의복행동과 직업과의 관계연구 - 대전지역의 여성을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Relationship between Clothing Behavior and Occupations of Women in Dae Jeon)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate clothing behavior of women in Dae Jeon and to find out the relationship between clothing behavior and occupations. Measures selected for this study was‘Creekmore Scales of Eight Clothing Variables’, (Creekmore, 1966). The questionnaires were distributed to women in Dae Jeon including teachers, women working in a government office, women working in a company, nurses, women working in a bank, women working in a department store and the business center, technicians, women working in a merry making place, and house wives. For statistical analyses of the data from 400 respondents, F-test, and t-test were used. The results were as follows: 1. There were partially significant relationship between clothing behavior and occupations. The significant variables were modesty, comfort, approval, and dependence among the eight clothing variables. a) The group of highest interest in modesty and comfort was house wives and the group of lowest interest was women working in a merry making place. b) The group of highest interest in approval was women working in a merry making place and the group of lowest interest was women working in a bank. c) The group of highest interest in dependence was teachers and the group of lowest interest was nurses. 2. Partially significant differences were found in clothing behavior between a working women and house wives: The house wives were more interest in modesty, comfort, management. 3. Partially significant difference were found in clothing behavior between White-collar workers and Blue-collar workers were more interest in attention, approval, interest.

The Current Working Conditions in Ugandan Apparel Assembly Plants

  • Background: The present rapid shift of industrialization from developed to developing countries requires developing countries to understand issues related to work organization, management, and working conditions. There are many factors slackening production, of which working conditions is part. A complete inquiry into the workers' working conditions can enable managements to reduce risks in the workplaces and improve productivity. Understanding and awareness of the benefits of workplace research and a probe into the working conditions in the Ugandan apparel assembly plants are urgently required. Methods: A total of 103 (70 women and 33 men) workers from five different plants were interviewed. Together with the top management of various plants, questionnaires about the workers' opinions of their physical working conditions were prepared. Data was collected using two methods: (1) questionnaire; and (2) observation of the workers during their work. Results: The results indicated that poor plant working conditions were mainly contributed by the workers' social factors and the management policies. Conclusion: The government, together with the management, should work to improve the working conditions in the apparel assembly plants, as it greatly affects both.

근로빈곤과 건강불평등 (Working Poverty and Health Disparities in Korean Workers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between working poverty and health status among Korean workers. Methods: This study is secondary analysis of data extracted from the 2018 Community Health Survey. For the present analysis, 23,575 of the working poor whose household disposable income is below 50.0% of the national median and 111,443 of the working nonpoor were selected. Based on existing literature, a set of variables were chosen from the Community Health Survey. Health status was measured using self-rated health status measure, Patient health Questionnire-9, and EuroQol-5dimension. Results: The proportion of subjective unhealthy status, depressive symptoms, and poor quality of life were significantly higher among the working poor than among the working nonpoor. After adjusting for general characteristics and health behavior factors, the working poverty was a significant predictor of subjective unhealthy status (AOR=1.32, 95% CI=1.25~1.40), depressive symptoms (AOR=1.61, 95% CI=1.38~1.88]), and poor quality of life (β=-0.02, p<.001). Conclusion: The current study confirmed the health disparities between the working poor and the working nonpoor. Therefore, health care programs and policies are required for reducing the health inequalities among the workers.

최저임금이 근로빈곤 탈출에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of The Minimum Wage On Working Poor's Poverty-Exit Possibility)

  • 본 논문은 최저임금 상승의 근로빈곤 완화효과를 실증적으로 분석한 논문이다. 이러한 목적을 위해서 근로빈곤지위에서 근로비빈곤으로 이행하는지, 혹은 실업 및 비경활상태로 이행하는지를 한국노동패널자료를 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구는 개인의 미관찰 이질적 특성을 통제한 다수준 다항로짓모형을 활용하였다. 분석결과를 보면 최저임금 상승은 근로빈곤에서 근로비빈곤의 이행 가능성을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 최저임금 상승과 고용지위 유지와는 별 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 최저임금의 상승은 근로빈곤의 상태를 개선하는데 효과적인 것으로 파악되었다.

미취학 자녀를 둔 취업모의 사회적 안녕감에 관한 연구 (Study of the Social Wellbeing of Working Mothers of Preschool Children)

  • This study examined the social wellbeing of working mothers of preschool children with the aim of identifying relationships between social wellbeing and influencing factors, focusing on the individual, relationship, and work environment of the mothers. Data on 390 working mothers were used for this study. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 program and descriptive statistics. Pearson's correlation analyses and hierarchical regression analyses were performed. The results show that social wellbeing has significantly positive correlations with education, monthly household income, number of children, age of the first child(8 and over), social capital for childcare, division of childcare, maternal role values, spouse's beliefs about paternal parenting involvement, and family-supportive work environment, as well as significantly negative correlations with weekly working hours, sociological ambivalence, spouse's beliefs about father's breadwinner role and gender-role values, job overload, and gender-role attitudes of coworkers. In addition, hierarchical regression revealed that spouse's beliefs about paternal parenting involvement and a family-supportive work environment were significantly positive predictors of working mothers'social wellbeing, whereas working mothers'sociological ambivalence toward their roles, job overload, and gender-role attitudes of coworkers were significantly negative predictors of working mothers'social wellbeing. These results point to ways of changing education and policy to improve the social wellbeing of working mothers.

