월드컵 98 프랑스대회는 단일 스포츠로서는 사상 최대의 이벤트가 됐다. 애틀란타 올림픽의 텔레비전 관전자수인 연인원 200억명에 비해, 월드컵 98 프랑스대회에서는 370억명이 관전한 것으로 전해졌다. 이처럼 주목을 받은 이벤트를 떠받치는 대규모 정보시스템을 HP, EDS, France Telecom, Sybase가 공식 테크놀로지 파트너로서 공동으로 제공했다.

This study was conducted to investigate physical properties of soil and turfgrass wear characteristics within turfgrasses inside or outside the stadium A 1/1000 scale model Inchon world cup soccer d[me was constructed for this test. Turfgrasses planted inside and outside the model dome were; Kentucky bluegrass(KB), Kentucky bluegrass + perennial ryegrass mixture (KB+PR), Kentucky bluegrass + tall fescue + perennial ryegrass mixture (KB+TF+PR), Zoysia japonica 'Anyangjungzii'(ZA) and Zoysia japonica 'Zenith\`(ZZ). The rootzone was constructed by the multi-layer method (United States Golf Association method). Traffic on turfgrasses was treated with a 120kg roller. Surface soil hardness, soil penetration and water infiltration values on cool-season grasses(KB, KB+PR, KB+TF+PR) was found to be better for soccer play compared to zoysiagrasses(ZA, ZZ). No big differences in surface soil hardness, soil penetration and water infiltration values were found between inside and outside of the model dome. Wear damage on cool-season grasses caused by the traffic treatment was low compared to zoysiagrasses. However, there was no difference in wear damage by the traffic treatment within cool-season grasses while wear damage on ZA was higher than on ZZ within zoysiagrasses. It could be concluded that physical properties and wear characteristics on cool-season grasses were much better for soccer play than on zoysiagrasses.

The purpose of this study was to identify the pattern and perception of food consumption, mass restaurant use, drinking style, and food purchasing factors by cohort groups i. e., World Cup(W) generation, baby boom, and silent generation. Data were collected from 412 respondents including three generations by questionnaire method in April through May 2002. Analysis of variance and chi-square results indicate that there were significant differences among three generation groups for the pattern and perception of food consumption, the use of mass restaurant, preferred drinking style, and influencing factors for food purchasing. W generation are more likely to be influenced by sensibility factor than baby boom and silent generation. Considering food preference pattern, baby boom as well as silent generation prefer green vegetables than meats, and they must have Kimche when having meals. Similarities and differences in perceptional pattern types are discussed, and future implications for food and nutrition specialists and food marketers are provided.

This study analyzes on which Sports Program the 2006 TV focused on. As a data, we have used the 2006 Television programming components of KBS 1TV, 2TV and MBC TV, SBS TV. The analysis of the data was carried out classifying the sports hookup program. As a result, all three broadcasting companies placed a great deal of weight on the 2006 World Cup and they have made national match the prime subject in the components of Television Programming. Looking at each broadcasting companies, SBS TV placed the highest importance in sports programming, on the other hand, KBS TV placed the least importance in sports programming. The characteristic of the 2006 Sports Television Programming components is that it was focused on the Mega Sports Event and the Pro-Sports of the World Cup and have worsen the alienation phenomena of unpopular sports.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of intervention variables which may affect the air travel demand for Jeju domestic flights and to anticipate the air travel demand for Jeju domestic flights. The air travel demand forecasts for Jeju domestic flights are conducted through ARIMA-Intervention Model selecting five intervention variables such as 2002 World Cup games, SARS, novel swine-origin influenza A, Yeonpyeongdo bombardment and Japan big earthquake. The result revealed that the risk factor such as the threat of war that is a negative intervention incident and occurred in Korea has the negative impact on the air travel demand due to the response of risk aversion by users. However, when local natural disasters (earthquakes, etc) occurring in neighboring courtiers and global outbreak of an epidemic gave the negligible impact to Korea, negative intervention incident would have a positive impact on air travel demand as a response to find alternative due to rational expectation of air travel customers. Also we realize that a mega-event such as the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup games reduced the air travel demand in a short-term period unlike the perception in which it will increase the air travel demand and travel demands in the corresponding area.

This study is to consider the character of cables in six World-Cup stadiums constructed in 2002 and to inspect problems on measurement natural frequencies interpretation and application of existing theory. The results of the experiment were shown that it was possible to determine the tension force of the real cables with an accuracy of 8% by taking the cable bending stiffness. But for the range of cable affected greatly by bending stiffness(${\xi}{\leq}7$), it was appeared the tendency to increase estimated error and was considered to need additional study of this range. Estimated tension error could not be improved so much in comparison to the case using single mode of vibration even through multiple modes of vibration were used.

