손오공 머리띠를 이용한 간편한 사두증 치료결과 평가방법 (A Simple Evaluation Method Using a "Sun-Wukong's Headband" Wire for Positional Plagiocephaly Correction after Cranial Remodeling Helmet Therapy)

  • Purpose: A cranioremodeling helmet for correcting plagiocephaly was recently developed. However, no discrete objective methods to evaluate how the deformity is being corrected have been developed. We have established an easy and cost-effective method that can be used not only to show the correction process, but can also be used by physicians to assess the degree of plagiocephaly two-dimensionally. Methods: For two-dimensional evaluation, a length of malleable memory wire (2 mm in diameter) resembling "Sun-Wukong's headband" was placed on the patient's head. The wire around the patient's head was positioned on a plane including points 1 cm above the eyebrow and 1 cm above the auricle. The wire was placed on a sheet of paper and the outline was marked using pens of various colors during each visit. The degree of plagiocephaly correction could then be shown to the patient's parents at every consultation. Results: The method established by the present study easily shows the horizontal cross-section transformation of the head, illustrates plagiocephaly correction by the helmet, and shows the degree of correction in a two-dimensional manner. Conclusion: A soft-shell helmet is widely used for correcting plagiocephaly. However, evaluating the effectiveness of the helmet has been determined in a subjective manner, and a more objective method is now in demanded. Our study found that a "Sun-Wukong's headband" wire can accurately measure two-dimensional changes. Future studies will be required to identify landmarks needed for assessing plagiocephaly correction.

조석출입량에 관한 조사 (Study of the Tidal Discharge)

  • The tidal discharge is defined as the quantity of water flowing through a certain cross-section per unit of time, in contrast to river discharges, tidal discharges change periodically in magnitude and direction. Thus the total volumes of water flowing into again out of the system-called flood volume and ebb volume, respectively, depend on both the tidal and the river discharges. To ditermine the tidal discharge and the flood and ebb volumes of the Yong-san river, the discharges were measured at spring, mean and neap tide and simultaneous gage reading were taken at Samhak-do, Lower Myo-do, Myongsan-ni and Naju. The general procedure for measuring the tidal discharges was as follows. First, several cross-sections were measured and one of them was chosen. Because comparatively few verticals should be representative of the discharge distribution over the river profile, the selection was done in accordance with the somtimes irregular bottom profile. The velocities were measured with the same current meters. The observations which included water level readings were continued for a period of about 13 hours. The current direction meter, a pyramid shaped resistance body, suspend in the water on a thin wire. The bubble in a circular tilting level fixed to the wire indicates the direction of the current. Reading were taken at intervals of 1m for depths of 10m or less, and for depths over 10m at intervals of 2m, going downwards and upwards. The averages of the two velocities were used for the computation of the discharges. The discharges and the flood and ebb volumes were ditermined by a graphical method. The mean velocities, corrected for their direction when necesary, were ditermined for each time interval and each vertical, and these velocities were plotted against the time. The resulting curves show possible mistakes very clearly, and the effect of observation errors could be reduced. The corrected velocities read from the curve at half-hour intervals were multiplied by the depth at the virtical at the corresponding time. The discharges thus found were ploted against the position of the vertical in the transit and joined by a smooth curve, integration of the curve rendered the total discharges as they occurred of half-hour intervals. Plotting these total discharges against the time yeilded during the day. The flood and ebb volumes were obtained by integration of the total discharge curve.

비긴장강연선과 철근이 혼용된 보의 설계방안 (Design Concept of Beams Reinforced by Deformed Bars and Non-Prestressed Strands in Combination)

