  • In China, the traditional method of artificial and periodical cruise is still adopted for the AtoN management, which has brought many disadvantages to the work of the AtoN management, such as non real-time, fallibility, and low efficiency However, with the rapid development of AIS technique, now AIS equipments have been widely installed on ships, and on the other hand China Maritime Safety Administration (abr. China MSA) is carrying out the scheme of AIS base station network in china, based on which the digital AtoN will develop in the future. According to what have been analyzed above, this paper puts forward a design of AtoN wireless surveillance system based on AIS. The system consists of AIS on AtoN, AIS base station and AtoN management center. It can provide such functions as the information gathering, managing of AtoN and the service of navigation assistance. This paper gives the whole design including the work theory, the hardware structure and the software scheme of the system, and finally gives the simulation software of the AtoN management center. The AtoN wireless surveillance system brought forward by this paper will be more efficient with less repair cost and less work of the supervisors. It will bring revolutionary progress in the navigation aids system in China.

  • In the design of mobile wireless communication network, BSC(Base Station Location), BSC(Base Station Controller) and MSC(Mobile Switching Center) are the most important parameters. Designing base station location, the cost must be minimized by combining various, complex parameters. We can solve this Problem by combining optimization algorithm, such as Simulated Annealing, Tabu Search, Genetic Algorithm, Random Walk Algorithm that have been used extensively for global optimization. This paper shows the 4 kinds of algorithm to be applied to the optimization of base station location for communication system and then compares, analyzes the results and shows optimization process of algorithm.

  • Preserving energy of sensor node in wireless sensor network is an effort to prolong the lifetime of network. Energy of sensor node is very crucial because battery powered and irreplaceable. Energy conservation of sensor node is an effort to reduce energy consumption in order to preserve resource for network lifetime. It can be achieved through efficient energy usage by reducing consumption of energy or decrease energy usage while achieving a similar outcome. In this paper, we propose optimization of energy efficient base station assisted hierarchical routing protocol in wireless sensor network, named BSAH, which use base station to controlled overhead of sensor node and create clustering to distribute energy dissipation and increase energy efficiency of all sensor node. Main idea of BSAH is based on the concept of BeamStar, which divide sensor node into group by base station uses directional antenna and maximize the computation energy in base station to reduce computational energy in sensor node for conservation of network lifetime. The performance of BSAH compared to PEGASIS and CHIRON based of hierarchical routing protocol. The simulation results show that BSAH achieve 25% and 30% of improvement on network lifetime.

  • A wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of several sensor nodes and usually one base station. In this paper, we propose a method to monitor topics using a wireless sensor network. Fire threatens people, animals, and plants, and it takes a lot of recovery time when a fire occurs. For this reason, it is necessary to use a fire monitoring system that is easy to configure and fast to avoid fire. In this paper, we propose a fast and easily reliable fire detection system using WSN. The wireless node of the WSN measures the temperature and brightness around the node. The measured information is transferred to the workstation and to the base station. The workstation analyzes current and historical data records to monitor the fire and notify the manager.

  • In this paper, we propose a strategy to distribute the energy consumption over the network. The proposed strategy is based on geographic routing. We use a smart base station that maintains the residual energy and location information of sensor nodes and selects a head node and an anchor node using this information. A head node gathers and aggregates data from the sensor nodes in a target region that interests the user. An anchor node then transmits the data that was forwarded from the head node back to the smart base station. The smart base station extends network lifetime by selecting an optimal head node and an optimal anchor node. We simulate the proposed protocol and compare it with the LEACH protocol in terms of energy consumption, the number of dead nodes, and a distribution map of dead node locations.

  • In Wireless Sensor Network, clustering scheme is used to prolong the lifetime of WSN by efficient usage of energy of sensor. In the distributed clustering protocol just like LEACH, every sensor in a network plays a cluster head role once during each epoch. So the FND is prolonged. But, even though every sensor plays a head role, the energy consumed by each sensor is different because the energy consumed increases according to the distance to the Base Station by the way of multiple increase. In this paper, we propose a mechanism to select a head depending on the distance to Base Station, which extends the timing of FND occurrence by 68% compared to the LEACH and makes network stable.

  • A wireless sensor network is the combination of a large number of deployed sensors over an area. Communication between the sensors is the most important factor for a successful sensor network. It is mandatory that long distance and multi-hop communication will occur between sensors. Generally sensors relay the sensed data of a particular territory to the command center via a base station. For the non uniformed deployment of sensors many sensors may deploy in hostile areas surrounded by full of obstacles or in other condition it may be out of the direct communication range of the base station. It seems a critical problem for routing data to and from those sensors to the base station. This paper proposes a route management scheme using a dynamic load balancing approach based on residual energy of each agent sensors.

  • This paper investigates optimization-based base station (BS) placement. An optimization model is defined and the BS placement problem is transformed to a lexicographical stratified programming (LSP) model for a given trajectory, according to different accuracy requirements. The feasible region for BS deployment is obtained from the positioning system requirement, which is also solved with signal coverage problem in BS placement. The LSP mathematical model is formulated with the average geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) as the criterion. To achieve an optimization solution, a tolerant factor based complete stratified series approach and grid searching method are utilized to obtain the possible optimal BS placement. Because of the LSP model utilization, the proposed algorithm has wider application scenarios with different accuracy requirements over different trajectory segments. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has better BS placement result than existing approaches for a given trajectory.

  • Energy constraints of wireless sensor networks are an important challenge. Data Transmission requires energy. Distance between origin and destination has an important role in energy consumption. In addition, the location of base station has a large impact on energy consumption and a specific method not proposed for it. In addition, a obtain model for location of base station proposed. Also a model for distributed clustering is presented by cluster heads. Eventually, a combination of discussed ideas is proposed to improve the energy consumption. The proposed ideas have been implemented over the LEACH-C protocol. Evaluation results show that the proposed methods have a better performance in energy consumption and lifetime of the network in comparison with similar methods.

  • In this paper, we propose a fuzzy proxy cache scheme for caching web documents in mobile base stations. In this scheme, a mobile cache model is used to facilitate data caching and data replication. Using the proposed cache scheme, the individual proxy in the base station makes cache decisions based solely on its local knowledge of the global cache state so that the entire wireless proxy cache system can be effectively managed without centralized control. To improve the performance of proxy caching, the proposed cache scheme predicts the direction of movement of mobile hosts, and uses various cache methods for neighboring proxy servers according to the fuzzy-logic-based control rules based on the membership degree of the mobile host. The performance of our cache scheme is evaluated analytically in terms of average response delay and average energy cost, and is compared with that of other mobile cache schemes.
