길이방향으로 보강된 복합재료 원통쉘의 자유진동 (Free Vibration of the Composite Laminated Cylindrical Shells Stiffened with the Axial Stiffeners)

  • The analytical solutions for the free vibration of cross-ply laminated composite cyllindrical shell with axial stiffeners(stringers) are presented usint the energy method. The stiffeners are taken to be smeared over the surface of shell with the smeared stffener theory. The effect of the parameters such as the stacking sequences, the shell thichness, the shell radius-to stringer depth ratio, the stringer depth-to width ratio, the shell length-to radius ratio are studied. By comparison with the previously published experimental results and the analytical results for the stiffened isotropic cylindrical shell and the unstiffened orthotropic composite laminated cylindrical shell, it is shown that natural frequencies can be determined with adequate accuracy.

원형으로 배열된 다수 부이에 의한 파랑에너지 추출 (Wave-Energy Extraction by a Compact Circular Array of Buoys)

  • 크기가 작은 다수의 부이들이 원형으로 배열되어 있을 때 부이를 통한 추출 파워를 포텐셜이론 통하여 살펴보았다. 부이의 크기와 배열 간격이 수심과 파장 그리고 설치면적의 반경에 비하여 작다는 가정 아래에서 다수부이로 채워진 수면에서의 경계조건식을 유도하고 이를 포함한 경계치문제를 고유함수전개법을 이용하여 해석하였다. 추출 파워와 입사파 에너지의 비인 취득 폭을 packing ratio, 배열 반경, 그리고 PTO 감쇠계수를 바꿔가면서 살펴보았다. 또한 다수의 소형 부이를 원형 배열하였을 때 추출된 파력이 같은 잠긴 체적을 갖는 대형 단일 부이보다 효율적임을 계산을 통하여 밝혔다.

석고 모형분석에 의한 치아 밀집의 통계학적 연구 (A STATISTICAL STUDY OF DENIAL CROWDING WITH DENIAL CAST ANALYSIS)

  • Crowded group is composed of 60 subjects who visited Yonsei University for orthodontic treatment and has no history of orthodontic treatment. Noncrowded group is composed of 26 subjects who has no crowding, considered to have a normal occlusion and no history of orthodontic treatment. Currently available and approved analytic method was used. Interrelationship between tooth size and arch size, and it's correlation on tooth crowding was studied and the following results were obtained. 1. In comparison of sum of mesiodistal width, of crown size of teeth was greater in noncrowded group than that of crowded group on both arch. (p < 0.01). 2. In comparison of arch lengths, the values measured from arch length 2 showed greater in noncrowded group (p < 0.01). Also in crowded group, arch length 1 showed greater value than arch length 2 on both arch (p < 0.01). 3. In comparison of arch widths, upper interlateral (p < 0.01) and upper intercanine width (p < 0.05) showed greater value in noncrowded group on upper arch and intermolar width showed greater value in noncrowded group on both upper and lower arches (p < 0.05). 4. In comparison of arch perimeters, arch perimeter 2 was greater value in noncrowded group on both upper and lower arches (p < 0.01). 5. Dentoalveolar disproportion was greater in noncrowded group on both upper and lower arches (p < 0.01). 6. In lower incisors MD/FL ratio, the central and lateral incisors were greater in crowded group, but statistial significance was only in lateral incisors (p < 0.01) 7. The irregularity index of lower incisors showed greater value in crowded group (p < 0.01).

기능성 섬유원료 개발을 위한 연잎줄기 펄프의 특성 (Characteristics of Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera G.) Leafstalk Pulp for the Development of High Performance Paper)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the pulping and papermaking characteristics of lotus (Nelumbo nucifera G.) leafstalk for the development of high performance paper. Anatomical and chemical properties of the lotus leafstalk were analyzed. The pulping and papermaking properties of the lotus leafstalk by conventional alkali and sulfomethylated pulping processes were also evaluated. The length and width of fibers were 0.06-3.32 mm (av. 1.23 mm) and 3.47-25.6 ${\mu}m$ (av. 20.7 ${\mu}m$), respectively. The length and width of vessel elements were 0.07-0.78 mm (av. 0.20 mm) and 14.1-330.0 ${\mu}m$ (av. 54.13 ${\mu}m$), respectively. The fiber length/fiber width ratio was 60.20. The extractives (cold water, hot water, 1% NaOH and ethanol-benzene) and lignin content of lotus leafstalk were higher than those of plant bast fiber. The contents of holocellulose, lignin, and ash were 73.8%, 24.3%, and 4.3%, respectively. The pulp yields based on pulping methods were sulfomethylated pulping av. 52%, and alkaline pulping av. 42%. The conventional alkaline pulping shows better pulp and sheet properties than the sulfomethylated pulping which was modified pulping processes. But the sulfomethylated pulping shows higher brightness than alkali pulping. In the consequence of FE-SEM observation, lotus leafstalk pulp consists of various kinds of thin walled fibers which have large amount of small pits.

