquiry. The revised document contains several modifications with respect to the existing 2005 version, and new sections were added, covering aspect not dealt with in the previous version. It has a renovated structure, with a main text limited in size and containing only fundamental material; all the remaining information, either normative or informative is arranged into thirteen annexes. Common to other Eurocode Parts, general requests from CEN were those of reducing the number of Nationally Determined Parameters and of enhancing the ease of use. More specific requests were those of (a) the drafting of a European design wind map, (b) improving wind models, (c) reviewing force and pressure coefficients, (d) reviewing the procedures for evaluation of the dynamic response, as well as (e) making editorial improvements aimed at a more user friendly document. The author had the privilege to serve as Project Team member for the drafting of the new document, and this paper brings his personal view concerning some general aspects of wind code writing, and some more specific aspects about the particular document.

Objectives : In this paper, the characteristics and significance of Chimgyeongyogyeol (=Chimguyogyeol) were analyzed. Furthermore, the purpose of this study is to examine which books were based on the origin of the medical knowledge enjoyed by Ryu, Seongryong at the time. Methods : The bibliography of each transmitted version of Chimgyeongyogyeol is considered, then the items are compared, and finally, the citations of the relevant contents are examined. Cited literature was analyzed by item, and sources were identified where the contents were cited. Results : 1. Chimgyeongyogyeol was published three times. 2. At present, it is not known which tradition text is the oldest. The transmission relationship between several transmission versions is not clear. 3. Chimgyeongyogyeol was written with reference to various other medical books, centered on Uihagibmun. 4. There is no information about 'Choose a day to perform acupuncture' and 'Zaoyuju acupuncture', which were widely popular in Joseon at the time. This reflects the purpose of writing to convey medical knowledge to the general public. Conclusions : Chimgyeongyogyeol was an acupuncture book written for the purpose of conveying medical knowledge to the common people by reflecting the latest medical achievements in China. Through this, the knowledge of acupuncture enjoyed by the author and what he aimed for through it were confirmed. However, it was impossible to completely compose the system of the first draft only with the extant version.

For Romantic women writers the paratext itself is essentially a masculine literary space affiliated with established writing practices; however, this paper suggests that Charlotte Turner Smith's mode of discourse in her use of notes and their relation to the text proper are never fixed in her contemplative blank-verse long poem, Beachy Head (1807). Even though the display of learning in the paratext partly supports the woman writer's claim to authority, this paper argues that Smith's endnotes also indicate her way of challenging the double bind for women writers, summoning masculine authority on the margins of her book while simultaneously interrogating essentialist thinking and instructions about one's identity in a culture and on the printed page. The poem shows how the fringes of the book can be effectively transformed from a masculine site of authority to an increasingly feminized site of interchange as Smith writes with an awareness of patriarchal, imperial abuses of power in that area of the book. There is a persistent transgression of cultural/textual boundaries occurring in Beachy Head, which explores the very scene and languages of imperial encounter. Accordingly, if Wordsworth's theory of composition suggests a subjective and abstract poetic experience-an experience without mediation-in which its medium's purpose seems to be to disappear from the reader's consciousness, an examination of the alternative discourse of self-exposure in Smith's poem reveals the essentially fluid nature of media-consciousness in the Romantic era, which remains little acknowledged in received accounts of Romantic literary culture.

What does an Irish modernist have in common with a contemporary Canadian classicist? The present paper attempts an unlikely comparison to bring out previously unnoticed facets of meaning by analyzing James Joyce's Ulysses (1922) and Anne Carson's Autobiography of Red: A Novel in Verse (1998) together. While Joyce and Carson write at different times and in different places, I suggest that they are also remarkably similar. First, both of these authors can be said to have re-invented the genre of the novel in the two aforementioned works. Second, they both set themselves the task of re-writing a Greek text, in Joyce's case Homer's Odyssey, in Carson's case Stesichoros's Geryoneis, transferring it to their own present reality. The focus of the article is to read Ulysses and Autobiography of Red together in light of their engagement with colonialism. This concept is central to both novels, as literary critics have noted. However, rather than examining the concept in the traditional sense, I use it as a platform to examine the roles that sociolinguistic colonialism, and what I call literary colonialism, play in these two innovative and groundbreaking novels. Finally, I analyze the ways in which these authors position themselves against the tradition. Comparing works by Carson and Joyce allows me to arrive at conclusions that transcend their time and apply to humanity in general.

The purpose of this study was to examine the social efficacy of children shown in reflective journal writing of early childhood education teachers focusing on picture book activities. The subjects were 47 3, 4 and 5 year old children in G Child Care Center in the Capital Area. Teachers were asked to do 20 picture book activities and to write a journal according to reflective thinking after each picture book activity. Through the reflective journals collected, this study attempted to interpret and analyze them qualitatively by classifying the journals and yielding text contents according to factors for children's social efficacy such as emotionality, emotion control, interpersonal relationship technique, and social knowledge understanding. From the results of this study, first, it was found that children expressed their emotion naturally and that they learned their unique emotionality while they lived together with their friends. Second, it was found that children perceived and controlled their own emotions by using their sympathy and empathy. Third, it was found that children recognized and accepted that they are different rather than the counterparts are wrong through their differences in each other's thoughts to compose the capability of interpersonal relationship. Fourth, it was found that children improved themselves by their understanding, respecting and accommodating their friends as members of society.
