양방향 모델을 적용한 Full-image Guided Filter의 효율적인 VLSI 구조 (Efficient VLSI Architecture of Full-Image Guided Filter Based on Two-Pass Model)

  • Full-image guided filter는 커널 윈도우 영역만 필터링에 반영되는 기존의 커널 윈도우 기반 가이드 필터와 달리 가중치 전파 도식과 양방향 모델이 적용되어 영상의 모든 픽셀이 필터링에 반영된다. 이로써 가이드 필터의 경계 보존과 평활화 등의 가이드 이미지 필터의 특성을 유지하면서도 계산 복잡도를 개선할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 full-image guided filter의 더 빠른 처리가 필요한 스테레오 비전 및 각종 실시간 시스템 분야에 적용될 수 있도록 효율적인 하드웨어 구조를 제안하였다. 필터링 프로세스에서 발생하는 각종 데이터의 종속성 분석과 영상의 PSNR 분석, 데이터 빈도 분석 등을 통하여 적합한 하드웨어 구조를 제안하였다. 또한 양방향 모델이 적용된 가중치 연산 모듈의 휴식 구간이 최소화되도록 효율적인 스케줄링을 하였고 실시간 처리가 가능하게 하였다. 제안한 하드웨어 구조는 동부하이텍 0.11um 표준셀 라이브러리로 합성하였을 경우 최대 동작주파수 214MHz(384*288 영상: 965 fps)와 76K(내부 메모리 제외) 게이트의 하드웨어 복잡도를 나타냈다.

랜덤 임펄스 잡음을 제거하기 위한 가중치 스위칭 필터를 이용한 영상 복원 알고리즘 (Image Restoration Algorithm using Weighted Switching Filter for Remove Random-Valued Impulse Noise)

  • 현대 사회는 4차 산업 혁명과 더불어 디지털 장비의 사용이 증가하여 영상 및 신호처리의 중요성이 높아지고 있으며, 이와 함께 잡음 제거에 관한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문은 랜덤 임펄스 잡음 제거를 위한 스위칭 필터 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 영상에 존재하는 잡음 수준을 판단하여 임계값을 구하며, 임계값은 입력 화소값과 기준치의 차이와 비교되어 필터의 가중치 스위칭 과정에 사용한다. 필터의 최종 출력은 스위칭에 따라 화소 가중치 및 변형된 가중치 메디안 필터를 적용하여 추정치를 구하며, 추정치와 입력 화소값을 비교하여 최종 출력을 구한다. 제안한 알고리즘의 성능을 평가하기 위해 시뮬레이션 및 PSNR 등을 이용하여 기존 방법들과 비교하였다.

  • This paper describes high speed squirrel cage induction motor drives without speed sensors using neural network based on Kalman filter Learning. High speed motors are receiving inverasing attentions in various applications, because of advantages of high speed, small size and light weight with same power level. Larning rate by Kalman filtering is time varying, convergence time fast, effect of initial weight between neurons is small.

직접필터법을 이용한 석영 분석시 고령석의 영향 및 보정방법 평가 (The evaluation of correction methods and effect of kaolinite on quantitative analysis of quartz in respirable dust by FTIR direct-on-filter method)

  • To establish the Fourier-Transform Infra-Red spectrophotometry(FTIR) Direct-On-Filter(DOF) technique as a useful analytical method for quartz in respirable dust samples, an influence of the kaolinite should be corrected. Respirable dust, created in a dust chamber containing the standard material of quartz and kaolinite were collected using a cyclone equipped with a 25 mm, $0.8\;{\mu}m$ pore size DM filter as a collection medium. This study was designed to compare three methods of correction for kaolinite when quantifying the content of quartz, including the least square, the optimum choice and the spectral subtraction methods. The content of quartz in the respirable dust samples was overestimated by 6.2% when mixed with kaolinite(35.5% by weight). The content of quartz containing kaolinite(72.8% by weight) were overestimated by 32%. The spectral subtraction method underestimated the quartz content by 1.5%, while the other two correction methods, the optimum choice and the least square method, overestimated the quartz content by 1.9% to 6.4% and 0.04 to 1.1%, respectively. The results of this study are suggested that, when correcting for effects of kaolinite on quantitative analysis of quartz in respirable dust by FTIR direct-on-filter method, the least square method produce the most unbiased results be compared with those of other correction methods.