Circadian Rhythms Characteristics of Nurses Providing Direct Patient Care: An Observational Study

  • Background: In today's modern world, longer working hours, shift work, and working at night have become major causes of the disruption of our natural circadian rhythms. This study aimed to investigate the effects of the type of shift work (rotating vs. fixed day), duty period (on-duty vs. off-duty), and working period within each shift (nighttime vs. daytime) on the circadian rhythm characteristics of nurses who provide direct patient care. Methods: This cross-sectional study used a purposive sampling method. Cosinor analysis was applied to analyze the actigraphy data of nurses providing direct patient care for seven consecutive days. The linear mixed effects model was then used to determine any variances between shift type, duty period, and working period within each shift for the nurses. Results: The mesor value did not differ according to nurses' shift type, duty period, and working period within each shift. The amplitude was statistically higher in on-duty nurses and in daytime working hours. The acrophase was significantly delayed in nighttime working hours. As well as nurses in rotating shift had experience. Conclusion: Our findings revealed that the peak activity of nurses occurs significantly later at night while working and nurses working during nighttime hours may have a weaker or less distinct circadian rhythm. Thus, this study suggests that limits be placed on the number of rotating nighttime shifts for nurses.

암병동간호사와 일반병동간호사의 건강상태와 직무스트레스 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study regarding Health Condition and Work Stress of Nurses Working in Cancer Ward and General Ward)

  • The health of a nurse is very important because her mental and physical health can influence toward nursing patients directly, Especially, Cancer patients are growing annually. Also, terminal cancer patients' nursing and dead place are increasingly using hospital and the period of nursing for cancer patients are increasing. Nursing for cancer patients are different with acute disease. Therefore, I analysed comparing nurses' health working in cancer and general ward so that nurses working at cancer ward could be developed as a professional nurse, and I wanted to establish the foundation of nursing administration and reasonable manpower management to supply good quality of nursing to patients. In my research, I selected 117 nurses working in cancer ward and 134 nurses working in general word to analyse the stress rate and nurse's health comparing nurses working in general ward and cancer ward. The survey was conducted of nurses working in cancer ward nurses in 2 university hospitals, nurses working in a cancer hospital, and general ward nurses working in 3 public hospital. Also, the data was collected from Sep. 13, 2001 to Sep. 28, 2001. As health measuring tool, I used Cornell Medical Index(CMI) which are developed to fit Koreans by Ko Ungrin and Park Hang-bas (1980) using Cornell Medical Services which were designed by Weiser, Brosman, Mittelman, Wechler, Wolff in Cornell University(1945). As working stress measuring tool, I used Questionaries which were designed by Kim Mae-ja and Ku Mi-ok(1984) and then developed by Bae In-sook(1996). For managing the data, I used frequency, percentage, ${\chi}^2$ verification, t-test, and F-test (ANOVA). And in the case of significant data(p<.05). I did Duncan's test for post verification. The mutual relation between health condition and working stress rate have been conducted using Pearson's Correlation Coefficient. Followings are the results of my research. 1. Two groups showed significant differency at age after testing homogeneous character between two groups (${\chi}^2$ =9.919, p=.007). 2. Comparing two group's health condition, cancer ward(average 19.35${\pm}$18.34) were higher than general ward(14.42${\pm}$10.59) and showed statistical significant differency(p=.009). And, comparing two group's mental condition, cancer ward(9.00${\pm}$9.79) were higher than general ward(7.13${\pm}$6.35) and statistically no differency. 3. After comparing two group's working stress rate, the rate of cancer ward nurse's working stress(3.36${\pm}$.50) is higher than general ward nurse (3.32${\pm}$.48). There are no significant differency. However, in the detailed verification test, there were significant differency at inappropriate compensation (t=3.254, p=.001) and medication issue (t=2.170, p=.031). 4. After comparing health condition at general points, physical health condition showed significant differency at age(p=.020), the number of children (p=.015), religion (p=.015), position(p=.005), career(p=.008), working satisfaction(p=.003), activity after office hour(p=.045); and mental health condition showed significant differency at position(p=.010), career (p=.017), working satisfaction (p=.003). 5. After comparing the working stress rate according to general points, there were significant differency at working satisfaction (F=5.285, p=.006), predicted nursing(F=3.822, p=.023). 6. At the relation of health condition and working stress rate between two groups. physical and mental condition showed significant relation with working stress rate. i.e, if a nurse's health condition is not good, she are feeling much more stress than others. After considering all the factors in my research, I found that the health condition and stress rate of cancer ward nurses is much higher than general ward nurses. Considering that cancer ward nurses is necessary to care for increasing cancer patients with mental and physical nursing, the less stress for cancer ward nurses is very important to develop nursing quality and working efficiency by keeping good health condition, specializing cancer ward nurses. Therefore, we need following studies to find the factors which are effecting to cancer ward nurses' health and specialization. Also, we need to improve managing working condition to decrease working stress by improving working condition.

