  • A sample of 654 elementary school children(330 boys and 324 girls) and their mothers responded to three questionnaires regarding mother's job satisfaction and parenting behavior and children's problem behavior. Results showed that working mothers perceived themselves as more permissive/neglecting compared with non-working mothers. Children of working mothers perceived themselves as hyperactive, anxious, withdrawn, aggressive, and immature. Parenting of working mothers with higher job satisfaction was more warm/accepting; their daughters perceived themselves as less anxious, withdrawn, and immature than children of mothers with lower job satisfaction. Children of rejecting/restrictive working mothers, especially girls, reported hyperactive, withdrawn, aggressive, and immature behaviors. Children of permissive/neglecting working mothers were immature. Warm/accepting parenting of working mothers played mediating roles between their job satisfaction and maturity of their daughters' behavior.

Method: The subjects were 260 nurses enrolled in 11 hospitals located in S and P city. Questionnaire method was utilized for data collection. Data was analyzed by SPSS statistical program. Results: 86.5% of the nurses were working 3 shifts. 70.8% of nurses agreed that they decided to give up nurses because of very irregular working pattern. They want to work 40hrs/weeks, and agree to applying to Flexible working pattern. There was statistically significant between career(F=2.839, p=.039), working place(F=3.086, p=.047), the mind of change of occupation(F=.479, p=.002) and expected life pattern change after applicating for Flexible working pattern. Conclusion: We need to Various Flexible working pattern model. As well as we need to public information about nurses' Flexible working pattern.

  • Nowadays, large-scale office buildings have been multistoried, mechanized, and functioned with economic growth. These buildings have improved and developed technical and designated respects in varied society. Even though these buildings are in improved situation, working places which are one of the most important parts have not developed enough their functions and shapes. Working environments that were ignored have come a big issue to rise efficiency and productivity. Working functions and work's opinions did not examine and analyze because of careless cognition of working places. In these reason, workers are engaged in inconvenient surroundings that already set improper way or not to develope environments that obstructs productivity. Working places which were ignored in the past have come a big issue to rise productivity and efficiency. Now, the goal of this research is to reform working places more efficient and functional by examining by examining working environment and proper arrangements.

  • The cash flow forecasting is normally done by contractors in construction industry at early stages of the project for contractual decisions. The decision making in such situations involve uncertainty about future cash flows and assessment of working capital requirements gains more importance in projects constrained by cash. The traditional approach to assess the working capital requirements is deterministic in and neglects the uncertainty. This paper presents an alternate approach to assessment of working capital requirements for contractor based on fuzzy set theory by considering the uncertainty and ambiguity involved at payment periods. Statistical methods are used to deal with the uncertainty for working capital curves. Membership functions of the fuzzy sets are developed based on these statistical measures. Advantage of fuzzy peak working capital requirements is demonstrated using peak working capital requirements curves. Fuzzy peak working capital requirements curves are compared with deterministic curves and the results are analyzed. Fuzzy weighted average methodology is proposed for the assessment of peak working capital requirements.

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to develop new K-OWAS on the basis of the anthropometry of Koreans considering works in shipbuilding and heavy industry for evaluation whole-body working postures. Background: Work Related Musculoskeletal Disorders(WMSDs) were a leading cause of sick leaves and injuries in the industries of our country. Especially, awkward working postures and handling of heavy weight are known as a main cause of WMSDs. OWAS, RULA and REBA are much used as the method for evaluating the awkward working postures. OWAS is the working postures evaluation method that can be used for the evaluation of whole-body working postures. OWAS was the method made based on the anthropometry of the foreigner, working postures and weight does not fit our work state. Method: This method was evaluated considering the anthropometry of the Koreans, working postures and weight in shipbuilding and heavy industry work state in Korea. Results: Correlation of action level of OWAS and subjective discomfort for each body parts were not statistically significant($p{\geq}0.1$). But correlation of action level of K-OWAS and subjective discomfort for torso and waist were statistically significant($p{\leq}0.1$). Conclusion: K-OWAS was suitable in the evaluation of upper body including torso and waist. Application: New method for whole-body working postures from this study prevent WMSDs and help improvement of working environment and design of working method.

  • This study surveyed the perception and demand for the child care policy and child care service of working mothers with children under age 6. The subjects were 266 working mothers in Seoul and Kyoung-Gi Province. Data were collected with the questionnaire method and analyzed by spss-win program, including median, mode, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The result of this study can be summarized as follows. (1) The working mothers considered both parents have the responsibility on child care and strongly demanded the national support on child care. (2) The working mothers prefered own mother and relatives to child care center as a carer of infants and toddlers, but prefered child care center for children age 3-5. (3) The working mothers demanded the increase of finantial support for family and child care center. (4) The working mothers focused on 'the security and care Program' and focused next on 'diet and health care program' in child care service. (5) The working mothers did not nearly know about the accreditation system of child care centers. This results suggest that the national and social support for child care service is an essential part in promoting children's and the working mothers' welfare.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate parenting stress changes in both continuous working and continuous non-working mothers after the birth of their first child and their relationships with the cognitive variables about child-rearing, using the 3rd Panel Study on Korean Children(PSKC) by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education(KICCE). The results revealed that the parenting stress of the non-working mothers was higher than the stress experienced by the working mothers. The increase in stress was only found both groups between the second year and the third year of childbirth. The total explanatory power of the knowledge, values and expectations regarding their children saw stress increase for the working mothers, but saw it decrease for the non-working mothers. Finally, the emotional value surrounding parenthood was the most powerful variable for both groups, with the exception of the non-working mothers' stress, as experienced in the first year.

  • In our modern society along with high speed economic growth and improvement of living conditions and through concentration of people in cities cars became essential necessities for people living in modern society. Due to social and economic conditions and for the need of recycling of materials and as a countermeasure for waste of materials importance of car service is stressed. In this connection need for improvement of working clothes which are suitable for safety and working efficiency in a difficult working environment is essential. However most of working clothes now being sold in the market are produced without consideration of ergonomic aspects of wearers of working clothes. For this reason there is need for basic research on development of working clothes which improve safety and comfort for working of car service workers. Accordingly in this study this author carried out research on fitness, level of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, suitability for movement and level of demand for improvement in working clothes with focus on workers at car service firms and direction for its improvement was explored. This study is intended to provide basic data for development of functional pattern of working clothes for car service workers in future.
