Energy Efficient Access Point Selection Method for IEEE802.11 Wireless LANs (IEEE802.11 무선망을 위한 에너지 효율적인 AP 선택 기법)

  • Nowadays, wireless local area networks are widely deployed so that stations can potentially associate with an access point. The AP selection strategy is one of the significant research areas for wireless local area networks. The selection strategy solves the relevant problem is which AP can be selected and associated with a station so that the efficient resource utilization can be obtained. Rather than merely choosing the AP with the strongest received signal strength, however, we calculate effective throughput for each neighboring AP and use it as a basis for AP selection. Referencing the throughput is better than referencing the signal strength only because the network may contain a severe load imbalance. We have performed computer simulations using OPNET modeler in order to verify the performance of the proposed scheme. The results show us that the proposed selection method outperforms that of the conventional one in terms of throughput and delay.

  • 무인항공기의 시장이 성장하면서 많은 무인항공기 수요와 개체 증가가 이루어지고 있다. 그에 따라 무선네트워크 해킹 위협에 대한 우려가 높아지고 있다. 실제로 판매되고 있는 소비자용 무인항공기가 해킹에 취약하다는 사례가 발생하면서 무인항공기의 네트워크 보안성을 높이는 것이 필요하다고 판단하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존 Wi-Fi는 가상AP의 비밀번호를 이용해 네트워크에 접속한 것과 다르게 사용자의 디바이스 정보를 활용하여 본인의 디바이스 정보를 이용한 접근이 아니면 네트워크에 접속할 수 없는 방안을 제안한다.

  • As Indoor Positioning System demands due to increased penetration and utilization of smart device, Indoor Positioning System using Wi-Fi or BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) beacon takes center stage. In this paper, a terminal location of the user is calculated through Microscopic Trilateration using RSSI based on BLE. In the next step, a fingerprinting map appling approximate value of Microscopic Trilateration increases an efficiency of computation amount and energy for Indoor Positioning System. I suggest Indoor Positioning Algorithm based on BLE fingerprinting considering efficiency of energy by conducting precise Trilateration that assure user's terminal position by using AP(Access Point) surrounding targeted fingerprinting cells. And This paper shows experiment and result based on An Suggesting Algorithm in comparison with a fingerprinting based on BLE and Wi-Fi that be used for Indoor Positioning System.

  • Many technologies for wireless internet are increasing as more and more laptop computers, net books, smart phone and other terminals, which provide wireless network, are created. IEEE 802.11 is computer wireless network technology that used in small area, called wireless LAN or Wi-Fi. IEEE 802.11 is a set of standards for implementing wireless local area network (WLAN) computer communication in the 2.4, 3.6 and 5 GHz frequency bands. They are created and maintained by the IEEE LAN/MAN Standards Committee (IEEE 802). AP (Access Point) is installed at cafes and public places providing wireless environment. It is more convenient to use wireless internet, however, It can be seen easily around us and possible to communicate with AP. IEEE 802.11 has many vulnerability, such as packet manipulation and information disclosure, so we should pay more attention when using IEEE 802.11. Therefore this paper developing monitoring system which can find out AP and Stations that connect with it, and capturing AP's information to find out vulnerability. This paper suggests monitoring system which traffic analysis in wireless environment.

  • 네트워크 가상화를 위한 대표적인 개방적 아키텍처로 OpenFow를 들 수 있다. OpenfFow는 가상 네트워크(Software Defined Network) 개념을 실현하기 위한 랜 스위치 제어 프로토콜의 집합체로서 데이터 센터 등 주로 유선랜 환경을 목표로 설계되어 활용되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 OpenFlow를 무선랜의 AP(Access Point)에 적용하여 WiFi 디바이스들로 구성된 가상 무선 네트워크 관리 프레임을 구현한다. 구현된 관리 프레임은 WiFi 디바이스들의 토폴로지와 트래픽 상황을 중앙 관제 센터에서 모니터링할 수 있고, 플로우 경로를 설정함으로써 라우터를 경유하지 않고 AP 수준에서 스위칭(라우팅)이 가능하여 전체적인 트래픽 혼잡을 크게 줄일 수 있다.