운전자본관리가 기업성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Working Capital Management on Corporate Performance)

  • 본 연구는 한국거래소의 유가증권시장에 상장된 기업들을 대상으로 운전자본관리가 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 운전자본과 기업성과는 각각 매출액 대비 순운전자본의 비율과 총자산영업이익률로 측정한 변수를 이용하였다. 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전체 표본을 대상으로 실시한 분석에서 운전자본과 기업성과 간에 유의한 관계를 확인할 수 없었다. 둘째, 운전자본이 음(-)인 집단을 대상으로 실시한 분석결과, 운전자본의 계수가 유의적인 +0.013로 나타나 운전자본이 기업성과에 유의한 양(+)의 영향을 미침을 확인하였다. 반면, 운전자본이 양(+)인 집단의 경우, 운전자본의 계수가 유의한 -0.016으로 추정되어 운전자본과 기업성과 간에 유의적인 음(-)의 관계가 존재함을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 최근 해외연구에서 밝혀진 바와 같이 국내 기업에서도 운전자본의 적정보유수준이 존재할 수 있음을 시사한다. 셋째, 재무적 제약을 고려한 운전자본과 기업성과 간의 관계를 분석한 결과, 재무적 제약이 운전자본과 기업성과의 관계에 별다른 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 재무적 제약을 지닌 기업과 그렇지 않은 기업 간에 특별히 다른 운전자본정책이 실행되지 못하고 있음을 시사한다. 그동안 국내 상장기업을 대상으로 운전자본과 기업성과의 관계를 다룬 연구가 거의 존재하지 않는다는 점을 고려할 때 본 연구는 향후 관련 연구의 활성화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

야간 근무 및 장시간 노동과 주관적 불면증 여부의 관계: 제3차 근로환경조사 (Association Night-Shift and Long Working-Hours Effects on Subjective Insomnia in Korean Workers: The Third Korean Working Conditions Survey)

  • Working the night-shift and long working hours may be linked to insomnia. The purpose of this study is to determine the association between night-shift work and long working-hours with regard to subjective insomnia in Korean workers. This study was based on the Third Korean Working Condition Survey (KWCS) conducted on workers in 2011. The total number of individuals included in the analysis was 34,708 workers. Adjusted odd ratios showed statistically effective associations to insomnia. For night-shift work, the results were 2.71 (1.53 - 4.82) for night shift work by experts and managers, 2.95 (2.11 - 4.11) for night-shift work by officers, and 3.90 (2.05 - 7.42) for night-shift work by engineers compared with day duty. For long working hours, the scores were 2.43 (1.68-3.51) for >52 working hours by officers, 1.72 (1.15 - 2.58) for those in sales and service compared to ${\leq}40$ working hours. We suggest the need for Korean workers to target specific groups when creating policies related to reasonable environmental conditions.

외환위기 이후 한국의 근로빈곤 설태에 관한 연구 (A Study on Working Poor in Korea After the Financial Crisis)

  • 본 연구는 한국노동패널조사의 제 1차~6차년도의 자료를 이용하여 근로빈곤(working poor)의 규모 및 특성, 그리고 동태적 이행과정을 분석하고 있다. 분석결과 빈곤가구의 절반 이상이 근로빈곤(working poor)가구이며, 취업자가 있는 가구의 상당수는 빈곤상태에 놓여 있다. 그러나 근로빈곤가구는 빈곤의 진입과 이탈이 매우 활발하고 미취업가구에 비해 빈곤에 빠질 위험성이 낮으며, 빈곤에 빠지더라도 곧장 벗어날 확률이 높다. 가구주의 연령이 높고 저학력일수록 근로빈곤의 위험성이 높은 것으로 추정되고 있다. 또한, 임금근로가구에 비해 자영업가구와 임금 자영업 혼합가구의 근로빈곤 위험성이 높다. 근로빈곤의 해소를 위해 빈곤 취약계층의 능력개발과 좋은 일자리의 창출이 중요하다. 특히 좋은 일자리의 창출은 고용문제의 해결을 위해서뿐만 아니라 소득불평등의 완화를 위해서도 중요하다. 자영업가구에 대한 정책적 관심의 제고와 더불어 근로빈곤계층에 대한 합리적인 사회복지 지원책의 마련도 요구된다.