  • 최근 국내에서 개발된 프리스트레스가 도입되지 않은 강연선을 적용한 보-기둥 접합부시스템은 2개층 동시 시공이 가능한 2개층 1절 PC기둥 및 U자형 단부형상을 갖는 하프 PC보로 구성되어 있다. 대상 보-기둥 접합부에서는 시공성을 향상시키기 위해 철근과 비긴장강연선이 혼용배근되며, 선행된 연구에서 구조성능을 규명하기 위한 실험이 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 선행된 실험결과와 단면해석결과를 비교검토하여 이형철근과 비긴장강연선이 혼용배근된 보의 설계방안을 제안하고자 한다. 고강도 철근에 대한 기존연구 고찰을 토대로 비긴장강연선의 설계항복강도를 제안하고, 상이한 철근과 비긴장강연선의 항복강도를 고려하여 구조설계기준을 만족하는 최소 최대 보강비, 휨강도 산정식을 제안하였다. 대상시스템에서 보의 사용성을 고려하기 위해, 현행 설계기준식을 사용하여 처짐검토 시 사용하중을 고려하여 비긴장강연선 배근비율을 제안하였으며, 균열폭 검토시 철근과 비긴장강연선의 상이한 부착특성, 항복강도, 직경, 단면적 등을 고려하여 균열폭 산정방법을 제안하였다. 마지막으로 본연구에서 제안된 설계방안들을 적용하여 철근과 비긴장강연선이 혼용배근된 보단면의 설계 방법을 예시하였다.

전기도금을 이용한 스테인레스 스틸 각형 선재의 굵기 증가 후 물성 변화 (Change of physical properties after diameter increase by electroplating of orthodontic rectangular stainless steel wire)

  • 본 연구는 전기도금을 이용하여 각형 선재의 굵기를 증가시킨 후 기존의 선재와 물성을 비교함으로써 이의 임상적 적용 가능성을 알아보고자 시행되었다. 한 변의 길이가 0.016 인치인 정사각형 스테인레스 스틸 교정용 선재에 니켈 전기도금을 시행하여 굵기를 0.001 인치 증가시켜 한 변의 길이가 0.017인치인 정사각형 선재로 만들었고 도금층의 밀착성을 증진시키기 위해 $400^{\circ}C$의 전기로에서 10분간 열처리를 시행하였다 시편의 물성변화를 알아보기 위하여 전기도금을 이용하여 제작된 15개의 시편을 실험군(016P군)으로, 기존의 0.016 인치 (016군), 0.017 인치 (017군) 스테인레스 스틸 교정용 선재를 대조군으로 설정한 후 3점 굴곡 시험과 비틀림 시험을 시행하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 3점 굴곡 시험 결과 0l6P군이 016군에 비해 강성과 항복강도, 극한강도 모두 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 강성과 극한강도는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 2. 3점 굴곡 시험 결과 0l6P군이 017군보다 강성과 항복강도, 극한강도 모두 낮은 경 향을 보였으며, 강성은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 3. 비틀림 시험 결과 016P군이 016군에 비해 비틀림 강성과 항복 비틀림 모멘트, 최대 비틀림 모멘트 모두 높았으며, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 4. 비틀림 시험 결과 016P군이 017군에 비해 비틀림 강성과 항복 비틀림 모멘트, 최대 비틀림 모멘트 모두 낮은 경향을 보였으며, 이 중 항복 비틀림 모멘트와 최대 비틀림 모멘트에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과를 요약해 보면 각형 선재에 도금을 시행하여 굵기를 증가시키고 물성이 증가될 수 있음을 알았다. 비록 도금을 시행한 016P군이 기존의 017군보다 강성이 낮았으나 이는 반대로 016P군이 017군보다 탄성이 높음을 나타내며 토크조절이 부족한 경우 브라켓 슬롯에 쉽게 삽입되어 교정력을 발휘할 것으로 기대된다.

Half-cell 기반 multi-wires 접합 공정에서 접합 특성에 영향을 주는 요인과 효율의 상관관계 연구 (A Study on the Relationship between Factors Affecting Soldering Characteristics and Efficiency of Half-cell Soldering Process with Multi-wires)

