Formwork is a temporary structure that supports its weight and that of freshly placed concrete as well as construction live loads. In constructions site, pipe supports are usually used as shores which are consisted of the stab formwork. The strength of a pipe support is decreasing as it is frequently being used at the construction site. Among the accidents and failures that occur during concrete construction, there are many formwork failures which usually happen at the time concrete is being placed. The objective of this study is to find out the strength change of used pipe support and unused pipe supports according to aging. In this study, 2857 pipe supports were prepared. Among these pipe supports, 2337 pipe supports were lent to the construction companies free of charge. 520 pipe supports were kept on the outside. Compressive strength was measured by knife edge test and plate test at each 3 month. Test results show that the strength of unused pipe supports as well as used pipe supports was decreasing according to age, use frequency and load carrier, and the strength of used pipe supports was lower than the strength of unused pipe supports at the same age. So, the strength of used pipe supports from 191 days to present day was not satisfied the specification of KSF 8001. In this study, the strength of pipe support according to age, use frequency and load carrier was predicted using SPSS 12.0. It was known that the strength of pipe support using for 5 years was reduced to 42.8%. According to these results, it shows that attention has to be paid to formwork design using used pipe supports. Therefore, the present study results will be able to provide a firm base to prevent formwork collapses.
Background: Because a forward-leaning posture can cause increased back muscle activity and pain. Therefore, an innovative method to reduce back muscle activity and pain is required. Objects: This study aimed to investigate the effects of a head support on muscle activity and pain in a forward-leaning posture. Methods: A total of 14 male and 16 female students (average age, 21.65 ± 2.37 years; height, 166.15 ± 7.90 cm; and weight, 60.65 ± 9.00 kg) were recruited for the experiment. Two of them were excluded due to musculoskeletal disorders. The muscle activity and pain in the forward-leaning posture were assessed while participants washed dishes for 7 minutes with and without a head support. The condition of using a head support was randomly performed with a 5-minutes break. To confirm a lumbar flexion angle of 30° during the experiment, myoVIDEO was used, and surface electromyography was used to measure muscle activity. Pain was assessed using a 10-point visual analog scale (VAS). The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to analyze the data, with p < 0.05 indicating statistical significance. Results: The cervical, thoracic, and lumbar erector spinae muscle activities significantly decreased with the use of the head support, but there was no significant change in the gluteus maximus. There was a significant decrease in the VAS score for the lumbar erector spinae (p < 0.05), but there was no significant change in the VAS score for the cervical region. Conclusion: The use of a head support in a forward-leaning posture reduced cervical, thoracic, and lumbar erector muscle activity and pain. Therefore, it could be recommended during working in a forward-leaning posture, such as during dishwashing, cooking, and working as a factory employee.

This study focused on the regulations and support system of green rooftop landscaping between Korea and China. Our research found out regulations and support system to review the supplement point to understand the present state of green rooftop landscaping in the two countries. We aimed to provide basic legal information for the development of green rooftop landscaping regulations. Also, a management plan guide and after-evaluation guide were suggested. First, roof load safety is the foremost factor for the structure of green rooftop landscaping. It includes not only considering the weight of construction materials, but also accurately calculating weight of rain, snow and the rooftop's capacity for people when the rooftop is designed. Second, the appropriate waterproof and root material should be selected basing on climatic conditions. Third, a maintenance and management plan needs to be established to regularly check the plant, facilities, soil and to maintain them. Fourth, the criteria of quality inspection are waterproof and root resistant material, and the growth and development of plants. Waterproof and root resistant materials are a very important part of rooftop greening, so they must be strictly inspected after construction. Fifth, the support system of rooftop greening should be continuously improved. The choice of the object and the amount of support should be strictly stipulated so that the construction of rooftop is promoted when volunteers do rooftop greening.
A novel technology for homogeneous deposition of zeolite particles on a porous support was developed so that those particles played a seeding role for the growth of zeolite crystals. After the particles were dispersed in water, the aqueous solution was 134 through the bore of a porous tubular support. By keeping the other side of the support in a vacuum, the aqueous solution passed through the pores of the support, leading the particles to be homogeneously deposited on the support. The amount of the deposited particles was investigated by changing the following operating parameters: a particle concentration in the solution, a time for deposition, and the feeding rate of the solution. The amount of the deposited particles increased from 0.0019 g to 0.0208 g as the concentration of the particles was changed from 0.01 wt% to 0.3 wt%, while the feeding rate and the deposition time were kept to 100 mL/min and 4 min, respectively. As the deposition time was varied from 1 min to 4 min, the deposition amount increased from 0.0004g to 0.0019g at the typical condition of the rest parameters. Also, it was observed that the deposited weight increased from 0.0029 g to 0.01 g as the feeding rate increased from 100 mL/min to 300 mL/min. However, the total permeance of water and ethanol decreased through the zeolite membrane as the deposited weight increased.
In the shipbuilding and marine industry, as a technology for reducing the weight of parts to reduce energy and improve operational efficiency of ships is required, a method of applying fibers-reinforced composites which is high-strength lightweight materials, as part materials can be considered. In this study, the possibility of applying fibers-reinforced composites to the pipe support clamps was evaluated to reduce the weight of LNGC. The fibers-reinforced composites were manufactured using carbon fibers and glass fibers as reinforcing fibers. Through the computer simulation program, the properties of the reinforcing materials and the matrix materials of the composites were inversely calculated, and the performance prediction was performed according to the change in the properties of each fiber lamination pattern. In addition, the structural analysis of the clamps according to the thickness of the composites was performed through the finite element analysis program. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that attention is needed in selecting the thickness when applying the fibers-reinforced composites of the clamp for weight reduction. It is considered that it will be easy to change the shape of the structure and change the structure for weight reduction in future supplementary design.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of a lifestyle intervention program on weight gain, dietary habits, fatigue and pregnancy stress, blood pressure, and neonatal birth weight, using Cox's interaction model of client health behavior for overweight and obese women. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group pre-post test design. A total of 52 patients who met the selection criteria, including 25 in the experimental group and 27 in the control group, were the subjects of the study; they comprised overweight and obese pregnant women who were receiving prenatal care at A and B women's hospital in J province. The lifestyle intervention program ran for 12 weeks in total and consisted of interactions involving affective support, health information, and professional/technical competencies. The data collection period was from February 1, 2017 to August 31, 2017. Results: This study showed differences in the appropriate weight gain rate (χ2=6.17, p=.013), suppression of an increase in fatigue (t=-2.32, p=.012), and an increase in pregnancy stress (t=-1.87, p=.034). Yet, no differences in physical activity, dietary habits change, blood pressure, and neonatal birth weight (p>.05) were found. Conclusion: The study findings indicate that this program could be an effective intervention for the control of appropriate weight gain, fatigue, and pregnancy stress. Therefore, a lifestyle intervention program based on Cox's interaction model of client health behavior could be an efficient strategy for a positive health outcome of overweight and obesity pregnant women.

