Examining on the Relationship Between Interdisciplinarity and Research Impact with Analyzing the Journals of Library and Information Science Field (학제성과 연구 영향력의 상관관계에 관한 연구: 문헌정보학 분야 학술지를 대상으로)

  • As interdisciplinary research has been dominant in various fields, the purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between interdisciplinarity and research impact in the field of Library and Information Science. For a data set, ten journals ranked as the top of 2011 JCR's in terms of JIF (Journal Impact Factor) were selected. The citation data of 1,873 articles from the ten journals were collected from the WoS during the period from 2006 to 2010. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, as network analysis was conducted to investigate the interdisciplinarity of LIS field, interdisciplinarity indicators, and research impact factors were statistically analyzed. The findings of this study confirmed the interdisciplinary knowledge structure of the LIS field as previous studies identified. More importantly, this study demonstrated that a positive correlation existed between interdisciplinarity represented as betweenness centrality and research impact.

  • Sentiment analysis and opinion mining is the field of study that analyzes people's opinions, sentiments, evaluations, attitudes, and emotions from written language Opinion mining and sentiment analysis(OMSA) as a research discipline has emerged during last 15 years and provides a methodology to computationally process the unstructured data mainly to extract opinions and identify their sentiments. The relatively new but fast growing research discipline has changed a lot during these years. This paper presents a scientometric analysis of research work done on OMSA during 2007-2016. For the literature analysis, research publications indexed in Web of Science (WoS) database are used as input data. The publication data is analyzed computationally to identify year-wise publication pattern, rate of growth of publications, research areas. More detailed manual analysis of the data is also performed to identify popular approaches (machine learning and lexcon-based) used in these publications, levels (documents, sentences or aspect-level) of sentiment analysis work done and major application areass of OMSA.

Metabolic Syndrome Prediction Model for Koreans in Recent 20 Years: A Systematic review (최근 10년간 한국인 대상 대사증후군 예측 모델에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰)

  • Metabolic syndrome is closely associated with cardiovascular disease, there is increasing attentions in prevention of metabolic syndrome through prediction. The aim of this study was to systematically review the literature by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing articles of predicting metabolic syndrome in Koreans. For systemic review, data search was conducted on Global journals Pubmed, WoS and domestic journals DBPia, KISS published in 2011-2020 year. Three keyword 'Metabolic syndrome', 'predict', and 'korea' were used for searching under AND condition. Total 560 articles were searched and the final 22 articles were selected according to the data selection criteria. The most useful variable was WHtR(AUC=0.897), most frequently used analysis method was logistic regression(63.6%), and most accurate analysis method was XGBOOST(AUC=0.879) for predicting metabolic syndrome. Prediction accuracy was slightly improved when sasang constitution types was used. Based on the results of this study, it is believed that various large-scale longitudinal studies for the prediction and management of the Metabolic syndrome in Korean should be followed in the future.

  • KSCD(Korea Science Citation Database)를 기반으로 국내 과학학술지 논문에 대한 인용색인을 구축하였으나, 국내 학술지에 대한 인용현황만으로는 연구자들이 원하는 자신들의 논문의 인용현황을 포괄적으로 알기 어려우므로 해외 인용현황을 알기 원하는 요구에 부응하기 위해, WOS의 API를 활용한 인용현황 서비스를 구현하였다. 이에 기반하여 그 결과에 대한 데이터 분석을 수행하고 국내연구자의 SCI 전체 논문 분석결과와 비교하였다.

A Textual Research on Hu ShunShen (胡舜申)'s Life and Works (호순신(胡舜申)의 생애와 저술에 관한 연구)

  • This study consider the life and works of Hu ShunShen(胡舜申) who was the author of JiRiSinBub(地理新法) which the representative FengShui book in Choson dynasty. His adult name is RuJia(汝嘉). He was born in on September 6, 1091 at JiXi(績溪) in China as a son of Ho Xian(胡咸). He left his hometown with his family to avoid war and settled down in HuZhou(胡州). He took up an official post with his brother's YinPu(蔭補), and held several provincial official posts. After serving as vice governor(通判) of ShuZhou(舒州), he became supervisor of taoist temple(崇道觀) in TaiZhou(台州) and retired from office. After burying his father, he took an interest in fengShui(風水) and studied for a long time. People say that JiangXiDilixinfa(江西地理新法) is the well-known FengShui book written by him. When he was 74 years old, he suggested opening SheMen(蛇門) gate and XuMen(胥門) gate in SuZhou(蘇州) castle by "WoMenZhongGao(吳門忠告)". But it didn't come ture. He died March 9, 1177 at the age of 87 and was buried in HuZhou(胡州). His elder brother Hu Shunzhi(胡舜陟) and nephew HuZi(胡仔) is well-known. He had a son named Hu wei(胡偉) who served pacification commissioners of JiangXi(江西宣撫使). His Works were YiSiSiZhouLu(乙巳泗州錄), YiYouBiLuanLu(己酉避亂錄) as essay and YinYangBeiYong(陰陽備用), JiRiSinBub(地理新法), "WoMenZhongGao(吳門忠告)" as fengShui text.

