구형압입을 이용한 레이저 용접된 절단 휠의 잔류응력 분포 측정 (Stress Distribution around Laser-Welded Cutting Wheels Using a Spherical Indentation)

  • 레이저 용접부의 국소 잔류응력을 측정하기 위한 비파괴 기법으로 구형압입시험이 제안되었다. 용접상태 절단휠의 구형압입시험으로 얻어진 겉보기 항복강도와 절단횔 용접부에 대한 응력완화 열처리 이후 동등한 위치에서 구한 고유 항복강도를 정량적으로 비교하였다. 고유항복강도가 탄성한도 내의 잔류응력에 의해서 변화하지 않는다고 고려하면 용융선으로부터 거리에 따른 두 항복강도의 차이가 용접잔류응력의 분포로 나타난다. 레이저 용접된 다이아몬드 절단휠의 구형압입시험으로부터 약 10 mm 폭에 걸친 잔류응력의 분포를 확인하였으며, 잔류응력은 쌩크와 절단팁 내에서 각각 최대 압축 및 인장 잔류응력치를 나타내었다.

  • This paper is studied about welding conditions and weldability of seam welding for galvanized steel sheet of automotive. The fuel tank of automobile is made by seam welding to be required of airtight or oiltight. This method have required a short time for welding, simplicity operation progress and little HAZ. Especially, it has more less residual stress and transformation than different welding progress. So, this study is for decreasing the leakage occurrence rate and to make standard operating condition table anyone can operate easily. Therefore, this study is analyzed the optimum conditions of seam welding for making the automobile with galvanized steel sheets by means of observing the microstructure and configuration back projection, RT, tensile-shear strengths test and SEM. Optimum conditions of seam welding obtained as follows, current 17.2-17.6kA speed 1.0m/min weld time 4:10:6 and current 16.5-17.4kA, speed 0.83m/min, weld time 4:10:4 at t1.0, and current, 18.5-18.9kA, speed 0.8m/min, weld time 4:10:4 and current 16.5-17.4kA, speed 0.68m/mi, weld time 4:10:2 at t1.6.

일체형 원자로 안전주입 노즐 이종금속 용접부에 대한 레이저 피닝 적용의 수치 해석적 연구 (A Numerical Analysis on Application of Laser Peening to Dissimilar Metal Welds in a Safety Injection Nozzle of Integral Reactor)

  • 일체형 원자로의 안전주입 노즐 이종금속 용접부의 잔류응력에 대한 레이저 피닝의 효과를 고찰하기 위해 상용 프로그램인 ABAQUS를 이용하여 implicit 동적 유한요소 해석을 통해 연구를 수행하였다. implicit 동적 유한요소 해석은 기존의 실험 결과와의 비교에 따르면 레이저 피닝을 통한 잔류응력 이완에 대해 타당하다고 확인된다. 한편 내부 보수용접이 수행된 이종금속 용접부에 대해 해석이 수행되며 그 결과는 축방향 및 원환 잔류응력 모두 내부 보수용접에 기인하여 노즐의 내표면에서 인장임을 나타낸다. 또한 용접 잔류응력 이완에 대한 최대 충격 압력, 압력 지속 시간, 스폿 직경 및 피닝 방향과 같은 여러 변수의 효과를 고찰하기 위해 변수 해석 또한 수행하였다. 결과적으로, 레이저 피닝은 내표면 근처 영역의 잔류응력을 주로 이완시키는 예방정비 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

크롬탄화물 용사피막의 고온마모 특성연구 (A Study on Wear Properties of Plasma Sprayed $Cr_3C_2$-NiCr Coating at High Temperature)

  • The plasma sprayed $Cr_3C_2$-NiCr coatings are widely used as wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials. The mechanical and wear properties of the plasma sprayed $Cr_3C_2$-NiCr coating on steel plate were examined in this study. The pore in the coatings could be classified into two types, the one is the intrinsic pore originated from the spraying powder, the other is the extrinsic pore formed during spraying. During the tensile adhesion test, the fracture occured at the interface of top coating and bond coating. It is though that the compressive residual stress increases with the increase of the top coating thickness. From the wear test, it was found that the wear rate increased with the increase of the sliding velocity regardless of the temperature. It is thought that the fracture toughness reduces with the increase of the sliding velocity at $30^{\circ}C$ and that the adhesion amount increases with the increase of the sliding velocity at $400^{\circ}C$ It is concluded that the wear mechanism at $30^{\circ}C$ is the fracture and pull-out of the carbide particles due to the fatigue on sliding surface, while the wear mechanism at $400^{\circ}C$ is the adhesion of the smeared layer formed during wear process.

