Since many accidents have been constantly occurring in the workplace, requirements of Industrial Safety Management have also been increasing. In order to meet the needs and prevent the problems in advance, we designed wireless sensor network system based on PLC. This system is set with amain node including PLC Modem and Zigbee in the every workplace and each wireless sensor node is attached to every worker in the workplace. The main node is supposed to transmit and receive sensor data, and the data which is from a wireless sensor node to the main node is delivered to monitoring PC through PLC. In this paper, it is expected that, by perceiving the realtime situation of the work place through this system, we could prevent the problems in advance and reduce damages by accidents.
The purpose of this study was to reduce safety accidents among food employees in contracted foodservice management companies, and to help provide high-quality foodservice and assistance. For this, a survey on the different opinions of workplace safety and education by employment type and employee perceptions of environment and safety at foodservice operations was carried out. The analysis showed that among the workers many women were irregular employees. For average age, between 40 and 49 was the most frequent, and for work duration, under one year was highest. Both regular employees and irregular employees deemed "enough staff" as the most major factor for good foodservice. The regular employees and irregular employees thought "high indoor temperatures and poor ventilation in the kitchen area" and "bad work cooperation between employees" as the main problems of foodservice operations, respectively. For satisfaction with the efficiency of foodservice production system, irregular employees had higher satisfaction than regular employees. Both regular employees and irregular employees thought "the number of foodservice employees" as the foremost improvement for safety-accident prevention and work-stress improvements. Regular employees, more than irregular employees, thought improvements in foodservice production systems would have a large affect on safety-accident prevention and work-stress improvements of food workers. Both regular employees and irregular employees thought "foodservice employees' safety consciousness" was an important part of safety-accident prevention. Likewise, they responded that "lectures by the person in charge of safety education" was a good methods of safety education, and "once a month" was the best period for safety education. For the difference in perceptions of environment and safety in foodservice systems, regular employees had a higher perception of safety than irregular employees.
With the changes of industrial structure, contents and types in hazardous and dangerous works have been changed considerably. However, the hazardous and dangerous works by defined "Regulation for the hazardous and dangerous work employment restriction" and "Special education for safety and health"have not been amended over twenty years. This study aimed to identify the recent trends of the works by analyzing the death accidents cases from 2004 to 2013 and to present the management methods about future hazardous and dangerous works. The results showed that amount of 1,972 cases among 11,513 death accidents were equivalent to the works presented by "Regulation for the hazardous and dangerous work employment restriction". The amount of death accidents in 'Work of using construction equipment following construction machinery management act' was biggest among the death accidents cases and that of 'Work of handling pressure vessels following high-pressure gas safety control act' didn't show up. For the works in "Special education for safety and health"amount of 1,650 death accidents cases were equivalent. The amount of death accidents in 'Work involving a crane with a capacity of 1 ton or more or work which is carried out with a crane or hoist with a capacity of less than 1 ton in a workplace having at least 5 such machines' presented by "Special education for safety and health"was biggest. Also, death accidents case didn't occurred in three works presented by "Special education for safety and health". It was analyzed that works with low death accidents cases should be needed to study thoroughly the whole disaster research involving nonfatal accidents. This study attempted to provide implications by analyzing the impact of business Owner's safety commitment on industrial accidents and examining the mediating role of management supervisors' safety leadership and worker participation. Analysis was conducted on 2,067 manufacturing sites with 20 to 50 employees in the 10th Occupational Safety and Health Survey data. SPSS waw used to secure the reliability of the measurement variable. Hypothesis vertification was carried out after securing the suitability and validity of the structural model using AMOS. The direct impact of three latent variables on industrial accidents was confirmed: the business owner's safety commitment, the management supervisor's safety leadership, and the worker participation. The employer's safety will and the management supervisor's safety leadership do not directly affect industial accidents, but it has been verified that worker participation has a diret impact on industrial accident reduction. In addition, it has been confirmed that the safety leadership and worker participation of the management. Supervior have a complete mediating effect on the reduction of industrial accidents by mediating with the safety leadership of the management supervior and the participation of the workers. This study analyzed the impact on industrial accidents by dividing the stakeholders constituting the workplace into three classes: business owners, superviors, and workers, but the results suggest that employers and all workers inside the workplace may be organically linked to achieving the goal of reducing industrial accidents. Therefore, in order to establish an autonomous safety management system for safety and health at workerplaces, efforts are needed to reduce industrial accidents in their respective location by forming an organic community among internal stakeholders.

The purpose of this study is to find out how construction sites workers experience adaptation processes in relation to the prevention of safety accidents in the workplace through the method of grounded theory. In order to understand the experience of preventing safety accidents of workers at construction sites, a grounded theory analysis method was chosen. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the first questionnaire was sent to 17 people working in the construction site by e-mail, and the participants of the study were met one by one for in-depth interviews. As a result of this study, the paradigm model of the experience of preventing safety accidents of workers at construction sites was classified into causal conditions, contextual conditions, central phenomena, intervening conditions, action/interactions, and outcomes. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, forming a safety culture that can improve the safety awareness of construction sites is a priority. Second, it is necessary to improve self-management capabilities so that construction workers can accurately diagnose their current state such as their own body, emotion, and cognition and provide appropriate safety education. Third, providing safety education for construction workers with negative thoughts or distorted beliefs about safety accidents needs to include psychological treatment and counseling, such as methods of emotional purification, methods of relieving and managing stress, and methods of removing trauma.
