On the implementation of spectrum MODEM for wireless LAN (Spread Specturm 방식을 이용한 무선 LAN MODEM의 구현)

  • In this paper, a specification for wireless LAN MODEM using direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) technique is presented. Some algorithms and hardware architectures for an efficient implementation of the DS/SS MODEM are suggested. In the method, all baseband signal processing are done digitally for single chip implementation. Schemes of DQPSK baseband modulation/demodulation, despreading with digital matched filter, digital timing recovery, and efficient carrier sensing are among the discussed algorithms. We also performed various kinds of simulations to evaluate the system performance and to extract parameters for hardware implementation. In addition, the pictorial view of ASIC of the SS MODEM is also shown.

Study on the Improvement of OFDM/64QAM Modem (OFDM/64QAM방식의 모뎀 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose a wireless modem, which used OFDM/64QAM method and the ISM band with 2.4GHz radio frequency. In this paper proposed the case of a modem, the main program to process the baseband processor, processing speed, operating voltage, and reliability should be ensured. So we have designed with Ralink's RT2870, witch was used for Wi-Fi solution. The RT2870 provides full support for wireless LAN standard, and supports various modulation formats, 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, both of which support chip. In this paper, we also output the modulated signal transmitted wirelessly to the 2.4GHz band RF RT2850 chip processing was applied and using 40MHz band 2.422 ~ 2.462GHz wireless bands were designed to occupy. By applying bi-directional transmission between wireless transmitter and receiver, it can be effectively connected with any kinds of wireless LAN with 2.4GHz ISM band. Therefore it could economically be used as peripheral equipments for POS system or personal wireless device based on Android platform.

  • This paper presented the implementation and design of narrowband wireless MODEM for packet transmission. The MODEM consists of transmitter, receiver, and the control unit. The BPSK modulation with narrowband filtering is used. The receiver consists of functional modules such as carrier recovery, bit synchronization, lock detector, etc. We evaluated the performance of packet transmission with three MODEM sets implemented in distributed packet radio network. We confirmed the transmission of packetized data through RS232C port of PC. Also, we presented results of experimental data by using measuring instruments. The implemented MODEM in this paper is expected to be useful for the design of wireless LAN system.

  • Recently, water sewage disposal facilities are able to manage real-time data collection and record management through compact broadband modem LAN switching technology. Therefore, it needs more stable and efficient facility management. So, we required practical use of environmental facilities convergence based on broadband integrated modem. In this paper, we proposed short distance wireless communication network of compact broadband modem for sewage disposal facilities. And it received data inside of water treatment facility using the two communication methods (IEEE802.11x and IEEE802.15.4x). Then, our proposed an data-flow control algorithm of wireless network technology will prioritize processing data when emergency happen through collecting data, analysis data and processing. Lastly, we proved usefulness by experiment and simulation analysis.

  • It is as research about embodiment of MAC algorithm that is point of wireless LAN technology that is radio skill that is receiving present head of a family footlights, and embodied MAC that is algorithm that control modem Rf and host interface to level that existent common use radio AP and send-receive of high speed are available that embody function that is presented to IEEE 802.11 specs using H/W and S/W. When embody actually, tested module that embody actually using module modem and RF part because test is impossible after have common use product. Also, module that embody actually designed, and is expected to be utilized in radio LAN system construction of high speed late considering CRC and FCS ewer on channel.

  • In this paepr, a multicode CDMA scheme with serial and parallel structure as the transmission scheme of wireless LAN which can transmit high speed data under an indoor channel environment is modeled and optimal values of several parameters needed for implementing wireless LAN modern system are derived through computer simulation. it is verified that given the transmission bandwidth and maximum data rate, the system performance is improved if increasing spreading gain anf the number of channels or decreasing the data rate of each channel. Especially the parallel structure makes not only the system performance much more improved but also the hardware implementation easier than serial structure under the same condition because the effective chip rate is decreased.

  • 휴대용 컴퓨터의 폭넓은 보급으로 인해 사용자의 이동성을 살린 무선 정보망의 실현 수단으로서 무선 LAN 에 대한 관심이 급증하고 있다. 무선 LAN 이 향후 정보 통신 기반구조로 자리하기 위해서는 사용자의 이동성을 보장하기 위한 효과적인 로밍 기술이 절대적이다. 본 논문에서는 현재 표준화가 진행중인 IEEE 802.1X를 기반으로 하여 무선 LAN 환경에서 사용자의 안전한 이동성 보장을 위한 서로 다른 도메인 간의 단말 이동을 지원하는 로밍 보안 방법론을 제안한다. 인증 및 키교환 메커니즘은 EAP-TLS 를 기준으로 하며, 로밍이 발생할 때 TLS 의 핸드쉐이크 과정을 단순화하는 접근을 사용한다.

Design of a DSSS MODEM Architecture for Wireless LAN (무선 LAN용 직접대역확산 방식 모뎀 아키텍쳐 설계)

  • This paper presents the architecture and design of a DSSS MODEM ASIC chip for wireless local area networks (WLAN). The implemented MODEM chip supports the DSSS physical layer specifications of the IEEE 802.11. The chip consits of a transmitter and a receiver which contain a CRC encoder/decoder, a differential encoder/decoder, a frequency offset compensator and a timing recovery circuit. The chip supports various data rates, i.e., 4,2 and 1Mbps and provides both DBPSK and DQPSK for data modulation. We have performed logic synthesis using the $SAMSUNG^{TM}$ $0.6{\mu}m$ gate array library and the implemented chip consists of 53,355 gates. The MODEM chip operates at 44MHz, the package type is 100-pin QFP and the power consumption is 1.2watt at 44MHz. The implemented MODEM architecture shows lower BER compared with the Harris HSP3824.
