A Study on the Strategy in the Application of Advertisement Properties - Focused on the Advertisement in Magazine - (광고에 등장하는 소품(小品, Props)의 표현전략에 관한 연구 - 잡지 광고를 중심으로 -)

  • The design on magazine advertisement has been developed and investigated in various fields, but the matter of properties has been inattentive in advertisement. Therefore, this study is to clarify the role of advertisement properties and the application tendency of it through the case study of the magazines for woman in Korea, and to analyze the relationship among the characteristic of manufactured goods for advertising, visual effects, copy-writing and the advertisement properties. The results of the study are as follows ; 1 . It is important to choose the discriminative property compared to the competitive company and to consider the purpose of advertisement from the beginning of idea developing. 2. Leading the photo artist to the photo working corresponding to the purpose of advertisement is critical point in advertisement design process. 3. After the photographing, it should be investigated from the designer's point of view. The presentation strategies on the application of advertisement properties are as follows, ·Conform the subject of advertisement massage. ·Choose the advertisement properties considered the relationship between manufactured goods for advertising and properties. ·Consider the properties as the supporting tool in bringing manufactured goods for advertising into relief. The pertinent application of advertisement properties is able to attract public attention and to increase the worthy of advertisement. Therefore, the prudent trial and experiment on it is needed.

The Phenomenological Study on the Employment Experiences of People with Psychiatric Disabilities (정신장애인의 취업경험에 관한 현상학적 연구)

  • This study aims at exploring the employment experiences of people with psychiatric disabilities who look for job and work at workplace through deeply searching that of people with psychiatric disabilities from the point of their view. So this research shows how their employment experiences appears in our country and also what kind of meaning that gives to people with psychiatric disabilities. The Main question of this study is what the meaning and essence of employment experiences of people with psychiatric disabilities is. The qualitative research method was taken for widely understanding and lively writing employment experiences of people with psychiatric disabilities in the connection of their lives. Especially, it was set that phenomenological research methods introduced by Colaizzi's, which can be used for understanding the essential meaning of the experiences of research participants. The major themes could be analyzed as "Entering a narrow door", "Being raised on an unfamiliar stage", "Confusing in the fast world", "Enduring", "Adjusting to an ordinary life", and "Taking a step forward admitting their limitation". These are connected not in the state of independence state but dependence according to time flow. In this study the people with psychiatric disabilities in relation to employment are compared to salmons running back in a wild river. People with psychiatric disabilities have power through running back in their employment and lives like a long river. Even though there are difficulty things, they actively try to flow together with other people as mature people in our society. This research helps to make strategies of employment supports for people with psychiatric disabilities through their employment experiences.

Development of the Balanced Language Education Program Model -on the basis of young children in low-income families participating in Dream Start- (균형적 언어교육 프로그램 모형 개발 -드림스타트 저소득 가정 유아를 대상으로-)

  • This study aims to develop and apply the language education program model - based on balanced language education approach - on development of literacy of young children in low-income families, specially participating in Dream Start public welfare service. Development of this languge education program was based on the basic view and characteristis of balanced language education. It was progressed in accordance with Analyze-Design-Develop-implement-Evaluate(ADDIE), which is an widely-used instructional design model. Educational contents including reading skills of picture books based on whole language approach and well-structured reading and writing sequences, teaching and learning method including the principles and the strategies and teaching and learning systematic evaluation method are proposed in viewpoint of balanced language teaching approach. The application of the program was conducted targeting 20 young children participating in Dream Start welfare service from June 2015 until early November. To evaluate the effectiveness of this program, word reading inspection and nonsense word reading inspection developed by Ko, Yeon-Kyung(2002) were performed. The reflective thinking journal of visiting teachers and the satisfaction reported by parents were analysed in the qualitative research method. As a result, reading skills of young children were improved. The superiority of the program - prefernce for the picture book, interests in written languages, effectiveness of individualized language education method - was demonstrated by qualitative analysis of reflective journal. This study has the significance on presenting the executable language education model for literacy development of young children in low-income families based on balanced language education approach.