Comparison of Research Trends in Blended Learning in Korea and China (한국과 중국의 블렌디드 러닝 분야의 연구동향 비교)

  • Blended Learning is one of the most popular methods in education for encouraging active learning and improving student learning effectiveness, and it is regarded as one of the most effective methods for universities to attract students. Based on the cultural dimension theory, this paper examined blended learning research trends in both South Korea and China, which are culturally similar but also differ. The research methods include keyword analysis and visualization. Academic papers on blended learning indexed by WoS, KISS, and CNKI from 1990 to June 2022 were collected and analyzed. According to the findings, since the outbreak of COVID-19, the common research topic of blended learning has been subdivided by forming clusters in various research fields. Korea and China exhibit similarities to global research trends while exhibiting differences based on cultural background. The cultural dimension theory-based analysis reveals a common pattern that is especially long-term oriented. The findings can suggest significant implications for designing what role national culture plays in forming patterns of education and research and for developing blended learning with effective impacts in a multicultural educational environment.

Analysis of Differences between Countries in the Proportion, Method and Citation-inducing Effect of Open Access (OA) Articles (Open Access (OA) 논문의 비중과 방식, 피인용 유도 효과에 대한 국가 간 차이 분석)

  • This study empirically analyzed the proportion and method of Open Access (OA) in Korea, China, Japan, the United States, United Kingdom based on the Web of Science (WoS) papers. In addition, through the verification of the moderating effect, it was verified whether there is a difference in the effect of the amount of citation depending on the maturity of OA according to the countries or academic fields. As a result of the analysis, the proportion of OA was the highest in the UK at 62.7%, and the lowest in China at 38.0%. Second, the UK and US had a high proportion of indicators through self-archiving and APC-based Gold Hybrid, while only the Gold indicators were found to be prominent in China and Korea. Third, in the UK, US and Japan, the higher the proportion of OA, the greater the effect of inducing the citations. However, Korea (B=-0.00003, p<0.01) and China (B=-0.00001, p<0.01) showed the opposite direction. In addition, in most academic fields, the OA proportion had an effect of inducing citation, but a negative effect was found in the engineering field (B=-0.00002, p<0.01).

A Convergence Study of Surface Electromyography in Swallowing Stages for Swallowing Function Evaluation in Older Adults: Systematic Review (노인의 삼킴 단계별 삼킴 기능 평가를 위한 표면 근전도 검사의 융합적 연구 : 체계적 문헌고찰)

  • In this study, a systematic review was conducted to analyze the method of applying sEMG to evaluate the swallowing function of the elderly at each stage of swallowing, and to help objectively measure the swallowing stage of the older adults in clinical practice. From 2011 to 2021, 7 studies that met the selection criteria were selected using Pubmed, Scopus, and Web of Science (WoS). As a result of this study, the older adults and adults were divided into an experimental group and a control group and the swallowing phase was analyzed using sEMG only for the older adults. sEMG was used to evaluate swallowing in the oral and pharyngeal stages, and the sEMG attachment site was attached to the swallowing muscle involved in each stage. The collected sEMG data were filtered using a bandpass-filter and a notch-filter, and were analyzed using RMS, amplitude, and maximum spontaneous contraction. In this study, it was found that sEMG can be used as a tool to objectively and quantitatively evaluate the swallowing function in stages. Therefore, it is expected that this study will activate various studies that incorporate sEMG to evaluate the swallowing function in stages.

Analysis of Bacterial Community Structure in Bulk Soil, Rhizosphere Soil, and Root Samples of Hot Pepper Plants Using FAME and 16S rDNA Clone Libraries

  • A culture-independent and -dependent survey of the bacterial community structure in the rhizosphere and soil samples from hot pepper plants was conducted using 16S rDNA clone library and FAME analyses. Out of the 78 clones sequenced, 56% belonged to Proteobacteria, 4% to high G+C Gram- positive group, 3% to Cytophyga-Flexibacter-Bacreroides, and 32% could not be grouped with any known taxonomic division. Among the 127 FAME isolates identified, 66% belonged to low G+C Gram-positive bacteria (Baciilus spp.) and 26% to high G+C Gram-positive bacteria. In a cluster analysis, the results for both methods were found to be strikingly dissimilar. The current study is the first comparative study of FAME and 165 rDNA clonal analyses performed on the same set of soil, rhizosphere soil, and root samples.
