  • Advances in wireless sensor network (WSN) technology have enabled small and low-cost sensors with the capability of sensing various types of physical and environmental conditions, data processing, and wireless communication. In the WSN, the sensor nodes have a limited transmission range and their processing and storage capabilities as well as their energy resources are limited. A triple umpiring system has already been proved for its better performance in WSNs. The clustering technique is effective in prolonging the lifetime of the WSN. In this study, we have modified the ad-hoc on demand distance vector routing by incorporating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) based dynamic clustering. The proposed scheme, which is an efficient and secure routing protocol for wireless sensor networks through SNR-based dynamic clustering (ESRPSDC) mechanisms, can partition the nodes into clusters and select the cluster head (CH) among the nodes based on the energy, and non CH nodes join with a specific CH based on the SNR values. Error recovery has been implemented during the inter-cluster routing in order to avoid end-to-end error recovery. Security has been achieved by isolating the malicious nodes using sink-based routing pattern analysis. Extensive investigation studies using a global mobile simulator have shown that this hybrid ESRP significantly improves the energy efficiency and packet reception rate as compared with the SNR unaware routing algorithms such as the low energy aware adaptive clustering hierarchy and power efficient gathering in sensor information systems.

  • An ultra-wideband signal is characterized by a radiated spectrum with wide bandwidth around a relatively low center frequency. In this paper, the bit error rate (BER), packet error rate (PER), and data throughput performance for an ultra-wideband system with M-ary correlation receiver are analyze in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and co-channel interference channel. To evaluate the performance of UWB system, a set of UWB communication waveform as pulse position modulated (PPM) signals consisting of more than one UWB pulse is used. The M-ary PPM signals are defined to be equally correlated in order to simplify the system performance analysis. The analysis for system performance shows that the wireless channel error significantly degrades throughput performance and can be effectively increased by hybrid ARQ scheme. Also, an attempt for comparing the data throughput of ultra-wideband system on different performance improvement schemes and parameters has been made. From the performance evaluation process, it is shown that the effects of wireless channel and hybrid ARQ scheme for ultra wideband M-ary PPM system can be evaluated by means of a suitable combination of the PER, throughput vs. signal-to-noise power ratio per bit.

  • In general, automatic access control management system using smart door-lock must be always exposed to security vulnerability during wireless communication based on Bluetooth. In particular, important information such as a secrete key can be exposed to the attacker when the authentication protocol has been operating in the wireless section. Therefore important information exchanged in the radio section needs to be properly encrypted. In order to analyze security vulnerability for automatic access control management system of public facilities such as subway vent, GNU Radio platform and HackRF device will be considered and experimented. Proposed experimental system to perform software based power analysis attack could be very effectively applied. As a result, important information such as packet type, CRC, length of data, and data value can be easily decoded from wireless packet obtained from HackRF device on GNU Radio platform. Constructed experimental system will be applied to avoid some security problems.

  • Precision agriculture relies on information technology, whose precondition is providing real-time and accurate information. It depends on various kinds of advanced sensors, such as environmental temperature and humidity, wind speed, light intensity, and other types of sensors. Currently, it is a hot topic how to collect accurate information, the main raw data for agricultural experts, monitored by these sensors timely. Most existing work in WSNs addresses their fundamental challenges, including power supply, limited memory, processing power and communication bandwidth and focuses entirely on their operating system and networking protocol design and implementation. However, it is not easy to find the self-localization capability of wireless sensor networks. Because of constraints on the cost and size of sensors, energy consumption, implementation environment and the deployment of sensors, most sensors do not know their locations. This paper provides maximum likelihood estimators for sensor location estimation when observations are time-of arrival (TOA) range measurement.

  • Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) require an enormous number of sensor nodes (SNs) to maintain processing, sensing, and communication capabilities for monitoring targeted sensing regions. SNs are generally operated by batteries and have a significantly restricted energy consumption; therefore, it is necessary to discover optimization techniques to enhance network lifetime by saving energy. The principal focus is on reducing the energy consumption of packet sharing (transmission and receiving) and improving the network lifespan. To achieve this objective, this paper presents a novel improved energy-efficient cluster-based routing protocol (IECRP) that aims to accomplish this by decreasing the energy consumption in data forwarding and receiving using a clustering technique. Doing so, we successfully increase node energy and network lifetime. In order to confirm the improvement of our algorithm, a simulation is done using matlab, in which analysis and simulation results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than that of two well-known recent benchmarks.