  • As a demand of higher power photovoltaic modules, shingled, multi-busbar, half-cell, and bifacial techniques are developed. Multi-busbar module has advantage for large amount of light havesting. And, half-cell is high power module for reducing resistive losses and higher shade tolerance. Recently, researches on multi-busbar is focused on reliability according to adhesion and intermetallic compound between Sn-Pb solder and Ag electrode. And half-cell module is researched to comparing with full-sized cell module for structure difference. In this study, we investigated the factors affecting to efficiency and adhesion of multi-wires half-cell module according to wire thickness, solder thickness, and flux. The results of solar simulator and peel test was that peel strength and efficiency of soldered cell is not related. But samples with flux including high solid material showed high efficiency. The results of FE-SEM and EDX line scan on cross-section between wire and Ag electrode for different flux showed thickness of solder joint between wire and Ag electrode is increasing through solid material increasing. Flux including high solid material would affect to solder behavior on Ag electrode. Higher solid material occurred lower growth of IMC layer because solder permeate to sider of wire ribbon than Ag electrode. And it increased fill factor for high efficiency. In soldering process, amount of solid material in flux and solder thickness are the factor related with characteristic of soldered photovoltaic cell.

Experimental and Computational Investigation of Aerodynamic Characteristics of Hovering Coleoptera

  • Aerodynamic characteristics of Coleoptera species of Epilachna quadricollis and Allomyrina dichotoma are experimentally and numerically investigated. Using digital high speed camera and smoke wire technique, we visualized the continuous wing kinematics and the flight motion of free-flying coleoptera. The experimental visualization shows that the elytra flapped concurrently with the main wing both in the downstroke and upstroke motions. The wing motion of Epilachna quadricollis was captured and analyzed frame by frame to identify the kinematics of the wings and to implement it in the movement of a model wing (thin plate) in the simulation. The two-dimensional simulation of Epilachna quadricollis hovering flight was performed by assuming the wing cross section shape as a thin plate, even though most of insect's wings are made of curved corrugated membrane. The effect of Reynolds number are investigated by the simulation. Meanwhile, in order to investigate the role and effect of elytra, the flow visualization of Allomyrina dichotoma was carried on using smoke wire visualization technique. Here, we confirmed that the vortex generated by elytra due to its movement is strongly influence the vortex dynamic generated by hind wings.

  • 이 논문은 화재원인판정에 있어서, 교류전류에 의해 용융된 나전선의 발열특성을 기술한 것이다. 실험을 위해 동전선은 1.2[mm], 1.6[mm], 2.0[mm]의 직경인 것을 준비하였다. 단면분석을 통해 용단전류가 전선에 공급되었을 때, 수지상 조직은 약40[$^{\circ}$] 또는 60[$^{\circ}$]의 각도로 성장하는 것을 확인하였다. 용단전류가 커지면 커질수록 수지상 조직의 성장각도는 줄어들었다. 그것은 주상조직과 유사하다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • The quality of bundles is closely related with the apparent thickness. Especially the variation of apparent thickness of bundle determines the qualify of the plane structure made or the bundle such as surface evenness, pore size, and the shape of air-gap, etc.,. This study is dealing with the development of a new measuring system of the thickness of bundle or cross-section by determining the size of the shadow of the object covered by a laser slit beam. Also the measured signal is characterized in terms of the correlogram, the irregularity in wavelength. The correlogram for the irregularity of several sample types could be represented by a sinusoidal function with exponentially decaying amplitude. Moreover, influence of the measuring speed on the signal and the characteristic differences according to the different types of bundle are investigated.

자기부상열차의 주행 환경을 고려한 집전자 마모도 평가 (Estimation of Power Collector Wear Considering the Operating Environment of a Maglev)

  • The wear of the third track power collector is one of the essential check factors for safe train operation. Rapid wear of the current collector accelerates the line of the catenary. In addition, the arc generated when the catenary line is turned off causes a malfunction in the minute portion of the catenary line, thereby shortening the life of the catenary line. In this paper, to analyze the mechanical wear of the current collector during driving according to the environmental factor of the Maglev(magnetic levitation train), it was divided into dry season and wet season. the wear of metallized collector, copper alloy collector and carbon collector were measured and compared with each other. The wear rate was measured according to the position of the wire, the position of the power collector and the position per hour. Microscopic photographs of the cross section and surface of the power collector were measured. The electrical currents of the metallized collector, copper alloy collector and carbon collector were measured.