Kalman Filter-Based Ensemble Timescale with 3- Hydrogen Masers

  • A Kalman filter algorithm is used for the generation of an ensemble timescale with three hydrogen masers maintained in KRISS. Allan deviation curves of three pairs of clocks were obtained by a three-cornered hat method and were used as reference curves for determination of parameters of the Kalman filter-based timescale. The ensemble timescale equation of a 3-clock system was established, and the clocks' phases estimated by the Kalman filter were used as the prediction time of each clock in the equation. The weight of each clock was determined inversely proportional to the Allan variance calculated with the clocks' phases. The Allan deviation of the weighted mean was 1.2×10-16 at the averaging time of 57,600 s. However when we made fine adjustments of the clocks' weight, the minimum Allan deviation of 2×10-17 was obtained. To find out the reason of the great improvement in the frequency stability, additional researches are in progress theoretically and experimentally.

Reduction of GPS Latency Using RTK GPS/GNSS Correction and Map Matching in a Car NavigationSystem

  • The difference between definition time of GPS (Global Positioning System) position data and actual display time of car positions on a map could reduce the accuracy of car positions displayed in PND (Portable Navigation Device)-type CNS (Car Navigation System). Due to the time difference, the position of the car displayed on the map is not its current position, so an improved method to fix these problems is required. It is expected that a method that uses predicted future positionsto compensate for the delay caused by processing and display of the received GPS signals could mitigate these problems. Therefore, in this study an analysis was conducted to correct late processing problems of map positions by mapmatching using a Kalman filter with only GPS position data and a RRF (Road Reduction Filter) technique in a light-weight CNS. The effects on routing services are examined by analyzing differences that are decomposed into along and across the road elements relative to the direction of advancing car. The results indicate that it is possible to improve the positional accuracy in the along-the-road direction of a light-weight CNS device that uses only GPS position data, by applying a Kalman filter and RRF.

  • 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스에 대한 요구가 증가됨에 따라, 영상을 정보전달의 수단으로 사용하기 위한 기술들이 급격히 발전하고 있다. 영상에 첨가되는 여러 가지 잡음을 제거하기 위해, 평균 필터, 메디안 필터, 가중치 필터 방법 등이 제안되었으나 기존의 방법들은 잡음제거 및 에지 보존 성능이 미흡하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 영상에 첨가되는 복합잡음을 효과적으로 제거하기 위해 먼저 잡음을 판단한 후, 변형된 메디안 필터와 적응 가중치 평균 필터를 이용하여 처리하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 그리고 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 방법들과 비교하였으며 판단의 기준으로 PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio)을 사용하였다.

필터뱅크에 적합한 새로운 구조를 갖는 저대역 튜너블 BPF에 관한 연구 (A Study on Low-Band Tunable BPFs with a Novel Structure Suitable for the Filter Bank)

  • In this paper, we present a tunable BPF with a novel structure. The filter is very useful to optimization of low frequency filter performance, because the fiilter has air-coils and tuning screws. This filter also has the merits of light weight and small size in comparison with conventional tunable filter at low frequency. This type filters are especially suitable for switched filter bank due to tuning structure. We designed 4 channel filter bank with two SP4Ts and 4 BPFs using novel structure. Tuning processes were subsequently executed. We obtained satisfactory performances as a result; consequently, the validity of our proposal was proved.

  • For a lightly damped system, IIR based filter can have better performance than FIR filter as an adaptive filter in ANC algorithm. IIR based filter which has an infinite impulse response can model a lightly damped acoustic system with a small number of weights compared that of FIR filter and has no nonlinearity and instability problems on weight updating process which are associated to the conventional IIR filters. There are, however, some drawbacks such as design parameters to be determined earlier to get better performance and much increased computational power especially in the presence of error path. In this study, base filter parameters are determined in systematic manner, with the knowledge of the nominal impulse response of the system which should be identified, by Prony's method. Three methods reducing the computational load are proposed and their performance and application limits are discussed. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
