학습과 망각에 대한 작업자들의 이질성 정도가 시스템 생산성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Worker Heterogeneity in Learning and Forgetting on System Productivity)

  • Incorporation of individual learning and forgetting behaviors within worker-task assignment models produces a mixed integer nonlinear program (MINLP) problem, which is difficult to solve as a NP hard due to its nonlinearity in the objective function. Previous studies commonly assume homogeneity among workers in workforce scheduling that takes account of learning and forgetting characteristics. This paper expands previous researches by considering heterogeneous individual learning/forgetting, and investigates the impact of worker heterogeneity in initial expertise, steady-state productivity, learning and forgetting on system performance to assist manager's decision-making in worker-task assignments without tackling complex MINLP models. In order to understand the performance implications of workforce heterogeneity, this paper examines analytically how heterogeneity in each of the four parameters of the exponential learning and forgetting (L/F) model affects system performance in three cases : consecutive assignments with no break, n breaks of s-length each, and total b break-periods occurred over T periods. The study presents the direction of change in worker performance under different assignment schedules as the variance in initial expertise, steady-state productivity, learning or forgetting increases. Thus, it implies whether having more heterogenous workforce in terms of each of four parameters in the L/F model is desired or not in different schedules from the perspective of system productivity measurement.

  • 과거 산업화 시대와 비교하여 현대 지식사회에서는 노동력의 중심이 육체노동에서 지식 노동으로 이동되었지만, 지식근로자의 생산성에는 극적인 성과가 나타나지 않고 있다. 따라서 "현대경영학의 아버지"라고 불리는 피터 드러커의 사상을 기반으로 전문가, 성과, 집중, 자기관리, 인생의 후반부의 지식근로의 요인과 지식근로자의 생산성 결정요소인 과업, 혁신, 자율성, 교육, 품질, ICT활용능력과의 연관성에 대하여 연구한 결과, 지식근로의 요인에 있어서는 성과>집중>자기관리>전문가, 인생의 후반부 순으로 연관성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히 지식근로자에게 모든 생산성 결정요소와 영향요인으로는 성과로 나타났다. 따라서 지식근로자는 "성과"를 중심으로 자신의 분야에서 끊임없는 정보의 탐색과 활용을 통하여 목표를 달성하고, 조직과 사회에 공헌하면서 더불어 살아가는 공동체를 형성하는 데 앞장서야 할 것이다.

임목수확방법별 벌도작업 생산성 및 비용 분석 (Productivity and Costs of Felling Operation for Three Harvesting Methods in Mixed Forest Stands)

  • 본 연구는 동일한 임분조건에서 작업자 2명(A: 작업경력 5년 이하, B: 작업경력 15년 이상)을 대상으로 임목수확방법별(전목수확 전간수확 단목수확)에 따른 벌도작업의 작업생산성과 비용을 분석하였다. 전목작업에서 작업자 A의 생산성은 $10.3m^3/SMH$, 작업비용은 2,066원/$m^3$이며, 작업자 B는 생산성 $12.7m^3/SMH$, 작업비용 2,201원/$m^3$으로 산출되었으며, 시간당 생산성은 작업자 B가 다소 높았지만, 작업비용은 작업자 B의 높은 임금으로 작업자 A가 약간 낮게 나타났다(p>0.05). 전간작업의 경우 작업자 A와 B의 생산성은 각각 $2.2m^3/SMH$$3.3m^3/SMH$이며, 작업비용은 각각 9,890원/$m^3$과 8,459원/$m^3$으로, 작업자 B가 A보다 생산성은 높게, 작업비용은 낮게 산출되어 작업의 숙련도에 따라 큰 차이를 보이고 있었다(p<0.05). 단목작업에서 작업자 A와 B의 생산성은 $2.3m^3/SMH$$3.0m^3/SMH$, 작업비용은 9,584원/$m^3$, 9,395원/$m^3$으로, 작업자 B의 생산성이 높고, 작업비용은 낮게 산출되었다(p>0.05). 이와 같이 벌도작업 중에서도 임목의 절단작업과 같이 높은 숙련도를 요구하지 않는 단순작업에서는 오히려 작업자의 임금이 생산비용에 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가지정리와 같이 임지 내 벌도목 사이를 이동하며, 작업하는 것은 작업자의 높은 숙련도가 작업경비의 저감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단된다.

  • In this paper, we developed a simulation model of a car parts assembly line to improve the system performance such as worker's utilization balancing, productivity. This simulation model has been developed using QUEST, a true 3D discrete event simulation pakcage that is designed for modeling and analysis of manufacturing systems. We have suggested the results obtained to improve the system performances of an existing production line.

