  • This paper concerns a joint replenishment problem for a single buyer who sells multiple types of items to end-customers. The buyer periodically replenishes the inventory of each item to a preset order-up-to-level to satisfy the end customers' demands, which may be non-stationary. A joint replenishment policy characterized by variable order-up-to-levels is proposed for the buyer who wishes to minimize the expected cost of operating the retail system. The proposed policy starts each period by calculating the expected cost of ordering and not ordering action based on the information of the current inventory position and forecasted demand for the upcoming period. It then takes advantage of an integer programming model to get a cost effective joint replenishment plan. Computer experiment was performed to test efficiency of the proposed policy. When compared with the most efficient policy currently available, our policy showed a considerable cost savings especially for the problems having non-stationary demands.

Methods: Data were collected in 2010 and 2011 through individual in-depth interviews. Ten nurses who worked in general hospitals in the Gwangju area during the 5 18 Democratic Uprising were interviewed using open-ended questions. Each interview lasted about 2~3 hours. Verbatim transcripts were analyzed using Van Kaam's method of phenomenological analysis. Results: Four categories emerged from the analysis: anxiety about the incident which was experienced for the first time; progress of the 5 18 events and relationship to participants; changes in nursing environment; retrospection and wishes related to the 5 18 incident. Conclusion: This oral history study revealed more clearly of the experiences of nursing activities in the Gwangju area during the 5 18 Democratic Uprising. The data may provide a basis for writing history nursing in the community, and can be a basis for guidelines covering nursing care in crisis.

  • The international marine system was plunged into the age of divided occupation with the adoption of the United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea in April, 1982. The exclusive economic zone of 200 Nautical miles set up by the Convention confirms the assertions of many coastal states whose fishing industries are not well-developed. However, it is unfavorable to the countries whose fisheries are being carried on in deep-sea, because the coastal state has sovereign rights to conserve and manage living resources in it. Under the circumstances the Korean deep-sea fisheries had to find ways out of the difficulties. The ways may be divided into two ways, namely, licensed fishing and joint-venture fishing. The former type becomes unfavorable to foveign fisheries because of decreasing quarts, rising fees and remunerations. The latter type properly meets the wishes of countries concerned and has some merits. However, there is a possibility of bearing the risk in case of investment in developing countries. The insurance system is effective to make up for the loss from the risk, although not perfect. The deep-sea fisheries depressed now by accumulated difficulties need more financial support from the Goverment for the active promotion of overseas joint-venture.

  • In this paper, we propose a multi-agent system for assisting those who need help in taking objects around him/her. One may imagine this kind of situation when a person is lying in bed and wishes to take an object on a distant table that cannot be reached only by stretching his/her hand. The proposed multi-agent system is composed of three main independent agents; a vision agent, a robot agent, and a pass agent. Once a human expresses his/her intention by pointing to a particular object using his/her hand and a finger, these agents cooperatively bring the object to him/her. Natural communication between a human and the multi-agent system is realized in this way. Performance of the proposed system is demonstrated in an experiment, in which a human intends to take one of the four objects on the floor and the three agents successfully cooperate to find out the object and to bring it to the human.

  • This study was planned and carried out in an attempt to investigate health status and life style. Using a guidline developed by the researcher open-ended interviews were done with a hundred and sixty Korean elderly people, from April 17, through June 2, 1988. The data were analyzed by frequencies, means, percentile scores and Chisquare-test. Major health deviations identified are ; arthritis, blood pressure discrepancies, neuralgia, and powerlessness. Discomfort in relation to elimination(75%) and to rest-activity, especially to the activities of daily living(78%) are experienced ; 11% revealed to be in need of assistance from others. One or more sensory discrepancies are complained by 75% of the subjects. Only 20% of the subjects reported being satisfied with the life-time achievements. Factors revealed that 'descendants' were the major source of pleasure. Leisure hours were spent mostly 'watching TV' 'Healthy life', 'harmonious family life' and 'frequent communication with the family' were the three most frequent wishes towards their family members. 'Insurance for ageing', 'free health care', 'work', 'cultural facilities' and 'warm attention' were the request toward the society.

  • A Beoseonbongip is a pouch that holds patterns for making Beoseons. This study aimed to identify the aesthetic and symbolic contents of the embroidery patterns by analyzing the kind, combination types, expression and arrangement types of patterns. In total, 140 Beoseonbongip artifacts, which were mostly made in the Joseon Dynasty, were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed. The results indicated that about 83% of the total had flower patterns. Various kinds of embroidery patterns used for Beoseonbongips were newly identified. About 73% of the total had different kinds of patterns. Pattern combination types were identified by the kinds of patterns, the number of paired patterns, and the traditional painting styles used. The patterns of Beoseonbongips were expressed schematically more than realistically or abstractly. Beoseonbongips with different patterns on the four triangle tips of the front face and Beoseonbongips with the same/similar patterns on two opposite tips of the front face were observed more than the other types. On the back face, the embroidery patterns were symmetrically arranged, showing various division structures. It was inferred that wishes (e.g., marital harmony, fertility, good health and longevity, happiness, and wealth and fame) were expressed through the symbolic patterns embroidered on the Beoseonbongips. In terms of Korean traditional beauty, the union with nature, the harmony of yin and yang, symmetric balance, and neatness were also emphasized as a esthetic characteristics of Beoseonbongips.

  • In the process of online trading, many unexpected conflicts may occur. The consumer wishes to perform transactions with a seller by trusting the seller's listings, but there are times when even major companies such as Kakao edit their original listings. When the seller edits their listing, it is extremely difficult for the consumer to prove and deal with the problem. If they don't deal with them carefully they may be accused of denigration. This study proposes a consumer protection system to resolve this problem. In case a problem occurs, proof that the original listing was edited can be submitted to a judge in court by using this system, thus preventing these types of problems from happening. If this system is installed, both the seller and consumer know that the terms of contract cannot be falsely changed to the advantage of either side, so the source of the problem can be prevented. This study analyzes the reasons behind the conflicts and presents a systematic way of preventing the problem. This method does not present a financial burden, and provides a way for transactions to be held based on trust for the seller and consumer.

  • This Waterproofing Material which mainly consisted of 2 components of waste tire chip powder and waste glass powder. This Study is abut development of waterproofing Material, There is not tried in domestic. The most Motive of this Study wishes to recycle resources and get the economic performance for waterproofing Material The result of this Study is as followings. (1) Dense waterproofing floor is formed between waste tire chip by Coupling Agent(the most effective method to encourage adhesive strength and raise cohesion of material by combination.) (2) Expected to bring effect to shorten construction period at spot application potentially space-time in moisture aspect. Also, shortening effect of construction period and spot work are considered to be gone efficiently selecting pre-mix construction method. (3) This development Waterproofing material has elasticity that nature side compatibility of cement ingredient and plastic Emulsion have when utilize and constructs waite resources (being waste tire chip and waste glass powdered).

Possibility of value elevation or cost reduction must choose member that is effectively for active and effective application of VE technique. In this study, when enforce design VE examining for weight decision corrosion protection been using in weight grant composition estimation technique, target choice process wishes to suggest formality and method that can be achieved effectively.
