  • The purpose of this study is a proposal about the flexibility of the performance category to revitalize the "Housing Performance Grading Indication System". This system consists of 5 main performance parts, 14 performance categories and 20 detailed performance lists. 5 main performance parts are Noise and Acoustics(Light-weight impact sound control, heavy-weight impact sound control, sound control of toilet, sound control of party wall), Long-life(flexibility, remodeling & maintenance, durability), Landscape & Indoor Environment(landscape, formaldehyde control& ventilation, daylighting, thermal environment), Welfare & Barrier-free(playground and community center, welfare space, barrier-free design), Fire Safety(fire safety, safe place, fire-resisting quality). The flexibility of the performance category is conformed to Long-life housing related grading and can realize the Long-life housing in response to resident needs about the space rearrangement. Now, The flexibility of the performance category is limited to the evaluation of the private space, that is, the Skeleton evaluation. This study would suggest alternatives to improve uppermost limits through analyzing 60 examples from January 9th 2009 to October 30th 2008. The flexibility of the performance category is possible to estimate not only the Skeleton evaluation but also the Infill evaluation in response to social changes.

  • The progress of industrialization in Korea has led to increase social participation by females and also a transition toward a nuclear family based system. As a result of it, Korea is nowadays confronted with the issue of childcare, which is emerging as a social problem. In Japan, both combined nurturing facilities and the exclusively dedicated facilities for disabled children are institutionally maintained on a consistent basis. In addition, the enactment of the Children Welfare Act has subsequently given birth to the establishment of the 'Minimum Standard Requirements for Children's Welfare Facilities'. With such act and standards in place, much attention is now paid to a physical improvement of disabled children nurturing facilities, too. In order to make the requirements for such facilities more complete and substantial, local governments have enacted their own ordinances on the basis of the major policies regarding the universal designs for the disabled, such as the Heart Building Act. As Japan has a cultural background similar to that of Korea and is equipped with the nurturing facilities systemized in accordance with the symptom and degree of disabilities, it is believed that a study on the current standards for disabled children in Japan will help to provide our domestic standards applicable to such facilities.

  • This study was conducted to verify the effectiveness of improving indoor environmental awareness, relieving stress, and improving learning efficiency in school indoor green space, and suggest desirable ways to develop indoor green space in the future. As part of the study, a survey was conducted among 225 individuals across six schools in a metropolitan area with garden and panel-type indoor gardens inside the school building. The survey comprised the current status and use of indoor green spaces, the perception of indoor green spaces, improvement measures in indoor green spaces, and basic properties. Semantic Differential (SD) was used to investigate the impression of school indoor spaces. Resultantly, the more frequent the use of green spaces in the school, the more they feel the positive effects of indoor green spaces, such as improving the school's indoor environment, reducing stress, and improving learning efficiency. In addition, it appears that the more frequent contact with the natural environment, the more they feel the positive effects provided by indoor green space at school. Therefore, it is suggested that educational conditions must be improved by revitalizing various green welfare, including indoor green areas, at the school level.

  • This study aims to discern the determinants influencing the perception of workability among the elderly population and delineate an appropriate retirement age within the labor market context. Employing binary logistic regression, this research utilizes data from the Korea Welfare Panel Study (2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020) provided by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Welfare. The findings indicate that key factors shaping the elderly's perception of workability encompass familial responsibilities (household and marital status) and their levels of physical and mental well-being. Econometric analysis suggests an anticipated retirement age for the elderly population ranging between 67 and 69 years. In addressing labor market demands and informing policymakers, the study proposes deliberations on extending the retirement age for individuals aged 60 to 65. This range serves as a compromise between the identified retirement age of 67 to 69 and the current average retirement age for elderly labor market participants. Bridging the disparity between the perceived workability age and the prevailing labor market baseline is crucial for achieving social consensus. Therefore, any extension of the retirement age should carefully consider both the demand and supply perspectives within the labor market. The study's contribution lies in two main aspects: firstly, presenting a retirement age framework for the labor market that integrates the workability of the elderly population, and secondly, providing evidence-based research outcomes to guide informed labor policies.

A database of healthy city is very essential and important because it makes healthy city projects alive by managing and sharing healthy city related data effectively. But we need to fill out some blank cells in DB because there are currently unavailable data for some indicators. In conclusion, we expect the web DB contributes information sharing of healthy city project teams and improving healthy city project quality at Wonju city in Korea.