  • Improve of productivity is a key for the development of a company, which can be pursued in the apect of material factor and personal factor. And the motives of worker for their job is more influenced by the chance of incentive compensation or self-development than by participation in management and safety of their post ect. Contingency theory is one of the theories that cope with this study Therfore, this study describes incentive compensation for satisfying worker desire related company's productivity, and be presented to the aspect of contingency accounting.

  • This study deals with the productivity improvement on a flow production system with the consideration of line-balancing. In a flow production system, similar product models are produced on a same assembly line, the predefined process order and the limitation of total worker number. The system can be increased the work-in -process(WIP) inventory and the worker's idle time. In this study, the worker assignment model is developed to assign evenly workload of process to each product model in such a manner that each process has the different number of worker. This worker assignment model is the mathematical model that determines worker number in each process such that the idle time of processes is reduced and the utilization of worker is improved. We use a simulation technique to simulate the production line proposed by the mathematical model and apply real production line. With the result of simulation, this study analyzes the propriety of production line and proposes the alternatives of new production line

  • In manufacturing industry, machining technology for metal cutting processes has been considered traditional and economic dimensions such as production cost, production time and quality of a final product. However, owing to governmental regulations and the change of owner's cognizance, the safety of the workers becomes important in those fields. In this paper, the operation planning system developed as a key component of CAPP(Computer Aided Process Planning) system is introduced for milling operations. The main issue in the system is to determine the cutting conditions in achieving a balanced consideration of productivity and worker's safety. For this reason, the system performs the modification process of standard cutting conditions to satisfy those requirements. Related to machining safety in metal cutting, representative and habitual mistakes that operators perform without considering carefully the characteristic of machine or work piece are described and then the detailed algorithm and functions of the developed system is introduced and discussed.

  • This research is to propose an applicable framework for real-time health surveillance and safety monitoring at construction sites. First this study aims at finding (1) a framework for health surveillance that is likely to benefit employers and employees in the industry, (2) a valid way to identify factors or conditions with potential health concerns that can occur under particular work conditions, (3) An effective way to apply wireless/mobile sensors to construction workers using real-time/live data transmission methods, and (4) A relationship between a worker's vital signs and job site environment. Biosensors for physiological response and devices for weather/work related data are to collect real-time data. Relationships between jobs and physiological responses are analyzed and factors that touched particularly contributing to certain responses are identified. When data are incorporated with tasks, factors affecting tasks can be identified to estimate the magnitude of the factors. By comparing work and normal responses possible precautionary actions can be considered. In addition, the study would be lead to improving (1) trade-specific dynamic work schedules for workers which would be based on various factors affecting worker health level and (2) reevaluating worker productivity with health status and work schedule, thereby seeking ways to maximize worker productivity. Through a study, the paper presents expected benefits of implementing health monitoring.

임금과 인사고과 : 대기업 인사데이터를 활용한 실증분석 (Wage and Performance Rating : New Evidence from Personnel Data of a Korean Large Firm)

  • 본 연구는 임금과 생산성의 관계에 대한 선행 연구에서 근호자의 생산성 지표로서 인사고과 정보를 활용한 Medoff and Abraham과 Flabbi and Ichino의 연구를 한국 대기업의 인사데이터(2000년, 제조업 근로자)에 적용하여 재현하였다. 임금함수의 OLS 추정과 임금 및 인사고과 분포를 활용한 다항로짓함수 추정을 통해 분석한 결과, 근로자 개인의 생산성을 통제한다고 하더라도 연공임금은 계속 나타났다. 이는 선행연구와 동일하게 연공임금을 설명함에 있어 인적자본 이론보다는 인센티브 이론이 더 적절하다는 것을 시사한다.

사업체 단체급식소의 유형에 따른 급식운영실태 평가 (Assessment of foodservice management practices in the employee feeding operations according to type of workers)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the industry foodservice management practices and to suggest guidelines for the effective foodservice management. The survey for the analysis was conducted through the questionnaires to dietitians. They were divided into two groups : the site color worker and the blue color worker. The questionnaires were received for a response rate of 73.2%. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SAS programs for descriptive analysis, $x^2$ test, T-test, F-test, and Fisher's LSD. The results of the study can be summarized as follows : 1) The level of education of dietitians and food cost in the employee feeding operations for the blue color worker was lower than the employee feeding operations for the white color worker. 2) The labor productivity indices were not significantly different according to types of workers. But in the employee feeding operations for the blue color worker, full-time foodservice employees worked more than 10.7 hour per week than their counterpart. This indicates the full-time foodservice employees in the employee feeding operations for the blue color worker performed more loaded work compared to the employee feeding operations for the white color worker. 3) Equipped rate of facilities in the employee feeding operations for the blue color worker was low especially in the food preparation and cooking processes.
