  • The shipboard working environment of coastal patrol ship is very inferior to the ground working environment and it cause the avoidance of shipboard working and the aging of crew. Especially the noise in ship cause on occupational shipboard working hardness of hearing. Hence to reduce the shipboard working fatigue is necessary by the security of the comfortable shipboard working environment and residence environment. in this paper, firstly we evaluate the shipboard working by suing the measurement results of the evaluation results of the shipboard working environment.

  • We analyzed the cutting mechanism of laver harvesting machine in the sea area near Gooam Port in Goheung, Jeollanam-do, and investigated the change and efficiency of laver collecting operation in the working ship. The laver working ship slides uniformly from the bow to the upper part of the laver collecting machine on the deck and cuts the wet laver attached to the bottom of the net at the blade of the havesting machine. The laver farming net, which was loaded with laver turrets on the deck by gravity and collected primitives, consisted of a ship structure that led to the stern side and into the sea. The working ship operation is in harvesting process while driving in a S-shape that is separated by one space to efficiently collect the laver net. During laver working ship operation, the speed was 0.51 m/s in the access stage, 0.56 m/s in the havesting stage, and 0.52 m/s in the exit stage. Considering the cutting edge life and production efficiency of the laver harvesting machine, it is appropriate to harvest 1.15 to 1.26 kg/rpm by operating at a rotational speed of about 700 to 800 rpm rather than forcibly harvesting the product at high speed. On the deck of the working ship, 959.7 kg of starboard and 1048.7 kg of center were 964.7 kg of port side. Based on the starboard, 9.3% of the central part and 0.5% of the port side appeared. The reason for this was due to the difference in harvest time according to the turning direction of the working ship.

  • With the modernization fund of the government, construction of new passenger ships make the level of interior design is improved, but the space where the crew is working is still inadequate. This study is to investigate the color environment of the Bridge Deck and Engine Room among working spaces of passenger ships. It aims to improve the mental health of crews and set up a safe working environment by presenting color design, and suggest the specificity of ship's working space and color value with matching the color environment.

  • This study proposed an estimation method of allowable wave height for loading and unloading of the ship and evaluation of effective working days considering moored ship motion that is affected by sip sizes, mooring conditions, wave periods and directions. The method was examined validity by comparison with wave field data at pier $8^{th}$ in Pohang New Harbor. The wave field data obtained with wave height of 0.10~0.75 m and wave period of 7~13 s in ship sizes of 800~35,000 ton when a downtimes have occurred. On the other hand, the results of allowable wave height for loading and unloading of the ship in this method have obtained with wave heights of 0.19~0.50 m and wave periods of 8~12 s for ship sizes of 5,000, 10,000 and 30,000 ton. Thus this method well reproduced the field data respond to various a ship sizes and wave periods. And the results of this in Korea are didn't respond to various the ship sizes and wave periods, and we h method tended to decrease in 16~62 percent when have considered long wave, and it is decreased in 0~46 percent when didn't consider long wave than design standards in case of the ship sizes of 5,000~30,000 ton, wave period of 12 s and wave angle of $75^{\circ}$. The allowable wave heights for loading and unloading of the ship proposed by design standards in Korea have found that overestimated on smaller than 10,000 ton. On the other hand, the rate of effective working days considering ship motion at pier $8^{th}$ in Pohang New Harbor reduced in 6.5 percent when compare with the results without considering ship motion.

  • According to the PSPC (Performance Standard for Protective coatings) rule, the edge preparation must keep 2R or 3-pass grinding. The stiffener plate edge grinding of the ship inside is manually progressed by worker and worked with just one pass grinding. In addition, the poor working condition cause grinding workers to avoid working in them, and the quality is determined by the skill-level of a worker. This research developed optimal tool for edge milling. In order to milling various collar plates edge, this research developed vision system that can recognize the edge points and it developed a program that operator can adjust the amount of cutting and speed, and add various features so that milling quality would be improved. So, this research focused on overcoming the difficulties in working condition and development of automated milling machine for ship stiffener plate.

  • A mechanism of hovering flight of small insects which is called the Weis-Fogh mechanism is applied to ship propulsion. A model of the propulsion mechanism is based on a two-dimensional model of the Weis-Fogh mechanism and consists of one or two wings in a square channel. A model ship equipped with this propulsion mechanism was made, and working tests were performed in a sea. The model ship sailed very smoothly and the moving speed of the wing was small compared with the advancing speed of the ship.

  • The core of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier cargo containment system (CCS) is to store and transport LNG safely under temperatures below -163 degrees Celsius. The secondary barrier of the LNG CCS is adopted to prevent LNG leakage from CCS to the ship's hull structure. Recently, as the size of the LNG CCS increases, various studies have been conducted on the applied temperature and load ranges. The present study investigates the working condition-dependent bonding strength of the PU15 adhesives of the secondary barrier. In addition, the mechanical performance is analyzed at a cryogenic temperature of -170 degrees Celsius, and the failure surface and failure mode are investigated depending on the working condition of the bonded process. Even though the RSB and FSB-based fracture mode was confirmed, the results showed that all the tested scenarios satisfied the minimum requirement of the regulation.
