The Effect of Workplace Spirituality of Art Psychotherapists on Perception and Attitude toward Delinquent Youth (예술심리치료사의 일터영성이 비행청소년에 대한 인식 및 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of workplace spirituality of art psychotherapists on the perception and attitudes toward delinquent youths. The subjects of this study included 115 art psychotherapists in Seoul City. The analysis methods were frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 22.0 program. Study results found that the vocational consciousness and transcendental consciousness of art psychotherapists had a significant influence on the perception of delinquent youths, and the inner consciousness, empathy consciousness, and community consciousness did not have a significant effect. Second, it was found that art psychotherapist's inner consciousness, community consciousness, and transcendence consciousness had significant influences on attitudes toward delinquent youths. This means that the higher the art psychotherapist's vocational consciousness and transcendental consciousness, the higher the perception of delinquent youths, and the higher the inner consciousness, community consciousness, and transcendental consciousness, the higher the attitudes toward delinquent youths. The implications of this study are expected to provide basic data for preparing plans to improve the perception and attitudes toward delinquent youths by art psychotherapists.

Factors Influencing Compassion Fatigue among Hospice and Palliative Care Unit Nurses

  • Purpose: This descriptive study aimed to explore nursing workplace spirituality, end-of-life care stress, and resilience as factors influencing compassion fatigue among nurses working in hospice and palliative care units. Methods: Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire completed by 146 nurses at 14 hospice and palliative care institutions across South Korea who had worked in a hospice and palliative care institution for at least 6 months and had experience providing end-of-life care. Data were collected from February 25, 2019 to April 12, 2019, and analyzed using SPSS for Windows version 18.0. As appropriate, descriptive statistics, the t-test, analysis of variance, the Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression were used. Results: The survey results showed that factors influencing compassion fatigue were resilience, subjective health status, current satisfaction with the hospice ward, and end-of-life care stress. Higher levels of resilience, a subjective health status of "healthy", high levels of current satisfaction with the hospice ward, and lower levels of end-of-life care stress were associated with lower levels of compassion fatigue, explaining 42.9% of the total variance. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that resilience is an important factor mitigating compassion fatigue among nurses at hospice and palliative care institutions. Therefore, intervention programs should be developed to reduce compassion fatigue.

  • The purpose of this research is to identify the relationship between EVLN and job insecurity of workers and to establish the mediating effect of perceived organizational obstruction in the relationship with job insecurity and EVLN. For the proof analysis of this research, a survey was done on 350 people on/off line. Summary of the result of the research is as follows. Perceived organizational obstruction has mediating effects in the relationship with job insecurity, exit, voice and neglect. This study contributes to the understanding of perceived organizational obstruction by developing an theoretical model, incorporating the role of job insecurity and EVLN. In conclusion, this study suggests that in the organization developing EVLN, job insecurity and improving workplace spirituality of employees needs to be considered for adaptation.