  • Seamless wireless communication network access technology enables users to guarantee service continuity. Hence, it is necessary for disaster situations in which network service may be interrupted. The Multi-path router is a technology to improve network stability and strengthen field operability, particularly in a disaster environment where network failure can occur by providing high-performance data transmission using multi-communication networks and network security by VPN-based wireless IP. In this paper, a prototype system for an MPR-based wireless communication network was proposed to improve the operation performance for disaster field investigation applications. A comparative experiment was performed on various data transmission performances with the existing single wireless communication network. In addition, another experiment was conducted by measuring the data packet transmission and receiving performance in the existing/new wireless communication system first and then assessing the UDP transmission performance in a single router environment to understand the transmission capability of the new MPR. The experimental results showed that the sending and receiving performance was improved by approximately double that of the existing single wireless communication system. The proposed prototype system is expected to allow users to share and disseminate collected on-site data more quickly and efficiently during a disaster site investigation.

  • Currently, the commercialization of the $5^{th}$ Generation (5G) service is becoming more prevalent in domestic communication network technology. This has reduced communication delay time and enabled large-capacity data transmission and video streaming services in real-time. In order to keep pace with these developments, K-water has introduced a smart process control system in water purification plants to monitor the status of the water purification process. However, since wireless networks are based on the public Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, communication delay time remains high, and high-resolution video services are limited. This is because communication networks still have a closed structure due to expense and security issues. Therefore, with 5G in its current form, it is very difficult to accommodate future services without improving the infrastructure of its communication networks. In recognition of these problems, this study implemented the authentication and management function of wireless networks on a wired network management system in the K-water Bansong water purification plant. The results confirmed that wired Local Area Network (LAN) services give a higher security performance than an expensive commercial wireless LAN system. This was achieved by using an Internet Protocol (IP) address management system of wired networks and the packet filtering function of the Layer2 (L2) switch. This study also confirmed that it is possible to create a wireless LAN service that is 3.7 times faster than the existing LTE communication network.

  • The mobile telecommunication system has been growing exponentially after 1990s due to the high population in a city and the growth of mobile user. In this time, the current mobile system mainly concentrates on the voice communication. However, in the next generation, mobile users want to get very diverse services via mobile terminal such as the Internet access, web access, multimedia communication, and etc. For this reason, the next generation system, such as the UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication Services) system, has to support the packet data service and it will play the major role in the system. By the way, since the Web service is based on TCP, most of the Internet traffic TCP traffic. Therefore, efficient transmission of TCP traffic will take very important role in the performance of packet data service. There are many researches about improving TCP performance over wireless network. In those schemes, the UMTS system adapts the link layer retransmission scheme. However, there are rarely studies about the exact performance of the link layer retransmission scheme in the face of dynamic changes of wireless environment over the UMTS system. The dynamic changes of wireless environment, such as wireless bandwidth, can degrade TCP performance directly. So, in this paper, we simulate and analyze the TCP performance in the UMTS system with dynamic wireless environments. Then, we propose a simple scheme for minimizing TCP performance degradation. As a result of simulation, we can find that when wireless environment is changed dynamically, the probability of TCP timeout is increased, and the TCP performance is degraded very much. In this situation, the proposed simple scheme shows good performance. It saves wireless resources and reduces the degradation of TCP performance without large overhead of the base station.

  • Wireless sensor network is wieldy use for IoT application. The sensor node consider as physical device in IoT architecture. This all sensor node are operated with battery so the power consumption is very high during the data communication and low during the sensing the environment. Without proper planning of data communication the network might be dead very early so primary objective of the cluster based routing protocol is to enhance the battery life and run the application for longer time. In this paper we have comprehensive of twenty research paper related with clustering based routing protocol. In particular, we have taken clustering manner, node deployment, scalability, data aggregation, power consumption and implementation cost many more points for the comparison of all 20 protocol. Along with basic information we also consider the network simulation parameters like number of nodes, simulation time, simulator name, initial energy and communication range as well energy consumption, throughput, network lifetime, packet delivery ration, jitter and fault tolerance parameters about the performance parameters. Finally we have summarize the technical aspect and few common parameter must be fulfill or consider for the design energy efficient cluster based routing protocol.
