Instantaneous Frequency Estimation of Doppler Signal using Wavelet Transform (웨이브릿 변환을 이용한 도플러 신호의 순간 주파수 추정)

  • Instantaneous Frequency(IF) of Doppler signals is used to get the information of relative velocity and miss distance between a missile and the corresponding target. Though Short-Time Fourier Transform(STFT) is mainly used to estimate IF, it has many errors in wide band signals where frequency changes sharply. Because it has a fixed window in time and frequency axes. This paper deals with IF estimation of Doppler signal using a Continuous Wavelet Transform(CWT) which has adaptive window in time and frequency axes. The proposed method is able to estimate IF regardless of frequency changes because it has a narrow window in high frequency band and a wide window in low frequency band. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms STFT in estimating IF.

  • This paper deals with the design and implementation of a limiter, which is a key component of the Ku-band radar system. The limiter design with the multi-pin diode switch was complemented by wideband signal attenuation, and realized the physical implementation. In the test result of implemented limiter, when the pin diode switch is all off, it is possible to transmit the incoming signal without distortion. Also when the pin diode switch is turned on sequentially, the input signal is attenuated about 20dB or more step by step. Finally when all of them were turned on, attenuation about 50dB or more were measured for a wide bandwidth(1000MHz) in Ku-band.

  • 본 논문에서는 UWB 통신을 위한 직교 변형 Hermite 파형형성함수와 정현파를 이용한 변조 Hermite펄스함수의 시간과 주파수 영역에서의 특성을 검토하였다. 그리고 이를 이용한 직교 펄스 다원접속 시스템의 송신기와 수신기를 구성하고 그 성능을 분석하였다.

The DOA Estimation of Wide Band Moving Sources

  • In this paper, a new method is proposed for tracking the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of the wideband moving source incident on uniform linear array sensors. DOA is estimated by focusing transformation matrices. To update focusing matrices along with new data snap shots, we use the FAST (Fast Approximate Subspace Tracking) method. Present focusing matrices are constructed by previous signal and its orthogonal basis vectors as well as present signal and its orthogonal basis vectors, which are the left and right singular vectors of the inner product of two approximated matrices. Simulation results are shown to illustrate the performance of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we developed a system for measuring a passive intermodulation distortion signal of the mobile communication RF module having a wide band characteristic. The Broadband was designed to represent the characteristics of the receiver to meet the low noise characteristics and wideband characteristics in the RF receiver were to represent a wide dynamic range(high dynamic range)from the RF receiving end. PIMD designed passive intermodulation distortion signal measured by applying the FPGA / DSP in the system was measured to record the program on the PC. Variable up to 650MHz-2700MHz showed up to-138dBc measured PIMD3.

  • According to the recent developments of computer, terrestrial broadcasting, satellite broadcasting and CATV technologies, Multimedia TV application combined with such technologies will emerge. Therefore, it is demanded that high-power, wide-band, and high-frequency performance. In this paper, HPA(high power amplifier) for digital TV transmission system is proposed. The analysis and evaluation on the proposed amplifier have been performed by 2-tone signal for general performance evaluation and by 8-VSB signal for comparison with real system. In result, proposed HPA satisfies requirements of high-power, wide-band, and high-frequency performance.

  • An L-band (1435-MHz~1535MHz) omnidirectional circular polarized wave antenna is designed and evaluated for transmitting/receiving of vehicle data. Conventioanl linear polarized wave antenna can not receive clearly all of the vehicle data which come from the wide driving test range on account of distortion. To vercome this problem, an omnidirectional circular polarized wave antenna is reuaried an designed. For the design, first of all, the charcteristics, design principle and theoretical background of circular polarized wav ewith a little signal loss ahve been reviewed. The characteristics of th edesigned antenna are analyzed wave with a little signal loss have been reviewed. The characteristics of the designed antenna is increased over 5dB comparing to that of linear polarized wave. Our results also demonstrate that the strength of vehicle data is flat enough over the full test range using this new antenna.

Feasibility study of wide-band low-profile ultrasonic sensor with flexible piezoelectric paint

  • This paper presents a feasibility study of flexible piezoelectric paint for use in wide-band low-profile surface-mount or embeddable ultrasonic sensor for in situ structural health monitoring. Piezoelectric paint is a piezoelectric composite with 0-3 connectivity. Because of its ease of application, piezoelectric paint can be readily fabricated into sensing element with complex pattern. This study examines the characteristics of piezoelectric paint in acoustic emission signal and ultrasonic guided wave sensing. A series of ultrasonic tests including pitch catch and pencil break tests were performed to validate the ultrasonic wave sensing capability of piezoelectric paint. The results of finite element simulation of ultrasonic wave propagation, and acoustic emission generated by a pencil lead break on an aluminum plate are also presented in this paper along with corresponding experimental data. Based on the preliminary experimental results, the piezoelectric paint appears to offer a promising sensing material for use in real-time monitoring of crack initiation and propagation in both metallic and composite structures.

  • In this paper, performance of a double binary turbo coded ultra wide band (UWB) system is analyzed and simulated in an indoor wireless channel. Binary pulse position modulation-time hopping (BPPM-TH) signals are considered. The indoor wireless channel is modeled as a modified Saleh and Valenzuela (SV) channel. The performance is evaluated in terms of bit error probability (BER). From the simulation results, it is seen that double binary turbo coding offers considerable coding gain with reasonable encoding complexity. It is also demonstrated that the performance of the UWB system can be substantially improved by increasing the number of iterations.

  • This paper describes the Dual-band WLAN transmitter with 2.4[GHz], 5[GHz]. Dual-band WLAN transmitter was designed at 2.4[GHz] and 5[GHz]. The Dual-band WLAN transmitter has a amplifier which operate at 2.4[GHz] and 5[GHz] frequency and two VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) or VCO has a wide scope of frequency. these problem cause a size and a power consumption, The Dual-band WLAN transmitter module was proposed to solve these. the transmitter was designed to get output signals of IEEE 802.11a's 5.8[GHz] band signal using frequency multiplication way or to act a amplifier about the 2.4[GHz] band signal of IEEE 802.11b/g, according to inputed frequency and bias voltage that a eve using single transmission block. The output spectrum get the improved specification of ACPR of 4[dB], 6[dB], 16[dB] at +11[MHz], +20[MHz], +30[MHz] offset of center frequency compared to no linearization, was satisfied to transmit spectrum mask of IEEE 802.11a wireless Lan.
