This paper reveals the influence of urban and social contexts on the early building layout of Japan Women's College (JWC), one of the first women's colleges in Japan. According to the unpublished plans, the main building and other major structures, at the first stage, formed a three-sided quadrangle with site-wide organization, which was similar to contemporary National colleges. This impressive design, however, disappeared in the final plan. Although the school is the largest in student number and in campus ground size compared to other contemporary private colleges at its establishment, the subdivided land acquired in the private land market forced JWC to give up the organic composition of buildings. Under the framework of donation-based finance, it needed to start construction quickly for further support from the public, which prevented the school from acquiring enough time to adjust land ownership. These constitute the major differences with national schools. The founder's emphasis on the physical exercises, which reflected the public interest in physical strength of mothers in the time of wars, gave preference to securing sufficient open space over the order of buildings.

The subjects were categorized in two groups, symptom group and no symptom group. We measured the temperatures of abdomen, upper and lower limb and back. We studied the difference of DITI between two groups by Student T-test using SPSS for windows(version 17.0). Results: The general characteristics were not different statistically. Temperatures of abdomen and back of two groups were not different statistically. Temperatures of both LR3 of symptom group were statistically higher than no symptom group. The difference of both PC8 and LU4, both LR3 and ST32 of symptom group were statistically higher than no symptom group. Conclusion: The results suggest that women suffering from Postpartum disease shows high temperatures on hand and foot. It seems that postpartum disease patients tend to have blood deficiency. DITI can be useful to diagnose San Hu Pung. More studies to diagnose San Hu Pung would be needed.
As other major, students have difficulties to be successfully adapted to computer science major without some interest and skill to computer programming. In this paper, we try to find successful factors for computer science major freshmen students to computer programming. The factors we focused are programming experience before college entrance, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, application motivations to computer major, existence of mentors, satisfaction to his/her computer department, student's holland job aptitude code. After analysis, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, satisfaction to computer department, some holland job aptitude code are significant to their successful adaptation to computer major. Also, we found the holland job apptitude code is closely related to student's satisfaction to their major for engineering students including computer science students. Our analysis results will be a suggestion for designing computer science education program with students who enters college without some aptitude or preparation to his major.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence depressive symptoms, and the correlates of depressive symptoms, and to propose countermeasures for individual depression risk factors among college students. Methods: One university and three colleges in Jeju-do were selected as the study population and a total of 1000 students were selected by multiphasic cluster sampling to represent each department and year within each college. Of the 945 total respondents, 421 were men and 524 were women. The Beck Depression Inventory was used to evaluate depression and the BDI STEN score was used to assess depressive symptoms. Multiple logistic regression analysis was performed for comparisons. Results: 1. The prevalence of depressive symptoms among men was 14.4%, while among women the level rose to 26.8%. 2. Those with poor life satisfaction scores were significantly more likely to have depressive symptoms than those with good life satisfaction (odds ratio (OR) = 2.62; (95% confidence interval (95%CI), 1.483-4.629). 3. Students over 23 years old were significantly more likely to have low levels of depressive symptoms than those under 18 (OR = 0.439; 95%CI, 0.247-0.779). 4. Groups with poor body image satisfaction had higher levels of depressive symptoms when compared to respondents who had good body image (OR = 2.847; 95%CI, 1.341-6.045). 5. Students with poor perceived health status were significantly more likely to have high levels of depressive symptoms than those with good perceived health status (OR = 2.029; 95%CI, 1.157-3.557). Conclusion: Universities and colleges should provide education programs, such as health education that facilitates the development of a healthy body image. In addition, they should focus on various scholarships that could improve satisfaction with student life, especially for alienated students.