  • LBS(Location Based System) usually uses GPS technology to measure the exact position of the moving object. However, the method of managing location which utilizes the WiFi technology of mobile phone has not been introduced so far. The method of managing moving objects in view of the location of guardian has also not been proposed. In this paper, a new location management system of moving objects which take guardian's location into consideration is proposed. Specifically, the three methods of searching for missing child proposed in this paper are as follows : 1) a method based on an app for smart phone, 2) a method based on control server, 3) a method based on control server and fixed APs. Because the proposed system reflects the location of the guardian, the guardian is able to identify the state of child immediately and the workload can be reduced.

  • 컴퓨터의 발달이 가속화됨에 따라 인터넷은 더 이상 PC만의 전유물이 아닌 다양한 종류의 기기들에 접목되어 작업 능률을 높이고 있다. 이에 따른 장비 간 연결성을 높인 무선 네트워킹 분야도 비약적으로 발달되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터 주변 기기 중 스마트 프린팅 서비스에 초점을 맞추어 그 활용성을 높이고자한다. 시중의 스마트 프린터는 Wi-Fi direct로 연결된 PC나 노트북 등의 프린트가 손쉽게 가능하다. 하지만 Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi direct 연결이 되는 PC가 아니거나, 프린터와 PC가 유무선 연결이 되어있지 않은 환경에서는 사용하기 어렵다는 큰 한계점을 안고 있다. 이러한 점을 해소하고자 네트워크 내의 인쇄 작업 환경이 아니더라도, PC-스마트폰-프린터와 같은 구조를 통해 스마트폰이 AP 역할을 하여 사용자가 원하는 PC의 파일을 간편하게 프린트 가능한 환경을 조성하고자 한다. 즉, 언제 어디서나 어떠한 프린터와도 간접 1:1:1 연결을 통한 즉시 인쇄 서비스 구축을 목적으로 한다.

  • In case Wi-Fi network based First responder's position tracking system is used, range measurement must be generated from RSSI finger print database. However, it is impossible to build up finger print database and to perform rescue operation at same time in the scene of rescue. In this paper, improvised Wi-Fi network without finger print database and pedestrian dead reckoning based first responders tracking system is proposed.

  • With the development of water internet technology, data communication between objects is expanding. Research related to data communication technology between vehicles that incorporates related technologies into vehicles has been actively conducted. For data communication between mobile terminals, data stability, reliability, and real-time performance must be guaranteed. The 5 GHz Wi-Fi band, which is advantageous in bandwidth, communications speed, and wireless saturation of the wireless network, was selected as the data communications network between vehicles. This study analyzes how to design and implement a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network in a vehicle network. Considering the characteristics of the mobile communication terminal device, a continuous variable communications structure is proposed to enable high-speed data switching. We simplify the access point access procedure to reduce the latency between wireless terminals. By limiting the Transmission Control Protocol Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)-based Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server function and implementing it in a broadcast transmission protocol method, communication delay between terminal devices is improved. Compared to the general commercial Wi-Fi communication method, the connection operation and response speed have been improved by five seconds or more. Utilizing this method can be applied to various types of event data communication between vehicles. It can also be extended to wireless data-based intelligent road networks and systems for autonomous driving.

  • WBAN (Wearable Body Area Network)는 옷이나 몸에 이식된 디바이스들이 몸을 중심으로 결합이나 통신하는 네트워크를 뜻한다. 여기서 사람이 몸에 착용하는 장치인 웨어러블 디바이스는 가벼운 형태의 배터리를 요구한다. 그로 인해, 다른 기기들과는 달리 짧은 배터리 수명을 가질 뿐만 아니라 통신에 관한 제약을 발생시킨다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 저전력 프로토콜을 지원하는 다중대역 웨어러블 디바이스 제어 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) 기반의 프로토콜 스택으로 BLE, 6LoWPAN (IPv6 over Low power WPAN), CoAP (Constrained Application Protocol)을 적용해 데이터 패킷 크기를 감소 시키고 BLE/Wi-Fi 선택 기능을 통해 통신 제약을 완화하고 전체적인 WBAN 에서의 소비 전력을 감소하고자한다.
