  • This paper discusses the qualification criteria for international hub airport and suggests the strategies for Inchon International Airport (IIA) to be the hub airport in the East Asia. Recently, many East and Southeast Asia countries have invested on large scale international airports like Chap Lak Kok airport, Pudong airport etc.. as Korea have done on IIA. IIA to be open in 2001 will face a serious competition with these airport. Being a hub airport requires geographic proximity. sufficient volume of local traffic. uncongested infrastructure, a good accessibility to surrounding industrial centers. high quality of service to the airline. In order to promote airlines to land at IIA. Korea Government need to establish Open Sky Policy to many countries and national flag carriers of Korea need to be involved in a global alliance. Developing vicinity of IIA as free trade zone will generated more local traffic which makes IIA as more attractive candidate for airlines. The Korea airspace is one of the most restricted area in the world becuase of the national security. which limits civil aircraft maneuvers. The airspace need to be re-structured to exploit the full capacity of IIA.

  • Busan Gimhae Airport is a major airline base in Busan Gyeongnam and is close to Busan Harbor, With close the five largest ports in the world, GimHae has not been developed to fit the size and role of the port. Currently, there is an increasing number of flights and airline companies in use, but it is already foreseen that the airport has become a saturating airport and a military airport. Therefore, the lack of awareness of the importance of GimHae Airport and the lack of routes for airlines are a problem for KimHae Airport. This study considers the reduction of logistics cost and time due to the expansion of the international airport by anticipating the development of Busan International Airport centered on the ship supplies logistics based on the present point of time and the development plan of Busan Kimhae Airport. In addition, we review the priority of major air routes based on prefabricated logistics, and examine the contributions to the port logistics industry in Busan.

  • Since 2017, South Korea's defense exports have shown the world's highest rate of increase of 177% over the past five years, making it the 8th largest defense exporting country in the world. In particular, the aerospace industry is playing a leading role in the Korean defense industry. Among these K-defense industries, the capabilities of the aerospace industry are closely related to the Sacheon Air Show. Sacheon Air Show is one of the largest aviation events in Korea, and products with expertise in the aerospace field are exhibited and demonstrated. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to seek the revitalization of domestic local airports, especially Sacheon Airport, through the Sacheon Air Show held at Sacheon Airport in Gyeongsangnam-do. The first is the development of various contents, the second is the maximization of expertise using air shows, and the third is internationalization. By actively promoting these measures, Sacheon Air Show will be able to maximize the expertise of K-Defense, recognize it as an international event, and promote the vitalization of Sacheon Airport in Gyeongsangnam-do by securing domestic and foreign participants and visitors.

  • Countries recognize seriousness and concern about aviation terrorism, try to stamp out of it but aviation terrorism has been increasing in the world. Airport security is completely up to the result of security screening for passengers, check-in baggages and cargo at the check point. To complete effectively human and physical screening at the airport, it is essential to secure modernized screening equipment and specialized security screener, and airport security supervisor to supervising them. In this study, A survey conducted to find out the effect on screening equipment operating factors of airport security supervisor's individual attitude. The results of the study are as follow First, the duty view of airport security supervisor meaningfully affect expertise of screening equipment operating factors, satisfaction, reliability, and education and training, national point of view meaningfullly doesn't affect screening equipment operating factors. Second, the working condition effects on the education and training, if the working condition is getting better, intent to change occupation is getting lower. Third, duty stress meaningfully effects on the intent to change occupation, now airport security supervisor works in poor condition. Therefore, airport security supervisor needs to be prude of protecting the airport from the terrorism and various attacks and various kinds of aviation security regulations and procedures and comply with operating standards and keep the life of the country and its people, and needs to change awareness. • As witnessed in September 11 attacks, air terrorism is often the most effective means to achieve their goals, and thereby requires a sophisticated level of security measures. Moreover, considering the nature of air transportation, the prevention of air terrorism demands a wide range of international cooperation and joint efforts such as timely sharing of information related to air terrorism (such as latest terror techniques and list of terrorists) between nations, International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) As most air terrorism can be effectively prevented through security and search activities in airports, this study has focused on researching security measures and issues in major airports around the world, along with the potential measures to improve them. To achieve this effect, this paper offers solutions to preventing air terrorism by exploring appropriate responses to various type of air terrorism, deployment of advanced security and search equipment, techniques to identify terrorists, R&D on equipments to physically take down terrorists and systematic improvements on airport security search process.