The work history of the workers injured in industrial accidents was recomposed by combining the database on compensation for industrial accidents with the database on employment insurance among those who were newly classified as disabled during the period from 1998 to 2000. It shows that the injured workers mainly returned to the original workplaces, and such workers had higher job retention rate. It is in contrast with the higher separation rate of the workers who started to work at the new workplace after medical recuperation. And it is found that 61% left or lost their jobs out of the injured workers who returned to work, and 77% of the job separators had job tenure less than one year. The analysis based on competing risks model shows that the workers at the smaller workplace have the shorter the employment duration, and the longer job-searching period has the negative effect on the employment duration of the job losers. In addition, the longer employment duration at the first job after medical recuperation is more effective on the reemployment and job stability after separation.

This study analyzed the present operation state and cases of safety accidents of inflammables and explosives in army camps by focusing on staffs in charge for safety supervision of inflammables and explosives in army camps. Moreover, through this analysis, the study surveyed the actual safety supervision conditions in a workplace related to the hazardous materials, the safety plan for inflammables and explosives, the quality of education for safety supervision, the consciousness of safety supervisors for the safety supervision of inflammables and explosives, and so on. On basis of this research, the actual conditions of inflammables and explosives in army camps were investigated. By not only establishing the systematic safety plan but also developing the safety supervision education programs to manage inflammables and explosives in army camps safely, this study tries to arouse military officers' interest and ensure a safe workplace. Furthermore, this study presents public relations and revitalization of the education to make safety supervisors for inflammables and explosives and the interested parties recognize the hazards of safety accidents, by cutting them off from safety accidents in advance.
With regard to industrial accidents, large corporations and public institutions are continuously reducing disasters through systematic management. However, industrial accidents continue to increase in small-scale workplaces. In order to ensure the safety of workers, the government supports the purchasing of industrial accident prevention equitments through financial support projects for small business. However, despite the financial support, the effectiveness of the project is hardly verified. In this study, we analyze the policy effectiveness of the financial support program for industrial accident prevention in a small-scale workplace using the difference-in-difference method. To achieve research purposes, we used the data on the occurrence of industrial accidents, the status of workplaces by year and the data on the status of workplace benefiting from financial support program for the past 10 years. This study is significant in that it analyzed the net effect of financial support programs for disaster reduction in the small business site.
Background; In the event of an industrial accident, the appropriate choice of hospital is important for worker health and prognosis. This study investigates whether the choice of hospital by the employer in the case of industrial accidents affects the prognosis of injured employees. Methods; Data from the 2018 Panel Study of Workers' Compensation Insurance in Korea were used in an unmatched case-controlled study. The exposure variable is "hospital selection by an employer," and the outcome variable is 'worker's disability." Odds ratios (ORs) were estimated by modified Poisson regression and adjusted for age, gender, underlying disease, injury severity, and workplace size and stratified by industrial classification. The group at increased risk was analyzed and stratified by age, gender, and area. Results; In the construction industry, hospital selection by the employer was significantly associated with increased risk of disability (adjusted OR 1.26; 95% confidence interval [CI]; 1.20-1.32) and severe disability (adjusted OR 1.38; 95% CI; 1.08-1.76) among the injured. Female and younger workers not living in the Seoul capital area were more at risk of disability and severe disability than those living in the Seoul capital area. Conclusions; Hospital selection by employers affects the prognosis of workers injured in an industrial accident. For protecting workers' health and safety, workplace emergency medical systems should be improved, and the selection of appropriate hospitals to supply treatment should be reviewed.
We need a new approach to reduce serious occupational accidents. This needs a commitment to secure employer's safety, characterized by a culture that prevents occupational accidents and appropriates safety expenditure. This study analyzed the factors that relate how a safety management commitment to safety climate in the workplace and safety expenditure affects the generation of occupational accidents. The summary of the result is as follows. First, both safety climate and safety expenditure have direct negative effects on the generation of occupational accidents (-0.136 [p = 0.010] and -0.100 [p = 0.008] respectively). Second, the safety management commitment has no significant direct effect towards generating occupational accidents (p = 0.105). Third, the safety management commitment has positive effects toward both building a safety climate and increasing safety expenditure (0.664 [p = 0.000] and 0.178 [p = 0.000] respectively). The safety management commitment however, has negative effects on generating occupational accidents (-0.090 [p = 0.004] through safety climate and -0.018 [p = 0.004] through safety expenditure). Hence, the safety management commitment has positive effects on decreasing occupational accidents through safety climate and safety expenditure (-0.108 [p = 0.004]). In conclusion, the safety management commitment by employers reduces occupational accidents through its impact on safety climate and safety expenditure in work places. Therefore, in order to reduce accidents, the employer should focus on creating a safety climate and investing in safety expenditure in the work place.
