  • According to the World Health Organization, the top 10 causes of death worldwide include heart disease. Heart diseases include coronary disease, which induces acute myocardial infarction. Ticagrelor drugs are being used to treat acute alliances, but it has become difficult to breathe due to the drugs. In a related study, Tobias predicted that uric acid causes acute respiratory distress independently of other factors, including BNP. And in the Ahmad study, serum uric acid numbers were related to the left ventricle depending on the level of uric acid. Experimental data are data used after 155 patients who received coronary intervention took ticagrelor. The research methods were leveraged by gradient decent algorithm and linear regression. In order to avoid overfitting in the experiment, training data and test data were separated into 70 and 30 percent respectively. The experimental results lacked the predictability of other attributes except DT in the correlation coefficient and crystal coefficient. However, all attributes related to dyspnea other than DT are determined to be related to causing relaxation of the heart in the left ventricle. Therefore, the attribute causing dyspnea is determined to be an attribute causing relaxation of the heart of the DT and left ventricle.

  • Clear cell odontogenic carcinoma (CCOC) is a rare jaw tumor that was classified as a malignant tumor of odontogenic origin in 2005 by the World Health Organization because of its aggressive and destructive growth capacity and metastasis to the lungs and lymph nodes. We report a case of a 66-year-old female who had swelling, incision and drainage history and a well-defined unicystic radiolucent lesion that was comparable to a cystic lesion. At first, the patient received decompression, and the lesion size decreased. Three months after decompression, cyst enucleation was performed. The pathologic result indicated that the lesion was CCOC. In this report we emphasize that patients with painful cystic lesions in addition to jaw enlargement and loosening teeth should be considered for the possibility of malignancy.

  • Background: The current educational goals and missions of pharmacy schools in Korea were analyzed to examine the current orientation and future direction of pharmaceutical education. Methods: Educational mission statements were obtained from the homepages of 35 pharmacy schools and subjected to convert into codes. Themes and categories were induced using qualitative content-analysis from the codes and compared according to location of school (capital area versus province), public versus private, and date of initial enrollment (before versus in 2011). The themes and categories were compared with "the eight-star pharmacist" suggested by World Health Organization (WHO) and International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). Results: Twelve themes, 44 categories, and 496 codes were identified. Themes included pharmaceutical expertise, professionalism, contribution to society, basic educational ideology, sphere of activity, leadership, research, dealing with future change, problem-solving ability, self-management and development, cooperation, and respect for life. Mission statements of schools that initially enrolled in 2011 cited humankind level contribution (p=0.011), patient-centered care (p=0.026), and globalization (p=0.018) more frequently than those enrolled before 2011. Most schools mentioned about care-giver, researcher, and decision-maker which were stated in "the eight-star pharmacist". Conclusion: To meet the growing social requirements of a pharmacist's roles, wide-ranging active discussion on establishing educational goals should be made.

  • Tuberculosis is a chronic and delayed infection which is easily experienced by young people. According to the statistics of the World Health Organization (WHO), there are nearly ten million fell ill with tuberculosis and a total of 1.5 million people died from tuberculosis in 2018 (including 251000 people with HIV). Tuberculosis is the largest single infectious pathogen that leads to death. In order to help doctors with tuberculosis diagnosis, we compare the tuberculosis classification abilities of six popular convolutional neural network (CNN) models in the same data set to find the best model. Before training, we optimize three parts of CNN to achieve better results. We employ sigmoid function to replace the step function as the activation function. What's more, we use binary cross entropy function as the cost function to replace traditional quadratic cost function. Finally, we choose stochastic gradient descent (SGD) as gradient descent algorithm. From the results of our experiments, we find that Densenet121 is most suitable for tuberculosis diagnosis and achieve a highest accuracy of 0.835. The optimization and expansion depend on the increase of data set and the improvements of Densenet121.