A Case Study on The Operation of On-Campus Practicum for Core Basic Nursing Skills Using a Mobile Based Reflective Log (모바일 기반의 성찰일지를 활용한 핵심기본간호술 교내실습 운영 사례 연구)

  • Basic nursing core skills are the essential skills required of nurses to effectively care for their patients. This study introduces an on-campus practicum using a mobile-based reflective journal, and attempts identify the challenges faced by students when performing core clinical nursing skills. The on-campus practicum was operated based on Kolb's experiential learning cycle. For each class, students used mobile devices to write an online reflective journal. Analyzing contents of the reflective log helped in identifying difficulties experienced in executing core skills, and classifying them in terms of knowledge, skill, and attitude. The level of difficulty, importance, and confidence in the core clinical nursing skills were also assessed. Students were found to be struggling with various aspects of performing core nursing skills, especially in the skill category. Students also showed a lack of confidence in items they perceived as "high" difficulty, such as IV injection and indwelling catheterization. Moreover, over 50% students considered IV injection and vital sign checking as the most important core clinical nursing skills. Our data suggests the necessity to develop various contents and apply instructional strategies to solve the core skills difficulties faced by nursing students, and to continuously generate evidence for the same.

Evaluations of Chinese Brand Name by Different Translation Types: Focusing on The Moderating Role of Brand Concept (영문 브랜드네임의 중문 브랜드네임 전환 방식에 대한 중화권 소비자들의 브랜드 평가에 관한 연구 -브랜드컨셉의 조절효과를 중심으로-)

  • Brand names are often considered as a part of product and important extrinsic cues of product evaluation, when consumers make purchasing decisions. For a company, brand names are also important assets. Building a strong brand name in the Chinese commonwealth is a main challenge for many global companies. One of the first problem global company has to face is how to translate English brand name into Chinese brand name. It is very difficult decision because of cultural and linguistic differences. Western languages are based on an alphabet phonetic system, whereas Chinese are based on ideogram. Chinese speakers are more likely to recall stimuli presented as brand names in visual rather than spoken recall, whereas English speakers are more likely to recall the names in spoken rather than in visual recall. We interpret these findings in terms of the fact that mental representations of verbal information in Chinese are coded primarily in a visual manner, whereas verbal information in English is coded by primarily in a phonological manner. A key linguistic differences that would affect the decision to standardize or localize when transferring English brand name to Chinese brand name is the writing system. Prior Chinese brand naming research suggests that popular Chinese naming translations foreign companies adopt are phonetic, semantic, and phonosemantic translation. The phonetic translation refers to the speech sound that is produced, such as the pronunciation of the brand name. The semantic translation involves the actual meaning of and association made with the brand name. The phonosemantic translation preserves the sound of the brand name and brand meaning. Prior brand naming research has dealt with word-level analysis in examining English brand name that are desirable for improving memorability. We predict Chinese brand name suggestiveness with different translation methods lead to different levels of consumers' evaluations. This research investigates the structural linguistic characteristics of the Chinese language and its impact on the brand name evaluation. Otherwise purpose of this study is to examine the effect of brand concept on the evaluation of brand name. We also want to examine whether the evaluation is moderated by Chinese translation types. 178 Taiwanese participants were recruited for the research. The following findings are from the empirical analysis on the hypotheses established in this study. In the functional brand concept, participants in Chinese translation by semantic were likely to evaluate positively than Chinese translation by phonetic. On the contrary, in the symbolic brand concept condition, participants in Chinese translation by phonetic evaluated positively than by semantic. And then, we found Chinese translation by phonosemantic was most favorable evaluations regardless of brand concept. The implications of these findings are discussed for Chinese commonwealth marketers with respect to brand name strategies. Chronopolitics in the Cinematic Representations of "Comfort Women" (일본군 '위안부'의 영화적 기억과 크로노폴리틱스)