선박동적영역과 충돌위험평가식을 결합한 항해위험성평가모델 전개 (Establishment of Navigational Risk Assessment Model Combining Dynamic Ship Domain and Collision Judgement Model)

  • 이 연구는 운항자가 항해 중 위험을 느끼는 고정 및 이동 물표에 대한 해상교통위험성평가에 대한 것이다. 이를 위해 선박 길이와 속력, 선박조종성능이 고려된 동적선박영역을 기초로 한 충돌위험평가식을 구하였다. 특히, 동적선박영역과 충돌위험평가식을 하이브리드 결합하여 자선의 크기, 속력 등의 영향을 정량적으로 지표화한 항해위험성평가모델을 검토 및 개선하고자 한 것이다. 기존 항해위험성평가 모델에 적용이 부족한 속장비(speed length ratio) 즉, 선박의 길이와 속력에 대한 비가 고려된 새로운 형태의 해상교통위험성평가 모델을 제안하고자 한다. 그 결과 무차원 속력 즉, 속장비가 클수록 CJ 값이 크며, CJ 값은 속장비에 의해 잘 표현되고 있다. 또한, 속장비가 크면 속장비가 작은 경우보다, 보다 먼 거리에서부터 [주의], [경계], [위험] 또는 [매우위험]상태에 도달한다. 이 연구의 결과는 위험항로 회피 또는 최적항로 구축, 방파제폭이나 교량경간 등을 포함한 항로나 항만개발, 연안항해용 안전해도 개발 및 향후 자율운항선박과 같은 스마트선박의 운항 중 충돌방지와 최적항로 선정에 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

양자모델을 적용한 실리콘 나노선 트랜지스터의 채널 크기에 따른 전도 및 전하분포 특성 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of channel dimension dependent conduction and charge distribution characteristics of silicon nanowire transistors using a quantum model)

  • We report numerical simulations to investigate of the dependence of the on/off current ratio and channel charge distributions in silicon nanowire (SiNW) field-effect transistors (FETs) on the channel width and thicknesses. In order to investigate the transport behavior in devices with different channel geometries, we have performed detailed two-dimensional simulations of SiNWFETs and control FETs with a fixed channel length L of 10um, but varying the channel width W from 5nm to 5um, and thickness t from 10nm to 30nm. We have shown that $Q_{ON}/Q_{OFF}$ drastically decreases (from ${\sim}2.9{\times}10^4$ to ${\sim}9.8{\times}10^3$) as the channel thickness increases (from 10nm to 30nm). As a result of the simulation using a quantum model, even higher charge density in the bottom of SiNW channel was observed than that in the bottom of control channel.

Accuracy of periodontal probe visibility in the assessment of gingival thickness

  • Purpose: The present study was undertaken to examine whether periodontal probe visibility (PV) accurately reflects gingival thickness (GT) and to identify factors affecting PV using cluster and multivariate analyses. Methods: The clinical characteristics of the maxillary central incisors (n=90 subjects) were examined. Clinical photographs, sex, PV, probing depth, gingival width, papilla height, GT as measured with an ultrasonic device, and the ratio of crown width to crown length were recorded. Multivariate analysis, using multinomial baseline-category logistic regression, was used to identify factors predictive of PV. Cluster analysis was used to identify gingival biotypes. Results: In the multivariate analysis, sex was the only significant predictor of PV (odds ratio, 6.48). Two clusters of subjects were created based on morphometric parameters. The mean GT among cluster A subjects was significantly lower than that among cluster B subjects (P=0.015). No significant difference was found between cluster A and B subjects in terms of PV score (P=0.583). Conclusions: Periodontal PV was not associated with GT as measured directly using an ultrasonic device. Sex was a highly significant predictor of periodontal PV. GT was found to be correlated with morphological characteristics of the periodontium.

  • 시간영역 유한차분법을 이용하여 2.4 GHz와 5.8 GHz외 ISM 대역을 위한 이중대역 마이크로스트립 안테나를 설계한다. 2개의 구형 패치가 겹쳐진 십자형 패치를 안테나의 방사소자로 제안하고 급전 방식은 개구 결합을 이용한다. 안테나 설계를 위해 개구와 스터브 길이 변화에 따른 입력 임피던스의 변화를 살펴보고, 방사소자의 길이와 폭 변화에 따른 중심 주파수와 -10 dB대역폭을 고찰한다 반사손실에 대한 계산 결과를 IE3D의 해석 결과 및 측정 결과와 비교하여 잘 일치함을 확인하고, 주파수 2.43 GHz와 5.79 GHz에서 안테나의 방사패턴을 측정하여 -3 dB 빔폭, 전후방비 및 최대 이득을 제시한다.

Load-deflection analysis prediction of CFRP strengthened RC slab using RNN

  • In this paper, the load-deflection analysis of the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strengthened Reinforced Concrete (RC) slab using Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) is investigated. Six reinforced concrete slabs having dimension $1800{\times}400{\times}120mm$ with similar steel bar of 2T10 and strengthened using different length and width of CFRP were tested and compared with similar samples without CFRP. The experimental load-deflection results were normalized and then uploaded in MATLAB software. Loading, CFRP length and width were as neurons in input layer and mid-span deflection was as neuron in output layer. The network was generated using feed-forward network and a internal nonlinear condition space model to memorize the input data while training process. From 122 load-deflection data, 111 data utilized for network generation and 11 data for the network testing. The results of model on the testing stage showed that the generated RNN predicted the load-deflection analysis of the slabs in acceptable technique with a correlation of determination of 0.99. The ratio between predicted deflection by RNN and experimental output was in the range of 0.99 to 1.11.

Flexural and compression behavior for steel structures strengthened with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRPs) sheet

  • This paper presents the experimental results of flexural and compression steel members strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) sheets. In the flexural test, the five specimens were fabricated and the test parameters were the number of CFRP ply and the ratio of partial-length bonded CFRP sheets of specimen. The CFRP sheet strengthened steel beam had failure mode: CFRP sheet rupture at the mid span of steel beams. A maximum increase of 11.3% was achieved depending on the number of CFRP sheet ply and the length of CFRP sheet. In the compression test, the nine specimens were fabricated and the main parameters were: width-thickness ratio (b/t), the number of CFRP ply, and the length of the specimen. From the tests, for short columns it was observed that two sides would typically buckle outward and the other two sides would buckle inward. Also, for long columns, overall buckling was observed. A maximum increase of 57% was achieved in axial-load capacity when 3 layers of CFRP were used to wrap HSS columns of b/t = 60 transversely.