The purpose of the study is to examine the effects of the positive menial stress, eustress, on autonomic nervous system(ANS) and human health. For this, we analyzed heart rate variability(HRV) parameters, the most promising markers of ANS function to assess the changes of emotional and physiological states of human body. We measured HRV Signal of World Cup group(281 male subjects: $29.8{\pm}5.6yr$., 187 female subjects: $29.0{\pm}5.4yr$.) in two stadiums at least an hour before the game during '2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan' event. We also measured control group's(331 male subjects: $30.9{\pm}4.7 yr$., 344 female subjects: $30.2{\pm}5.2 yr$.) in the health promotion centers in two university hospitals at least a month before and after the world cup event period. Considering physiological differences between males and females, the data analysis was applied to 'male group' and 'female group' separately. As a result, some tendency was observed that is different from what we have known as the stress reaction. In general, all parameter values except that of mean heart rate tend to decrease under stressed condition. However, under eustressed condition, both heart rate and standard deviation of the Normal to Normal intervals(SDNN) were higher then those of normal condition(p<0.05). Especially, in case of female group, contrary to distressed condition, every frequency-domain powers showed tile higher value(p<0.05, p<0.001). Considering that decrease of HRV indicates the loss of one's health, the increase of SDNN and frequency parameters means that homeostasis control mechanism of ANS is functioning positively. Accordingly, induction of eustress from international sports event may affect positively to the people's health.

The zinc prosphate film treatments used to lubricating treatment of mostly cold forging processes. But there are several problems happened to lubricating treatment process such as happening harmful environment on person, complex lubrication processing occurring in energy and time consumption, eco-destructive and chemical by-product generation, the needs of waste disposal etc. As a result, a water-soluble lubricant was developed to replace the perfect or some of the zinc prosphate film in the world. In order to solve these problems, this study evaluated the performance of the typical water-soluble. In this study, for these requirement inquiry of two part. First, about possibility of replace zinc phosphate lubricant, quantitatively evaluation developed of water-soluble lubricant for cold forging vs zinc phosphate lubricant. Second, About optimization of coating Process use to equipment with practicable automatic coating Process. The performance evaluation of these lubricants was conducted using the double cup extrusion test and spike forging test. With the use of the commercial FE code DEFORM, friction factor calibration curves, i.e. cup height ratio vs. punch stroke and spike height vs. punch stroke, were established for different friction factor values. By matching the cup height ratio and the punch stroke and spike height vs. punch stroke from experiment to that obtained from FE simulations, the friction factor of the lubricants was determined. Survey of comparative analysis use to SEM that sprayed lubricant surface structure of grain shape and characteristic of lubricant performance based on grain shape and deformed lubricant surface expansion. As a result, developed lubricant were found to perform comparable to or better than zinc phosphate. And thought this result, innovatively cope with generated problem of existing lubrication process.

The usual definition of and urban resort was a place vastly different from places of daily life such as a theme park or other tourist destination. At the same time, revival of the combination of usual and unusual spaces, in a way like the mixed "Hare"(Special occasion of public event) and "Ke"(Daily life) spaces of communities of old Japan, is part of the idea of urban resorts. And they are places, which start by making a comfortable urban environment for citizens, providing a daily life full of culture and promoting a city′s identity to visitors. if we think about the kinds of structural elements of urban resorts, the usual elements include community, local culture and industry, while the unusual elements include symbols, festivities and interaction. Kobe Wing Stadium is a venue for the 2002 FIFA World Cup hosted by Korea and Japan. The city will build the stadium, but after construction management will be given over to private enterprise, hoping to utilize that sector′s business know how. A competition was held to determine the private executor who would be entrusted with the planning, design, construction and management of the project, considering the conditions of the area, the stadium′s relationship to it and local revitalization. The competition was won by a private enterprise (Kobe Steel Obayashi Group). The them of "Creation of a Sports Community Park" grapples with the large issue of the facility′s relationship with the community. American geographer Yi-fu Tuan coined the word "topophilia" to indicate love of a place. No other word could better describe the desired urban resort nature of the stadium. From this historical perspective it seems that stadiums have great potential as urban resorts. The factor that will determine their success is the attitude of citizens toward them, in short whether they develop topophilia for them or not. We examined the urban resort nature of Kobe Wing Stadium. Regarding daily life, we saw the attempts to revive the local community, the possibility of deepening the local culture and the weakened state of local industry. As a place that is for more than daily life, we saw the certainty of the stadium′s symbolism, its potential as a place for festivities and the test it will face as a space for interaction. Even though several issues are left for future resolution, evaluating Kobe Wing Stadium through these elements of an urban resort, it is clearly founded in the daily life of the community while providing a venue for "Hare"occasions. Fulfilling the roles of an urban resort, it provides many opportunities for local residents to enjoy their and gives visitors a reason to come repeatedly.
