An IPv6 based Fast Handover Deployment Scheme for WiBro Networks (광대역 무선 인터넷 망에서 IPv6 기반의 고속 핸드오버 도입을 위한 방안)

  • With the recent growth in demand for high-data rate multimedia services in the wireless environments, the Mobile Broadband Wireless Access (MBWA) technologies, such as WiBro (Wireless Broadband internet) system, are gradually coming into the spotlight. Unlike the conventional mobile communication networks based on cellular system, the WiBro system basically consists of IP based backbone networks that will be ultimately deployed by Ipv6 (IP version six) based backbone networks according to the All-IP trend for the network evolution. In such wireless mobile environments, it is needed to support the mobility management protocol on network layer as well as physical layer and Medium Access Control (MAC) layer in WiBro system. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a fast handover scheme for improving the handover performance in IPv6 based WiBro system and show that the proposed scheme achieves loss-free and low handover latency during inter-subnet movement of the mobile stations through the simulation.

  • We address the data confidentiality for wireless broadband (WiBro) networks. In WiBro, as the channel is wireless in nature, it suffers from passive and active attack. Passive attack, for example is to decrypt traffic based on statistical analysis and active attack is to modify traffic or inject new traffic from unauthorized mobile stations. Due to high mobility, frequent session key distribution is a bottleneck for the mobile stations. In aspect of WiBro, there is a communication between mobile station to base station, and also in mobile station to mobile station. It is expected to ensure data confidentiality while maintaining minimum overhead for the resource constrained mobile stations. In this paper, we proposed a security framework based on the concept of hyper-encryption to provide data confidentiality for wireless broadband networks.

The services through internet-based applications using WiBro communication-based is increasing. WiBro service in the Internet-based applications when using the service, the application may need to analyze the vulnerability. In this paper, we use the Internet when in WiBro service, to analyze the vulnerability. And, Internet-based applications for vulnerabilities that could lead to hacker attacks is analyzed. It will be studied that security measures through analysis of vulnerability of WiBro services and applications.

  • Request about fast diffusion of internet and high-capacity multimedia service is increasing day after day. Because existent wireless LAN is short range, if subscriber is far away in base station transceiver system(Base Station), subscriber's quality of service becomes low, and wileless internet is expensive. Lately, WiBro(Wireless Broadband Internet) system that is developed in domestic by world first, is high-speed portable internet service that is situated in middle area of mobile phone and wireless LAN. In this paper, service traffic model and characteristics are analyzed to provide multimedia service based on IEEE 802.16 BWA accomplishes base of WiBro and simulation is conducted according to various traffic mixing ratio. Finally, on the basis of these simulation results, maximum allowable number of subscriber per cell is calculated.

  • Currently the telephone service using Internet grows and the recent introduction of a smart phone is expected to accelerate the trend. In particular, considering the domestic situation that the wireless broadband (WiBro) system deployed over the nation, the telephone service over WiBro can be a solution toward its fast expansion. Unlike telephone service over a conventional telephone network or mobile network, however, internet telephone cannot guarantee it service quality, which can be severer in a wireless environment such as a WiBro network. Therefore, a more strict and systematic management for controlling the quality of internet telephone service over WiBro in a more efficient way. As the first step to establish the management system, this paper proposes a scheme to manage the quality of internet telephone service over WiBro and introduces a software developed for the purpose. The developed software is installed on a user terminal and facilitates efficient service quality management by measuring the quality of internet telephone service over WiBro in terms of VoIP metric, network metric, and wireless metric.

Performance Improvements of WiBro System Using the LVQ Blind Equalization (LVQ 자력등화를 이용한 와이브로 시스템의 성능 개선)

  • WiBro(Wireless Broadband Internet) is the standard of high-speed portable internet based on OFDMA/TDD (Orthogonal frequency division multiple access / Time division duplexing) techniques, and the subset of consolidated version of IEEE802.16e Wireless MAN standard. In this paper, we propose performance improvements of WiBro system using the LVQ(Learning Vector Quantization) blind equalization. Proposed method used the prefiltering LVQ neural network blind equalization in the Broadband WiBro system receiver. The prefiltering LVQ neural network constellates 16QAM that is transmitter data shape and the blind equalization removes ICI(Inter Carrier Interference). To verificate the proposed method usability, the MSE(Mean Square Error) and the BER(Bit Error Rate) are simulated. The simulation results shown that is improved the performances of the proposed WiBro system using the LVQ blind equalization than the existing WiBro system.

In this paper, we propose the design method of WiBro system using the SOFM Blind Equalization. Proposed design method used SOFM neural network blind equalization with Bussgang algorithms in the Broadband 16 QAM WiBro system receiver.   • Interference effects of ultra-wideband devices using the frequency band from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz on wireless broadband are evaluated. The ultra-wideband emission power spectral density that would be necessary to protect a wireless broadband station is considered. Also, an analytic scheme based on a system level simulation of a WiBro system is proposed.
