Weighted Census Transform and Guide Filtering based Depth Map Generation Method (가중치를 이용한 센서스 변환과 가이드 필터링 기반깊이지도 생성 방법)

  • Generally, image contains geometrical and radiometric errors. Census transform can solve the stereo mismatching problem caused by the radiometric distortion. Since the general census transform compares center of window pixel value with neighbor pixel value, it is hard to obtain an accurate matching result when the difference of pixel value is not large. To solve that problem, we propose a census transform method that applies different 4-step weight for each pixel value difference by applying an assistance window inside the window kernel. If the current pixel value is larger than the average of assistance window pixel value, a high weight value is given. Otherwise, a low weight value is assigned to perform a differential census transform. After generating an initial disparity map using a weighted census transform and input images, the gradient information is additionally used to model a cost function for generating a final disparity map. In order to find an optimal cost value, we use guided filtering. Since the filtering is performed using the input image and the disparity image, the object boundary region can be preserved. From the experimental results, we confirm that the performance of the proposed stereo matching method is improved compare to the conventional method.

Design and Implementation of Smart Healthcare Monitoring System Using Bio-Signals (생체 신호를 이용한 스마트 헬스케어 모니터링 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper intend to implement monitoring systems for individual customized diagnostics to maintain ongoing disease management to promote human health. Analyze the threshold of a measured biological signal using a number of measuring sensors. Performance assessment revealed that the SVM algorithm for bio-signal analysis showed an average error rate of 2 %. The accuracy of the classification is 97.2%, and reduced the maximum of 19.2% of the storage space when you split the window into 5,000 pieces. Out of the total 5,000 bio-signals, 84 results showed that results from the system were differently the results of the expert's diagnosis and showed about 98 % accuracy. However, the results of the monitoring system did not occur when the results of the monitoring system were lower than that of experts. And About 98% accuracy was shown.

  • 음성 인식 시스템의 개발을 위해서는 음성 데이터베이스 구축이 중요한 과제의 하나로써, 많은 시간과 노력이 요구된다. 본 논문은 ARS 주식거래 시스템에서 사용되는 주식의 매수, 매도, 증시 현황에 관련된 문장과 숫자음에 대하여 DB 구축한다. 이 DB 구축을 위하여 Dialogic 사의 D/41ESC보드를 장착하고, Window NT4.0 플렛폼에서 음성을 수집하였다. 본 논문에서는 음성 수집을 위해 전국의 20대에서 50대까지의 남녀에 대해 1명당 50개의 문장 또는 숫자음에 대하여, 유선 및 무선을 통하여 데이터를 수집하였다. 또한 화자 독립 음성 인식을 위하여 1200명의 화자로 구성되어 있다. 지역별로 보면, 서울 및 경기, 강원 지역과 영호남, 충청 지역으로 나누었으며, 일반폰, 휴대폰, 공중전화의 환경에서, 그리고 실내와 실외환경에서 각각 수집하였다.

Institutional Repositories in BRICS Countries: A Study

  • An institutional repository includes digital assets generated by academics, such as administrative documents, course notes, learning objects, or conference proceedings. It will provide a window that gives open access to improve the sponsoring institution's visibility and status. This paper discusses the growth and development of Institutional Repositories available in BRICS Countries. The relevant data was collected from the directory of OpenDOAR. Based on the data in OpenDOAR, 242 repositories are represented from BRICS countries. Among the 242, 84 (34.71%) repositories are from Brazil, 39 (16.12%) from China, 68 (28.10%) repositories from India, 22 (9.109%) repositories from Russia, and 29(11.98%) repositories from South Africa. Brazil has the largest number of records (11, 17,688) among BRICS Countries repositories.

  • Tunneling barrier engineered charge trap flash (TBE-CTF) memory capacitor were fabricated using the tunneling barrier engineering technique. Variable oxide thickness (VARIOT) barrier and CRESTED barrier consisting of thin $SiO_2$ and $Si_3N_4$ dielectrics layers were used as engineered tunneling barrier. The charge trapping characteristic with different metal gates are also investigated. A larger memory window was achieved from the TBE-CTF memory with high workfunction metal gate.

  • Double skin façade is known that several features affected the building energy and daylighting performance. That is why the envelope is able to consist of all architectural materials such as glass, aluminum, wood and insulation for vision of residents and workers in buildings. Its specifications is very diverse according to the building designers and building owners. In recent times, visual environment became a major focus and resulted in the development of cutting edge engineering of diverse glazing systems and shading devices by growing interests of friendly environment. Thus this research has evaluated the fluctuations of interior lighting and atmospheric conditions based on double skin facade systems. Especially in terms of daylighting environment as dependent on solar variations, this research provides quantitative analysis of interior lighting conditions and how it affects the living conditions as well as improve the design of interior spaces.

  • In the present study, several design parameters of the flat-die extrusion process are investigated using the rigid-plastic finite element method. The effect of loaction of extrusion profile, arrangement of multiple extrusion profiles, and design of various die land has been investigated through the analysis. Several numerical examples of flat-die extrusion, such as C-section, multiple U- shape, and window guide extrusion, are analyzed. From the comparative study, the effect of design parameters is investigated. In each example, comparing the velocity distribution with that of the original design, it has been shown that the design modification affords much more uniform distribution of axial velocity

  • A new algorithm using entropy operater with variable threshold for edge detection from 2D short axis echocardiogram is proposed. This algorithm is based on brightness, mean value of entropy, and variance value of entropy in local window. This algorithm is effective to process complex echocardiographic images due to the speckle noises, echo dropouts and characteristics of 2D echocardiographic constituents. Results of computer simulation of the proposed algorithm show excellent edge detection performance comparing wi th other edge operators which have been applied to 2D echocardiograms.

  • Semiconductor wafer fabrication is a business of high capital investment and fast changing nature. To be competitive, the production in a fab needs to be effectively planned and scheduled starting from the ramping up phase, so that the business goals such as on-time delivery, high output volume and effective use of capital intensive equipment can be achieved. In this paper, we propose Stand Alone layout and In-Line layout are analyzed and compared while varying number of device variable changes. The comparison is performed through simulation using ProSys; a window 98 based discrete system simulation software, as a tool for comparing performance of two proposed layouts. The comparison demonstrates that when the number of device variable change is small, In-Line layout is more efficient in terms of production quantity. However, as the number of device variable change is more than 14 titles, Stand Alone layout prevails over In-Line layout.

  • The measuring method of large object using the pattern matching is discussed in the paper. It is hard and expensive to get the complete 3D data when the object is large or exceeds the limit of measuring devices. The large object is divided into several smaller areas and is scanned several times to get the data of all the pieces. These data are aligned to get the complete 3D data using the pattern matching method. The point pattern matching method and transform matrix algorithm are used for aligning. The laser slit beam and CCD camera is applied for experimental measurement. Visual C++ on Window98 is implemented in processing the algorithm.
