This study was performed to investigate the awareness of an ecological city and its related variables and the willingness to move to an ecological city and its related variables. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey given to 491 residents in Mokpo, Kwangju and Muan in Chollanam Province. Awareness of the ecotogical city was medium level, half of the respondents were not aware of the ecological city. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to estimate the effects of the variables on the awareness of the ecological city. The most significant variable was environmental knowledge. Next, experience in environmental education and homeownership effected on the awareness of the ecological city. Those who knew about environmental pollution and environmental disruption had a self-reported higher degree of awareness of the ecological city. Those who had experience in environmental education as well as those who lived in their own house were more aware of the ecological city. Other variables were not statistically significant. Half of the respondents were willing to move to the ecological city. Seven variables were related with willingness to move to the ecological city. Those who knew about the environmental pollution and environmental disruption preferred to move to the ecological city. Those who lived in multi-housing had more of a willingness to move to the ecological city. People with a higher education as well as the younger group preferred to move to the ecological city. Those who were more aware of the ecological city and had more ecological-oriented values had more willingness to move to the ecological city. Salaried men and professionals were more willing to move to the ecological city than non-employed people. Among those variables environmental knowledge was the only influential variables on willingness to move to the city.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the residential mobility effects and planning discrepancies of home-owning households and renting households. The data for the empirical analysis were collected from 248 units residing in Ulsan and were studied using descriptive statistics, chi-squared tests by cross-tabulation and multiple regressions. The majority of the households did not experience a change in types of housing structure or ownership after the residential mobility. However, the housing size increased after residential mobility, showing that most moves were due to the deficit of housing sizes. In terms of future mobility plans, there were significant differences between home-owning households and renting households. More than two-thirds of the renting households were willing to move within 2-4 years to obtain home ownership. On the other hand, most home-owning households were willing to move for housing size, education of the head, and investment purposes. Compared to the forty-four percent of the home-owning households, seventy-two percent of the renting households were willing to relocate, which shows the effects of unstable housing circumstances.
This study measures whether people who are expected to live in the new city of Namak are environmentally and ecologically aware, and it investigates which variables are related to their willingness to move to an ecological city. This study investigated the environmental cognition of inhabitants in Chollanam Province; it focused particularly on ecologically -oriented values, environmental knowledge, environmental management behavior, and the awareness of an ecological city. For the purposes of this study, 500 inhabitants from Mokpo, Kwangju and Muan who are expected to live in a new city of Namak were surveyed. Awareness of the ecological city was at medium level; half of the respondents were not aware of an ecological city. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to estimate the effects of the variables on the awareness of the ecological city. The most significant variable was environmental knowledge. Next, experience in environmental education and homeownership affected awareness. Half of the respondents were willing to move to an ecological city. Among all of the variables, seven variables were significantly related to the willingness to move to an ecological city.

In an earlier study Whitehill and Takezawa found the American worker's higher propensity to move from one employer to another as compared to the Japanese system of life time employment. Their cultural continuum checklist was administered to 1467 Korean workers. This study finds that in spite of the East-Asian geographical and cultural proximity shared between Korea and Japan, the Korean workers are more willing than Japanese to move freely from one firm to another, as vindicated by the Korean industry's higher average monthly separation rates.
Using data from 132 telephone interviewees, we examined the role of affective-cognitive ambivalence in forming overall attitude and behavior toward toxic chemical and radioactive waste issues in Marion, Ohio in the U.S. In order to compare attitudinal preference, participants were divided into four A-C groups: action-group (Affective+/Cognitive+), detached-group (A-/C+), concerned-group (A+/C-), and inaction-group (A-/C-). Affective and cognitive components interacted, producing redundant influences on overall attitudes and judgments as frequently observed and postulated in previous attitude studies. The results showed that the action-group who were feeling unsafe and believed that environmental accidents had happened or are happening in Marion were less willing to move to the area than other three groups who were feeling safe and/or doubted reports of contamination and its relation with leukemia. Affective and cognitive components were found to have redundant influences on overall attitude. It was also observed that affective-cognitive ambivalence theory has a great potential for explaining the mechanism by which people form attitudes, especially when people have moderate or positive feelings (e.g. sympathy or eagerness for resources) toward the objects and/or when uncertainty is a major feature of environmental issue under consideration (e.g. global climate change).
The purpose of this study was 1) to analyze the attitudes about Senior Congregate Housing(SCH) among 4 urban areas, 2) to propose the various model for SCH which should be provided to satisfy the demand. Same opinions among 4 urban areas were ; 1) Whom were willing to move into SCH for later life, most of them were in early 50s. Most of the respondents desired to be serviced community alarm system, preferred one-room style, size of 11∼15 Pyung, and preferred living at suburban area. The multi-family type was preferred when not being healthy and be singled, but if healthy, preferred the type of single detached house. And they preferred the home ownership, highly valued of heating control system, health care and leisure programs. Thus for the future SCH, it should be designed all facilities were equipped with sports facilities, sauna and leisure programs. The findings indicated that the high rates of supporting with professional management for 24 hours by turn. But different opinions among 4 urban areas were; 2) Willingness live in SCH for later life had little difference in level of income, education, property. The operation planning of transports used to move blocks is the one of key factors. Furthermore, reducing the running time through the effective plan contributes to pulling forward the whole logistic process of the shipyard and substantially saving the fuel consumption of itself as well. The past researches of the transporter focused on finding only the shortest distances, so called, Manhattan distance. However, these searching approaches cannot help having the significant difference in the real operational time and distance with the minimum cost approach which considers the speed retardation for turns or safety at the intersection. This study suggests the noble transporter's operational model which could take account of the consuming operational time around the crossroads on the shipyard. Concretely, the proposed method guarantees the minimization of transporters' turns and passage number which are huge burdensome to the operation time and the whole planning of transports with the given period. Resultantly, this paper is willing to explain the appropriateness of our approach, compared with the previous ones.
It is undoubtedly true that national security in Korean peninsula is on the road to destabilization. The main factors are known to be North Korea's development and experiment on nuclear arms, especially the forth nuclear experiment on January 6th, ICBM launch February 7th, and encroachment upon the territory the NLL on the 8th along with the shutdown on Gaeseong Industrial Complex. Also, China's trouble with other nations over sovereignty over islands in the South China Sea and the fact that Japan's government is veering to the right side and having territorial dispute are making the case worse. Nations in Northeast Asia are striving to obtain the interest for the sake of their own country. In order to do so, they're walking the path to achieve national security. Until then, they are not so willing to participate foreign matters or economical race. Even in our perspective, these issues are many of the main problems which our country is currently facing. However, it is important for them to avoid making policies which may take away the citizen's happiness. The number one priority for the nation or any form of a group is to act in the best interest for the national security and the citizen's happiness. They are the main factors why a nation could exist. They are the symbols of a nation's sovereign authority. Countries outside are proving it by increasing their national defense budget even in this unprecedented economical crisis. If we are willing to stay the same as ever, the disparity in the military force will not be the same in the future. In conclusion, the study examines the problem which changes in Northeast Asia's defense environment could bring and the appropriate amount of national defense budget in order to support the nation's integration of its abilities to move toward South and North Korea's unification.