A hydraulic breaker is an attachment installed at the end of excavator arm and is used for breaking. As per the authors' knowledge, there have been no research results on reducing the weight of the hydraulic breaker even though this weight reduction is very important for improving the performance of the excavator. In this study, we minimize the weight of the housing of the hydraulic breaker under normal operating conditions, while the maximum stress of the housing is lower than the allowable stress. A meta-model, which is generated by using the CAE results for the sampling design points determined by an orthogonal array, is used to solve the minimization problem. The weight of the housing according to the optimal design is found to be lower than the original weight by 4.8% while satisfying the constraint on the maximum stress.

Class probability is a fundamental target in classification that contains complete classification information. In this article, we propose a class probability estimation method when the predictor is functional. Motivated by Wang et al. (Biometrika, 95, 149-167, 2007), our estimator is obtained by training a sequence of functional weighted support vector machines (FWSVM) with different weights, which can be justified by the Fisher consistency of the hinge loss. The proposed method can be extended to multiclass classification via pairwise coupling proposed by Wu et al. (Journal of Machine Learning Research, 5, 975-1005, 2004). The use of FWSVM makes our method model-free as well as computationally efficient due to the piecewise linearity of the FWSVM solutions as functions of the weight. Numerical investigation to both synthetic and real data show the advantageous performance of the proposed method.

This research is experimental paper to prepare the structural safety of the upper bridge for support type on tunnel and the effect of settlement. Unit weight test and uni-axial compression test have been performed to simulate the physical property of foundation on the tunnel. Tunnel model of slip form type for centrifuge model has been developed to performed the tunnel excavation while field stress is activated. And the support type of tunnel such as umbrella arch method and large diameter steel pipe reinforce method has been tested for the centrifuge model. After the analysis of experiment, results show that internal displacement of large diameter steel pipe reinforce method is smaller than that of the umbrella arch method.
This thesis examines the problems faced in the electronic bill of lading for which improvements are necessary, and suggests various ways of overcoming those problems. First, to build a negotiation system for electronic B/Ls, active participation from related parties in addition to the government support is essential. Second, electronic B/Ls cannot be utilized within a short period of time in current commercial practices. Third, there should be infrastructure which connects all parties of international commerce through an electronic system. Fourth, instead of promoting mutual recognition through international treaty, there should be a plan which legally specifying mutual recognition between certification authorities. Fifth, it is needed to ease the strictness of electronic signature to promote the global negotiation of electronic B/Ls. Lastly, in prima facie weight of evidence, there was a significant difference with the Rotterdam Rules even in comparison with the Commercial Act which was amended with the significantly advanced rules on electronic B/L. He believed there should be a discreet consideration on these matters at the revision of the Commercial Act. For this, the government has to provide support more aggressively with more interest and commitments.
