  • For monitoring forest fires, a real-time system to prevent fires in wider areas should be supported consistently. However, there has still been a lack of the support for real-time system related to forest fire monitoring. In addition, the 'real-time' processing in a forest fire detection system can lead to excessive consumption of energy. To solve these problems, the intelligent data acquisition of sensing nodes is required, and the maximum energy savings as well as rapid and accurate detection by flame sensors need to be done. In this regard, this paper proposes a node built-in filter algorithm for intelligent data collection of sensing nodes for the rapid detection of forest fires with focus on reducing the power consumption of the remote sensing nodes and providing efficient wireless sensor network-based forest environment monitoring in terms of data transmission, network stability and data acquisition. The experimental result showed that battery life can be extended through the intelligent sampling of remote sensing nodes, and the average accuracy of the measurement of flame detection based on the distance is 44%.

  • The rapid growth of algae occurs can induce the algae bloom when nutrients are supplied from anthropogenic sources such as fertilizer, animal waste or sewage in runoff the water currents or upwelling naturally. The algae blooms creates the human health problem in the environment as well as in the water resource managers including hypoxic dead zones and harmful toxins and pose challenges to water treatment systems. The algal blooms in the source water in water treatment systems affects the drinking water taste & odor while clogging or damaging filtration systems and putting a strain on the systems designed to remove algal toxins from the source water. This paper propose the emerging In-Situ self-diagnosable smart algae sensing device with wireless connectivity for smart remote monitoring and control. In this research, we developed the In-Site Algae diagnosable sensing device with wireless sensor network (WSN) connectivity with Optical Biological Sensor and environmental sensor to monitor the water treatment systems. The proposed system emulated in real-time on the water treatment plant and functional evaluation parameters are presented as part of the conceptual proof to the proposed research.

  • A forest fire occurs mainly as natural factor such as wind, temperature or human factor such as light. Recently, the most of forest fire prevention is prediction or prevision against forest fire by using remote sensing technology. However in order to forest fire prevention, the remote sensing has many limitations such as high cost and advanced technologies and so on. Therefore, we need to multisensor integration system that utilize not only remote sensing but also in-situ sensing in order to reduce large damage of forest fire though analysis of happen cause and prediction routing of occurred forest fire. In this paper we propose a multisensor integration system that offers prediction information of factors and route of forest fire by integrates collected data from remote sensor and in-situ sensor for forest fire prevention. The proposed system is based on wireless sensor network for collect observed data from various sensors. The proposed system not only offers great quality information because firstly, raw data level fuse different format of collected data from remote and in-situ sensor but also accomplish information level fusion based on result of first stage. Offered information from our system can help early prevention of factor and early prevision against occurred forest fire which transfer to SMS service or alert service into monitoring interface of administrator.

  • A data error inspection algorithm for wireless digital data communication was developed. Original data converted By wireless digital data error inspection algorithm. Wireless digital data is high possibility to get distortion and lose by noise and barrier on wireless. If the data check damaged and lost at receiver, can't make it clear and can't judge whether this data is right or not. Therefore, by wireless transmission data need the data error inspection algorithm in order to decrease the data distortion and lose and to monitoring the transmission data as real time. This study consists of RF station for wireless transmission, Water Level Meter station for water level measurement and Error inspection algorithm for error check of transmission data. This study is also that investigation and search for error inspection algorithm in order to wireless digital data transmission in condition of the least data's damage and lose. Designed transmitter and receiver with one - chip micro process to protect to swell the volume of circuit. Had designed RF transmitter - receiver station simply by means of ATMEL one - chip micro processing the systems. Used 10mW of the best RF power and 448MHz-449MHz on frequency band which is open to public touse free within the limited power.

  • In this paper, a wireless sensing system for structural field evaluation and rating of bridges is presented. The system uses a wireless platform integrated with traditional analogue sensors including strain gages and accelerometers along with the operating software. A wireless vehicle position indicator is developed using a tri-axial accelerometer node that is mounted on the test vehicle, and was used for identifying the moving truck position during load testing. The developed software is capable of calculating the theoretical bridge rating factors based on AASHTO Load and Resistance Factor Rating specifications, and automatically produces the field adjustment factor through load testing data. The sensing system along with its application in bridge deck rating was successfully demonstrated on the Evansville Bridge in West Virginia. A finite element model was conducted for the test bridge, and was used to calculate the load distribution factors of the bridge deck after verifying its results using field data. A confirmation field test was conducted on the same bridge and its results varied by only 3% from the first test. The proposed wireless sensing system proved to be a reliable tool that overcomes multiple drawbacks of conventional wired sensing platforms designed for structural load evaluation of bridges.

  • This paper investigates an efficient transmission scheme for the remote wireless sensors to receive information which is rarely discussed in the integrated remote wireless sensor and multibeam satellite networks (IWSMSNs). The networks can be employed to exchange sensing information for emergency scenario, ocean scenario, and so on, which are isolated from available terrestrial networks. As the efficient transmission link is important to the IWSMSNs, we propose a hybrid full frequency (HFF) precoding by taking advantage of frequency reuse and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) precoding. Considering energy efficiency and sinks fairness are crucial to transmission link, thus the HFF precoding problems are formulated as transmit power minimization (TPM) and max-min fair (MMF) received signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) problems, which can be transformed to indefinite quadratic optimization programs. Then this paper presents a semi-definite programming (SDP) algorithm to solve the problems for the IWSMSNs. The promising potential of HFF for the real IWSMSNs is demonstrated through simulations.

  • In this paper, we report a high-precision wireless gap sensor based on a surface acoustic wave (SAW) device. The sensing element is a parallel-plate capacitor whose dimensions are $3{\times}3\;mm^2$, and is attached to the SAW device as an external load. The SAW device, equipped with an RF antenna, serves simultaneously as a signal conditioner and an RF transponder. The center frequency of the SAW device is 450 MHz. The wireless gap sensor prototype exhibits a resolution of 100 nm and a sensing range of $50{\mu}m$. The proposed sensor system can be used for remote, high-precision gap measurement in hard-to-reach environments.
