  • The purpose of this research is possible to reduce cost of management and maintenance to realization of smartphone and using data server network technology instead of GPS. Former wireless bus information system was focused on supply side management structure and national spread thus it needs to establish GPS terminal, Windows CE, Window XP embedded and LCD panels which provide only one way communication of information of public traffic information. Therefore, former system management and maintenance cost are very expansive. This research is not use GPS terminal and other hardware equipment but design and realization using smartphone and data network server. This system also provides low cost of management and maintenance. It is not only service downtown area but also out of town and small and medium-sized cities. This system functionally gets a satisfying result user convenience and satisfaction using function of set-up route map, real-time display, and running statically analysis.

  • According to the development of society and infrastructure, effective underground facility management is growing more important them ever. In the process various monitoring systems are studied and developed for water works pipe-network. Especially, RTD-1000 system with the based on Pc. Reflector-monitoring device is constructed and steered by several local governments. But, this system have to be improved result from based on PC system structure at the point of resource management, heat, power consumption and size. In this paper, RTD-2000 is proposed are a substitution of improved RTD-1000 with many respect and portable one. This system is designed and implemented with ARM-9 development kit based on WinCE and LCD eliminate TDR(Time Domain Reflector-Meter). Various surveillance programs based on windows are mounted on RTD-1000 are replaced with dedicated embedded application softwares. Simulation and evaluation for performance comparison are performed for the prove of effectiveness of RTD-2000.

  • Recently embedded system developed a lot. Physically, embedded systems range from portable devices such as digital watches and MP3 players, to large stationary installations like traffic lights, factory controllers, or the systems controlling nuclear power plants. This paper focuses on implementation of portable device which is applicable to the child-kidnap or missing child prevention system in residential area or public area. To be specific, this device is to transmit video data which comes from the camera in the device into the host PC via WLAN. Embedded hardware platform consists of s3c2440 with ARM9 core, WindowsCE OS and other sensors. OS enables the platform to do multitasking jobs which are handling GPS data, taking video, capturing audio via microphone in the device and transfer all kind of realtime data to the host PC.

  • As the practical range of SAW Device extended into various fields including physical sensor, chemical sensor and ID Tag, the platform for various SAW Devices is required more than ever. While SAW ID or Sensors advanced remarkably, the development of platform which applies to SAW Sensor left much to be desired. Therefore this paper represents the SAW platform in order to use SAW ID such as ID Tag or Sensors more conveniently. The SAW platform consists of a RF module which can recognize SAW ID and a main module which has a hish performance processor in order to process the response signal of SAW ID. The main module which has a high performance processor is designed by GUI environmental type to ensure that users are able to use the platform more easily. In this paper, the SAW platform, which is based on ARM9 core processor, used Windows Embedded CE 6.0 OS which brings friendly interface to users. Also the developers can make less effort to design various applications with sensors.

  • GeoWeb services deliver various thematic information related to geographic positions over the internet GeoWeb services needs to provide efficient accessibilities to geographic contents by interaction with users through the map graphic elements. SVG, which is an application of XML, gives rich DOM I/F for interaction with graphic objects. In this study map servers and client viewers are implemented to serve SVG map available on the fixed mobile internet computing environments. Map servers are made compliant with OGC WMS and WFS specifications and SVG map viewers are developed for both Windows PC and WinCE PDA.

  • Involuntary movement of internal organs by respiration is a factor that greatly affects the results of radiotherapy and diagnosis. In this study, a moving phantom was fabricated to simulate the movement of an organ or a tumor according to respiration, and 18F-FDG PET/CT scan images were acquired under various respiratory simulating conditions to analyze the movement range of the tumor movement by respiration, the level of artifacts according to the size of the tumor and the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax). Based on Windows CE 6.0 as the operating system, using electric actuator, electric actuator positioning driver, and programmable logic controller (PLC), the position and speed control module was operated normally at a moving distance of 0-5 cm and 10, 15, and 20 reciprocations. For sphere diameters of 10, 13, 17, 22, 28, and 37 mm at a delay time of 100 minutes, 80.4%, 99.5%, 107.9%, 113.1%, 128.0%, and 124.8%, respectively were measured. When the moving distance was the same, the difference according to the respiratory rate was insignificant. When the number of breaths is 20 and the moving distance is 1 cm, 2 cm, 3 cm, and 5 cm, as the moving distance increased at the sphere diameters of 10, 13, 17, 22, 28, and 37 mm, the ability to distinguish images from smaller spheres deteriorated. When the moving distance is 5 cm compared to the still image, the maximum values of the standard intake coefficient were 18.0%, 23.7%, 29.3%, 38.4%, 49.0%, and 67.4% for sphere diameters of 10, 13, 17, 22, 28, and 37 mm, respectively.

  • The technology of speech recognition has a wide field of application. The range of such technology is spreading into mobile computing having the large amount of movement for communication equipments at the present time. Particularly, recognition in internet environment is rapidly moving into mobile environment. Because of these environments, users want the faster speed of data transmission and the lighter portable equipment for data access. That is PDA(Personal Digital Assistant).   • 본 논문은 상용 OS 인 windows CE 기반의 PDA에서 음성으로 각 응용 프로그램 을 실행하는 방법 및 구성을 제시한다. PDA는 기존 desktop PC 에 비해 사용자 입력수단이 많지 않고, 그 사용법조차 까다롭다. 예를 들어 SIP(Soft Input Panel)을 이용하여 채팅을 하거나 인터넷 웹 브라우저에 주소입력조차 쉽지 않다. 이에 KT의 자체 개발한 음성인식엔진을 이용하여 PDA내 응용프로그램 과 사용자입력 요구사항을 원활히 연결, 보다 편리한 사용자 입력인터페이스를 제공한다. KT의 음성인식엔진은 corpus 기반으로 HMM 모델을 이용, 사용자 음성을 인식하여 그 결과를 출력한다. 본 논문에서는 PDA에서의 이러한 음성인식엔진을 이용, 다수의 응용프로그램을 실행하고 제어하는 구성과 패턴을 제시한다.

  • In this paper, we implemented the monitoring and control of geothermal heating and cooling system using mobile devices. The main idea of this system is to provide the convenience if the system can be controled in remote place with monitoring using the mobile devices like PDA. Basically, the system consists of the Server-Client structure divided into two parts, one is PDA and PC, the other is PC and PLC(Programmable Logic Controller). The PDA, which is equipped with Windows CE as as, monitors the status of the devices (motors and sensors, etc) attached to PLC and controls them. This does the system to be controled by the commands, which we assume to control, with wireless transmission between PC and PLC. The PDA parts are responsible for monitoring and control the devices connected to the PLC, and the PC part which equipped with the application is to provide the relation between PDA and PLC.   • Flash memory becomes more important for its fast access speed, low-power, shock resistance and nonvolatile storage. But its native restrictions that have limited 1ifetime, inability of update in place, different size unit of read/write and erase operations need to managed by FTL(Flash Translation Layer). FTL has to control the wear-leveling, address mapping, bad block management of flash memory. In this paper, we focuses on the fast access to address mapping table and proposed the way of faster valid page search in the flash memory using the VPLT(Valid Page Lookup Table). This method is expected to decrease the frequency of access of flash memory that have an significant effect on performance of read and block-transfer operations. For the validations, we implemented the FTL based on Windows CE platform and obtained an improved result.