소성변형에 의한 배관 용접부의 잔류응력 개선 방법 (A Method of Residual Stress Improvement by Plastic Deformation in the Pipe Welding Zone)

  • The main components, such as a reactor vessel, in commercial nuclear power plants have been welded to pipes with dissimilar metal in which Primary Water Corrosion Cracking (PWSCC) has been occurred. PWSCC has become a worldwide issue recently. This paper addresses the results of experimental and numerical analysis to prevent PWSCC by changing the stress profile that is tensile stress to compressive stress at interesting regions with plastic deformation generated by mechanical pressure. Based on the results of experimental and numerical analysis with a 6 inch pipe and dissimilar metal welded pipes, compressive stress 68~206 Mpa is generated at all locations of inner surface in the heat affected zone.

  • A Chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (CISCC) of austenite stainless steel in dry cask storage system (DCSS) can occur with extending service time than originally designed. Cold spray coating (CSC) not only form a very dense microstructure that can protect from corrosive environments, but also can generate compressive stress on the surface. This characteristic of CSC process is very helpful to increase the resistance for CISCC. CSC with several powders, such as 304L, 316L and Ni can be optimized to form very dense coating layer. In addition, the impact energy generated as the CSC powder collides with the surface of base metal at a speed of Mach 2 or more can remove the residual tensile stress of welding area and serve the compress stress. CSC layers include no oxidation and no contamination with under 0.2% porosity, which is enough to protect from the penetration of corrosive chloride. Therefore, the CSC coating layer can be accompanied by a function that can be disconnected from the corrosive environment and an effect of improving the residual stress that causes CISCC, so the canister's CISCC resistance can be increased.

  • Recently, application of friction welded SUH35/SUH3 is increasing in the manufacturing process of automotive engine valves For securing its reliability and a reasonable strength evaluation method, it is necessary to assess stress singularity under the residual stress condition on the friction welded interface between dissimilar materials. In this paper, strength evaluation method of friction welded materials was investigated by boundary element method and static tensile testing. An advanced method of quantitative strength evaluation for SUH35/SUH3 friction welded material is to be suggested by establishing fracture criterion by using stress singularity factors.

스페클 간섭법에 의한 Nd:YAG 레이저 용접부의 변형해석 (Strain Analysis of Nd:YAG Laser Welding Zone by Speckle Interferometry)

  • This paper used the Laser Speckle Interferometry to present the strain analysis of Nd:YAG Laser welding zone. Previous TIG welding to sheet plate, which welds only high-skilled engineer, produces residual stress nearby welding zone due to thermal effect. However, Laser welding makes sheet pate welding easy and thermal effect minimum. Thermal effect zone is measured by strain analysis of the laser-welding zone by ESPI under tensile testing of sheet plate welded by Nd:YAG laser. The ESPI results, which compared with strain gage method, are agreed within error 3 %.

  • 건조 후 수행하는 수압시험 또는 화물의 적재 등과 같은 정하중은 파랑변동하중에 비하여 선체구조물에 상당히 큰 응력을 유발한다. 이러한 정하중이력에 의하여, 선체구조물의 응력집중으로 인해 피로강도가 문제되는 용접이음부에서는, 재료의 탄소성 거동에 의하여 초기용접잔류응력이 상당히 이완될 것으로 예상된다. 따라서, 이러한 용접이음부의 피로강도를 평가할 때에는 이완된 잔류응력의 영향을 고려하는 것이 보다 합리적이다. 본 연구에서는 선체구조물의 여러 가지 용접형태 중 Padding plate가 용접된 형태에 대하여 정하중이력($0.5{\sigma}Y,\;0.85{\sigma}Y$)에 의한 초기 용접잔류응력의 변화를 측정하며, 잔류응력의 변화가 피로강도에 미치는 영향을 검토한다.

장력법을 적용한 박판블록의 변형제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Deformation Control of Thin Plate Block by Applying the Tensioning Method)

  • The weld-induced deformation is more serious in thin plates than in thick plates because heat affect zone of thin plates is wider than that of thick plates and in addition internal and external constraints have much more influence upon weld-induced deformation of thin plates. This paper deals with the application of the mechanical tensioning method to butt weld of thin plates to reduce the transverse and longitudinal deformation. In order to investigate the quantitative effect of tensioning method upon the reduction of angular deformation and shrinkage in longitudinal and transverse direction of weld line, butt welding test has been carried out for several thin plate specimens with varying plate thickness and magnitude of tensile load. From the present experimental study, it has been found that the tensioning method is very effective in reducing the weld-induced residual stress as well as the weld-induced deformation.
