Objectives : Using several waves of the Panel Study of Worker's Compensation Insurance(PSWCI), this study analyzed the effect of female workers on the health and lifestyles of korean workers in the sample year of 2014 (The first survey was completed in August-October 2013;, the second survey was completed in August-October 2014.) Methods : The research subjects were 24,672 women among workers who responded to the 2014 PSWCI panel report. Statistical analyses were performed with SAS version 9.4 (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, USA). Results : According to the results of the analysis, women showed differences in female temporary workers, working conditions, classification of occupation, working period, and health conditions based on work-time conditions. The results show that female workers with disabilities have a direct positive effect on life satisfaction as we anticipated in the hypothesis. Conclusions : Female workers should focus on factors identified in this study when developing employment interventions to improve a health promoting lifestyle for their work environment.
The purpose of this study was to investigate donning and doffing independence of the disabled individuals. The subjects of this study were who had kinetic disabilities on upper-limbs. 31 women and 38 children were participated in the survey. They were classified with six groups according to their upper-limbs' kinetic ability levels. Three upper-limbs' kinetic abilities were adopted: Lifting arms up to the chest, twisting shoulder to throw arms toward the back, and buttoning clothes by oneself. The independency of donning and doffing of 14 upper-body garment styles were evaluated by subjects. The donning and doffing independency of 14 garment styles was significantly differentiated by the level of kinetic abilities and garment styles. The person who able to button clothes by oneself could don and doff clothes by oneself. The results also revealed that the independency of donning and doffing was significantly different between cerebral palsy and apoplexy groups. The persons having a stroke of apoplexy were more likely to be able to dress independently than the persons with cerebral palsy. The persons with a paralysed arm were more likely able to wear ready-to-wear clothes of various styles. The donning and doffing independency was also significantly differentiated by the styles of garments. The tight fit style garments were more difficult to be dressed independently than the loose fit style garments. The jacket and shirts, which were buttoned from neck to bottom, were more difficult to be dressed independently than T-shirts.
This study analyzed the hazard of unemployment and the influencing factors on the rate. Data came from the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED), 2010-2012, which is a longitudinal survey for 5,092 disabled people in Korea. For the main purpose of this study, the life-table method was used for describing the patterns of unemployment duration by disabled, and the cox proportional hazard model was used to identify significant factors on the unemployment duration. The results were as follows. First, according to the life table analysis, the unemployment rate to remain until the longest period of unemployment(25month) is 90.5%, and the rate of entry into the labor market was only 9.5%. Overall, the unemployment maintenance rate was high, the unemployment escape rate decreased after 12month. Second, looking at the results from the cox proportional hazards model, the unemployment escape possibility were increased for those who are male, are non-public benefit recipient with disability, have mild disability, and have less discrimination experiences. With these results, disability discrimination act which can reduce the disability discrimination in employment site should be strengthened. Also, the scheme of Nation Basic Protection Program should be modified to attract the employment of recipients with disability. Finally, policy targets having employment escape difficulty, such as women with disability, people with severe disabilities should be departmentalized. And employment service is provided in accord with the individual needs and characteristics.
This study used secondary data of the Illinois Subsidized Guardianship Waiver Demonstration, Chicago Public Schools and administrative data of the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of a participatory rehabilitation program on sit-rise and rise-to-walk test performances, and perception and motor skills in adults with medically vulnerable individuals and, adults with developmental disabilities in particular. Seventeen adults with developmental disabilities participated in a participatory rehabilitation program using resistance bands and exercise balls, for 60 minutes once weekly over 13 weeks. Their performances were measured before and immediately after the intervention, and 12 weeks after. The findings were as follows. In the sit-rise test, the number of times rising from sitting posture increased after the intervention versus before, but the difference was not statistically significant. In the rise-to-walk test, the performance showed statistically significant difference over time, and the post-hoc test showed a significant effect after the intervention versus before. There was no significant difference in perception and motor skills. In sum, the participatory rehabilitation program positively influenced dynamic balancing related to functional activities but had no significant effect on perception and motor skills, which is related to motor control and motor learning. It is suggested that to increase the participation in community activities, reduce fall risk, and improve dynamic balancing abilities in adults with developmental disabilities, participatory rehabilitation programs should be utilized to promote the physical wellbeing.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the caregiving stress and depression of spouses who support adults with physical disabilities, calculate the activity of daily living (ADL) of the disabled and determine the correlation of each area and the influence of their ADL on the caregiving stress and depression of spouses. This study was performed on 86 spouses of the disabled who were receiving rehabilitation treatment in two hospitals located in S and K cities from July to August 2016. According to the results, the total caregiving stress scores were $71.43{\pm}17.78$ and the economic and psychological stresses among low items were higher than the other items. The total depression score was $50.34{\pm}26.41$, which was slightly higher than the average of normal adults. The caregiving stress and depression were high for aged women, for cases of high caregiving expense and time, for young disabled and for stroke disease. Factors that affected the caregiving stress were the age of the disabled and the duration of their disability; their ADL had no influence on the caregiving stress. The result showed that the depression affected their age, disabled type and grade, and ADL. Actual policy support capable of giving economic, physical, and psychological assistance should be prepared to reduce caregiving stress and depression.