  • This paper examines how the cinematic representation of the Japanese military "comfort women" stimulates 'imagination' in the realm of everyday life and in the memory of the masses, creating a common awareness and affect. The history of the Japanese military "comfort women" was hidden for a long time, and it was not until the 1990s that it entered the field of public recognition. Such a transition can be attributed to the external and internal chronopolitics that made possible the testimony of the victims and the discourse of the "comfort women" issue. It shows the peculiar status of the comfort women history as 'politics of time'. In the same vein, the cinematic representations of the Japanese military "comfort women" can be found in similar chronopolitics. The 'comfort women' films have shown the dual time frame of the continuity and discontinuity of the 'silence'. In Korean film history, the chronotope of the reproduction of "comfort women" can be divided into four phases: 1) the fictional representations of "comfort women" before the 1990s 2) documentaries in the late 1990s as the work of testimony and history writing, 3) melodramatic transformation in the feature films in the 2000s, and 4) the diffusion of media and categories. The purpose of this article is to focus on the first phase and the third phase in which the issue of 'comfort women' is represented in the category of popular fiction films. While the "comfort women" representations before 1990 were strictly adhering to the framework of commercial movies and pursued the sexual exploitation of "comfort women" history, the recent films since the 2000s are experimenting with various attempts in the style of popular imagination. Especially, the emergence of 'comfort women' feature films in the 2000s, such as Spirit's Homecoming, I Can Speak, and Herstory, raise various questions as to whether we are "properly" aware of issues and how to remember and present the "cultural memory" of comfort women. Also, focusing on the cinematic representation strategies of the 2000s "comfort women", this article discusses the popular politics of melodrama, the representation of victims and violence, and the feature of 'comfort women' as meta-memory. As a melodramatic imagination and meta-memory for the historical trauma, the "comfort women" drama shows the historical, political, and aesthetic gateways to which the "comfort women" problem must pass. As we have seen in recent fiction films, the issue of "comfort women" goes beyond transnational relations between Korea and Japan; it demands a postcolonial task to dismantle the old colonial structure and explores a transnational project in which women's movements and human rights movements are linked internationally.

The Study of the Two-Dimensional Suicidal Type Based on Psychological Autopsy: A Focus on Suicidal Behaviors and Suicidal Risk Factors (한국형 심리부검 기반 이차원적 자살유형 연구: 자살행동과 자살위험요인을 중심으로)

  • The current study aimed to explore the suicidal behaviors and risk factors of completed suicides using psychological autopsy and use them as index variables to classify suicidal types. In addition, this study looked into the influential factors that affect each suicidal type. related to suicidal behaviors and suicidal risk factors by psychological autopsy. In addiction, the distinctions among the classes were analyzed. For this, psychological autopsies were conducted on the families and the close ones of 128 completed suicides. Then, the index variables were finally chosen for classifying suicidal types. The selected index variables for suicidal risk factors were mental disorders, suicide/self-harm, significant changes in physical appearance, marital conflict, adjustment and relationship issues at work/school, unemployment/layoff, jobless status and serious financial problems. The selected index variables for suicidal behaviors were expressing their suicidal attempts, writing suicidal notes, asking for help, the time/place/method of suicidal behavior, past suicidal/self-harm experience and the first person who witnessed the suicide. The Latent Class Analysis(LCA) and the 3-step method were used for classifying suicidal types. Then external variables(financial changes, cohabitation, existence of stressors, changes in stress level or relationships and family members with mental disorder/alchohol problems/ physical disorders, and work/school stisfaction) were applied for distinguishing classes. As a result, 5 classes(financial problems, adjustment problems, complex problems, psychiatric problems, and response to event[s]) were revealed on suicidal behaviors and 3 classes(residence- suicidal attempt- found by family, nonresidence- nonsuicidal attempt- found by acquaintances, residence- nonsuicidal attempt- found by family) were presented on suicidal risk factors. External variables such as gender, marital status, cohabitation, changes in relationships significantly differentiated among the 3 classes. Especially, class 3(residence- nonsuicidal attempt- found by family) tended to cohabit with others, were married, and had a significantly high level of interpersonal conflicts. When comparing the 5 classes of suicidal risk factors, auxiliary variables such as economic changes, cohabitation, stress, relationship changes, and family-related problems, and school/work satisfaction significantly differentiated the 5 classes. Especially class 3 (complex problems) experienced comparatively less family-related problems, but showed an aggravating level of personal stress. Suicial prevention strategies should be provided considering the characteristics of each class and the influential factors.
