Simulation has been recognized as one of major application areas of world wide web. Over the last several years, most research has been focused on the development of web-based simulation languages mostly using JAVA and validation of simulation modeling on web with the newly developed languages. In this paper, we develop a tentative web-based simulator for a simple unit-load automated warehouse system, named Web-SAW. In constructing Web-SAW, we program a user interface program, a simulation logic program, and an animation program with JAVA while utilizing the class library functions and embodiment environment of existing web-based simulation languages. Web-SAW simulates the automated warehouse system with the user input about system operation, displays the animation on a static background representing the system, and generates the various textual outputs after simulation.

Application of data mining techniques to the world wide web, referred to as web mining, has been the focus of several recent researches. With the explosive growth of information sources available on the world wide web, it has become increasingly necessary to track and analyze their usage patterns. In this study, we introduce a process of pre-processing and cluster analysis on web log data and suggest a distance measure considering the structural relationships between web contents. Also, we illustrate some real examples of cluster analysis for web log data and look into practical application of web usage mining for eCRM.

Universal accessibility of web sites Is critical in a highly interconnected world. The web site should be usable by anyone, regardless of Individual capabilities and disabilities. But in reality, the users with disabilities are discriminated by inaccessible wed sites. This research analyze the accessibility of major web sites of Korea based on World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guideline 1.0. The result shows that the average number of accessibility errors per web site is 2.77 much higher than that of Unites States. Automated testing and manual testing of web accessibility provides complementary results.

Global climate change becomes one of the most serious environmental problems over the world. There is growing recognition thai climate change education, especially for children is important. However, there have been few programmes, curricula, teachers' training chances, and teaching-learning materials for climate change education so far. Therefore, we analyse the world wide web(web) contents in Korea which are available for climate change education, providing fundamental data in developing educational contents for climate change, as well as helping users to search appropriate contents for climate change education. Subjects for this study are 10 web sites of public institutions related to climate change in Korea. The web contents are evaluated in terms of diversity, accuracy, authenticity and the ease of use. The key finding in this study is that the majority of the contents are focused on how to respond to the problem, especially mitigation and also we find that most of the web sites provide text-types of lesson plan and video-types. Consequently, it would be necessary to develop various web contents for climate change education in both quality and quantity aspects.

In this paper, we presetn the WWW (world-wide-web) base dtelePACS, which uses the communication network as asymmetric satellite data communication system (ASDCS). Web-based telePACS is imple-mented with JAVA language. Through the internet, web-based TelePACS can make it possible for remote hospital or doctor to access PACS data and information easily and cheaply. The ASDCS uses receive-only satellite links for data delivery and PSTN (Public switched telephone Network) modem or N-ISDN (narrow band integrate services digital network) for communication. The satellite communication linking shows the very high-seed performance such as 10-30 times faster than the modem linking.To solve the speed limits of internet, JPEG and wavelet compression methods were adapted in WWW-based TelePACS and were evaluated by PSNR (peak signal-to-noise ratio) and by radiological experts that 10:1 or less JPEG and wavelet compression may be acceptable for diagnostic purposes. Consequently, we get the conslusion that our system is suitable for tele-radiology and telemedicine world widely.

This paper describes the development of a data management system which manages the database on World Wide Web(WWW). It is the pa.0 of WISIF(Web-based geographic Information System for Irrigation Facilities) which is a prototype of an information management system for irrigation facilities. This system includes a web serve. and a RDBMS(Relational DataBase Management System). Netscape Enterprise Server 3.0 is used for a web server and for the latter, Oracle DBMS 7.3 for NT is used for a RDBMS. Users can cornet the database through a web browser, such as Netscape Communicator, to insert, update, delete and search data they want

링크 구조를 이용하는 대표적인 알고리즘인 HITS는 링크 정보를 이용하여 Authority와 Hub rating을 구하는 알고리즘이다. 그러나 HITS에서는 중요도와는 관계없이 단순히 링크만을 많이 갖는 page의 Authority와 Hub rating이 비정상적으로 높게 계산되는 문제점이 있어 이를 해결하기 위한 연구들이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 연구들의 결과를 개선시키기 위해 Authority와 Hub rating의 단순한 합이 아닌, 평균과 priority를 적용하였다. 정확도를 측정하는 실험을 통해 제안하는 알고리즘이 기존의 방법보다 우수한 성능을 나타냄을 알 수 있다.

안전측면에서 볼 때 각종 유해위험물질 정보분석은 산업현장의 교육자료 및 기초자료로 활용할 수 있고 이러한 사전 교육을 통해 예비지식을 습득함으로써 유해위험물질로 인해 발생 가능한 사고를 미연에 방지할 수 있어 유용하다. 이로 인해 각종 유해위험물질 정보를 제공하고자 1994년 말에 한국산업안전공단에서 제시한 "화학물질의 위험특성 조사 및 MSDS의 제도화 연구 보고서"에서 물질안전보건자료(MSDS)를 검색하는 도스용 프로그램이 개발되었고 국내에서는 통신을 이용한 서비스로는 KISCO-NET의 물질안전보건자료를 검색하는 대화형 방식의 서비스가 있다. 최근 들어 국외에서는 하이퍼텍스트 포맷을 사용한 그래픽환경의 클라이언트 프로그램인 웹 브라우저(Web Browser)로 World Wide Web 서버에 구축되어진 물질안전보건자료를 검색하는 사이트(site)가 늘어나고 있다. 이는 웹 서버가 단순히 문서만 전송하는 것이 아닌 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 그래픽 환경의 클라이언트 프로그램으로 자료의 검색이 손쉽다는 점에서 웹상의 데이터 베이스화는 늘어가고 있는 추세이다. 하지만 현재까지 국내에는 물질안전보건자료를 웹상에서 검색할 수 있도록 한 웹 서버 구축사례는 없다. 따라서 1995년 초부터 작업을 시작하여 물질안전 보건자료를 검색하는 웹 서버를 국내에서 처음으로 구축하였으며 현재 거의 완성단계에 이르러 시범운전을 하고 있다.운전을 하고 있다.