  • Rhabdoid meningioma is an uncommon meningioma variant, which was initially described in 1998 by Perry et al. It is classified as a variant corresponding to grade III in the recent World Health Organization[WHO] classification of tumors of the nervous system, because of its unique histopathological features and its highly aggressive clinical course. To date there were still a lot of arguments about their developmental patterns and the treatment strategy especially for rhabdoid meningiomas lacking other histological features of malignancy. Although the exact causes of rhabdoid transformation of a benign meningioma are unknown, malignant transformation long duration after surgical resection under an underlying predilection for malignancy is suggested in our case. And we suggest that any histological rhabdoid features in recurrent meningiomas or even in primary cases seem to indicate the malignant clinical course and the need for aggressive treatments, because transformation from a benign or atypical one to a malignant one seems to occur at last.

  • Radon is one of the substances that pollute the indoor air and is classified as a first-level carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer(IARC) together with asbestos, and it is reported that it can cause lung cancer. The World Health Organization(WHO) reports that lung cancer is the second leading cause of lung cancer, and 6-15% of lung cancer patients report lung cancer caused by radon. Radon occurs in cracks in concrete and aged buildings, and is detected in soil, rocks, groundwater, and so on. It is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas which is adsorbed to dust in the air and enters through human respiratory system. This study used vermiculite (expanded vermiculite), which has excellent ion exchange ability and a large number of pores, and industrial by - product red mud which has heavy metal adsorption ability, in order to adsorb radon. A matrix capable of adsorbing radon was prepared, and the characteristics of each material were compared and analyzed.

  • Lichen planus is a chronic disease characterized by bilateral and multiple lesions on the skin or oral mucosa. Lichen planus is caused by immune mediated degeneration along the border between epithelium and connective tissue. The incidence of oral squamous cell carcinoma in patients diagnosed with oral lichen planus (OLP) is reported to be between 0.4%-5.6% in different studies and the World Health Organization has categorized lichen planus as "a potentially malignant disorder". However, the correlation between OLP and oral cancer still remains controversial as some reported that the reason for increased incidence of squamous cell carcinoma in OLP patient is misdiagnosis of dysplastic lesion as OLP. This report aims to discuss the correlation between OLP and oral cancer through a case of middle aged woman diagnosed with OLP who was successfully treated but developed squamous cell carcinoma 8 years later.

  • Purpose: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is relatively common mucosal disease in clinical dentistry. OLP is intractable and regarded having malignant potential. Until now, there is some debate on how far OLP can be malignant, and which characteristics can be a risk factor for malignant transformation. Clinician need to know some differences between OLP and lesions similar to OLP to manage properly and suppose prognosis correctly. Therefore, the aim of this study was to divide clinical OLP into two groups and to compare the results of direct immunofluorescence (DIF) between two groups. Methods: This study was conducted on outpatients who visited at the department of Oral Medicine in Chonbuk National University Hospital from January 2007 to November 2015. Patients with DIF result were retrospectively reviewed. The selected patients were classified 'clinical typical of OLP' (CTO) or 'clinical compatible with OLP' (CCW) by modified World Health Organization diagnostic criteria of OLP and oral lichenoid lesion. Results: DIF were classified by deposition intensity or pattern of anti-human antibody and fibrinogen. The classification of fluorescence pattern in each specimen was graded as positive, possibly positive or negative. Conclusions: Both CTO and CCW had positive and possibly positive pattern. Prevalence of positive pattern was 68.8% in CTO and 52.6% in CCW and that of possibly positive pattern was 9.4% in CTO and 5.3% in CCW. Prevalence of negative was 21.8% in CTO and 42.1% in CCW.

  • The clear cell meningioma[CCM] is a rare and recently described as a histologic variant of meningioma. It has been identified and included in new World Health Organization[WHO] classification of the Central Nervous System[CNS] tumors recently. The CCMs are histologically characterized by sheets of spindled to polygonal cells with clear cytoplasm, which is the expression of high glycogen concentration. The CCMs occur in younger patients and usually are located in the spinal canal and posterior fossa. The most interesting aspect of CCM is the high recurrence rate and aggressiveness. Poor outcome has been shown in intracranial and spinal tumor location, but the indicators that predict outcome have not been established. Until now 22 intracranial CCM cases had been reported in English literature and 3 cases in Korean. The authors report two cases of CCM located at cerebral convexity and one at cavernous sinus those were totally removed [Simpson Grade $I{\sim}II$] by subfrontal, frontal and orbitocranial approaches. The clinical, radiological, histopathological, and neurosurgical features of these cases are discussed with the relevant literatures.
