An Equalization Technique for OFDM Systems in Indoor Wireless Channel (실내 무선 채널에서 OFDM시스템의 등화 기법)

  • Recently, as demands for super-high speed broad band wireless multimedia service increase, variable researches to develop wireless LAN have been carried out. In this paper, we propose and analyze LS(Least Squares)-PSA(Pilot Symbol Assisted) equalizer which compensates for each subcarrier of different attenuations and phase response for OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)-based indoor wireless LAN systems. The proposed equalizer enhances the $E_{b}$ $N_{o}$ performance of 3dB and 4dB at BER=10$^{-2}$ as compared with LS equalizer in AWGN channel and indoor wireless channel respectively..

  • This paper proposes wireless fan system as noise measurement system. It is easy to combine measurement system(Hardware) and analytic system(software) to the Wireless tan system. Thus wireless fan system can be applied to noise mapping system and noise monitoring system. This paper show noise measurement experiment and result using wireless lan system.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient bit loading algorithm for IEEE 802.11a wireless LAN systems. While a conventional bit loading algorithm uses the SNR value of each subcarrier, it is very difficult to estimate the exact SNR value in wireless LAN systems due to randomness of AWGN. Therefore, in order to solve this problem our proposed algorithm uses the channel frequency response instead of the SNR of each subcarrier. Through simulation results, we can obtain the performance gain of 3.5∼8㏈ at PER of 10-2 with the proposed bit loading algorithm while the conventional one obtains the performance gain of 0.5∼5㏈ at the same conditions. Also, the increased data rate can be confirmed 63Mbps. After the logic synthesis using 0.3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS technology, the logic gate count for the processor with proposed algorithm can be reduced by 34% in comparison with the conventional one.

  • Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) cache poisoning is a MAC layer attack that can only be carried out when an attacker is connected to the same local network as the target machines. ARP is not a new problem, but wireless network introduces a new attack point and more vulnerable to the attack. The attack on wireless network cannot be detected by current detection tool installed on wired network. In order to detect the ARP poisoning attack, there must be a ARP poisoning detection tool for wireless LAN environment.   • Wireless data communication (WDC) services are increasingly penetrating the market. The two main alternative WDC technologies are wireless LAN and mobile Internet. Services based on these technologies display differences in quality attributes such as terminal device, data transmission speed, pricing scheme and so on. How consumers choose between these two alternatives will be determined by their preferences regarding such quality attributes. In turn, their preferences will affect the evolution of WDC services and related technologies. This study employs a conjoint analysis of consumer valuations of quality attributes of wireless LAN and mobile Internet services. Respondents rate hypothetical service alternatives featuring various combinations of quality attributes. By estimating consumer willingness to pay for the attributes of WDC services, the authors predict the evolution of WDC services and related technologies along various quality dimensions, make a comparison with the results of a previous study, and draw policy implications for national-and company-level R&D strategies.

  • Currently, the commercialization of the $5^{th}$ Generation (5G) service is becoming more prevalent in domestic communication network technology. This has reduced communication delay time and enabled large-capacity data transmission and video streaming services in real-time. In order to keep pace with these developments, K-water has introduced a smart process control system in water purification plants to monitor the status of the water purification process. However, since wireless networks are based on the public Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, communication delay time remains high, and high-resolution video services are limited. This is because communication networks still have a closed structure due to expense and security issues. Therefore, with 5G in its current form, it is very difficult to accommodate future services without improving the infrastructure of its communication networks. In recognition of these problems, this study implemented the authentication and management function of wireless networks on a wired network management system in the K-water Bansong water purification plant. The results confirmed that wired Local Area Network (LAN) services give a higher security performance than an expensive commercial wireless LAN system. This was achieved by using an Internet Protocol (IP) address management system of wired networks and the packet filtering function of the Layer2 (L2) switch. This study also confirmed that it is possible to create a wireless LAN service that is 3.7 times faster than the existing LTE communication network.

  • Recently the application area of wireless LAN has been increased, rapidly. The application area was limited in indoor, but as the data throughput and performance of wireless LAN becomes better the application is to extend to the Internet connection and wireless(Ubiqitous) bridge in outdoor. In this paper, In this paper, the data throughput of wireless LAN in mobile environment is measured, and the usability of wireless LAN for develop bridge health monitoring system is confirmed.

  • In this paepr, a multicode CDMA scheme with serial and parallel structure as the transmission scheme of wireless LAN which can transmit high speed data under an indoor channel environment is modeled and optimal values of several parameters needed for implementing wireless LAN modern system are derived through computer simulation. it is verified that given the transmission bandwidth and maximum data rate, the system performance is improved if increasing spreading gain anf the number of channels or decreasing the data rate of each channel. Especially the parallel structure makes not only the system performance much more improved but also the hardware implementation easier than serial structure under the same condition because the effective chip rate is decreased.

  • 본 논문은 열린대학(및 열린병원) 구현을 위한 캠퍼스내(종합병원내)에서의 무선 LAN을 이용한 멀티미디어 원격교육(및 원격진료) 시스템 구현에 관한 연구이다. 본 시스템은 정보통신 기술과 멀티미디어 기술이 접목되어 개발된 시스템이다. 또한 본 시스템은 성균관대학교의 원격교육시스템을 확장한 개념이기도 하다. 또한 본 원격교육 시스템은 멀티미디어 미들웨어에 의해 실시간 상호참여형 환경과 IP multicasting을 제공하고 있다.본 시스템은 캠퍼스 내에서 AP(Access Point)을 사용한 무선 LAN과 캠퍼스와 캠퍼스 사이의 T1/E1 네트워크로 구성되어 있다. 이것은 로밍지역을 해결하기 위한 handoff와 중재를 위한 다중 브릿지을 사용함으로써 구현이 가능하다. Abstract In this paper, we propose a multimedia distance education system(or telemedicine) using a wireless LAN for an inner campus university/hospital, which is intended to implement an open university. This system is implemented by a high technology of multimedia and information communication software. Also, this system is an enhanced and expanded system of the conventional distance education of SKKU(Sung Kyun Kwan University). The structure of this system consists of a T1/E1 network(information super high way) between campuses and wireless LAN using the AP(Access Pointer) inner campus. It will be able to use a use multiple bridge for mediation and hand off to solve roaming areas. This distance education system supports a real-time collaboration environment and IP multicasting by multimedia middleware for collaboration.

  • A compact, lightweight and low-cost Planar Inverted-F Antenna(PIFA) for wireless LAN communication in the 5 GHz band is designed. The antenna is designed using the IE3D, the simulation tool of the Zeland Inc.. The characteristics of the implemented antenna are measured and analyzed. The antenna is resonated at the 5.25 GHz and its bandwidth is about 580 MHz under the condition of VSWR$\leq$1.5.
