  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the weight bearing of the cane and foot for the different walking aids during walking. Methods: A total of 12 subjects (6 males, 6 female) with stroke were enrolled in the study. Foot sensor and an instrumented cane were integrated to analyze the vertical peak force on the foot and cane. Results: The vertical peak force applied on the quad cane gait resulted in a significantly higher rate, which was $10.60{\pm}6.48%$ of the body weight, when compared to that of mono cane gait which was $7.91{\pm}4.11%$. The results indicated significantly lower vertical peak force on the affected foot, without the help of a walking aid, as compared to that of walking with a cane (respectively, p<0.05). However, results showed that the differences in vertical peak force on the affected foot, between mono cane and quad cane, were not significant. Conclusion: In conclusion, the vertical peak forces were significantly greater, during a comparison between walking with a quad cane and walking with a mono cane. On the contrary, no significant difference in the vertical peak force on the affected foot between walking with quad cane and walking with a mono cane. Muscle activation pattern and walking pattern should be measured in future studies, to study the differences between walking with various walking aids in the lower and higher functioning hemiparetic subjects, as its use may mask underlying gait impairment.

  • Recently, with the development of artificial intelligence and IoT technology, automation, and unmanned work are progressing in various fields, and the importance of image processing, which is the basis of AI object recognition, is increasing. In particular, in systems that require detailed data processing, noise removal is used as a preprocessing step, but the existing algorithm does not consider the noise level of the image, so it has the disadvantage of blurring in the filtering process. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a modified Gaussian filter that determines the weight by determining the noise level of the image. The proposed algorithm obtains the noise estimate for the AWGN of the image using quadtree segmentation, determines the Gaussian weight and the pixel weight, and obtains the final output by convolution with the local mask. To evaluate the proposed algorithm, it was simulated compared to the existing method, and superior performance was confirmed compared to the existing method.

  • With the development of IoT technology, image processing is being utilized in various fields such as image analysis, image recognition, medical industry, and factory automation. Noise is generated in image data from causes such as defect in transmission line. Image noise must be removed because it damages the performance of the image processing application program. Salt and Pepper noise is a representative type of image noise, and various studies have been conducted to remove Salt and Pepper noise. Widely known methods include A-TMF, AFMF, and SDWF. However, as the noise density increases, the performance deteriorates. Thus, this paper proposes an algorithm that performs filtering using a fuzzy logic weight mask only in case of noise after noise determination. In order to prove the noise removal performance of the proposed algorithm, an experiment was performed on images with 10% to 90% noise added and the PSNR was compared.

  • For patients receiving chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatment progresses as vomiting, nausea, weight of the patient because of a loss of appetite it is reduced. The patient's weight and the distance from the skin and the treatment site is expected to be closer, thereby reducing the change in the skin because of this dose. This study tests using a loose see the difference between the volume change appears as the weight of the patient using the same phantom and the phantom body of the patient. To using the same as the position EBT film is attached to the skin of the treatment site and was adjusted to the thickness of the Bolus. And using a computerized treatment planning only tomotherapy equipment was passed under the conditions according to the thickness of the radiation dose. To baseline for accurate reproduction position using the MVCT was applied to treated with verification. By passing a total of three dose reduced the error, it was a measure of the film by using a dedicated scanner, EBT VIDAR scanner. Got an increase in the skin dose is displayed each time the thickness of the bolus reduced, in a bolus was completely removed with the highest value. If the changes appeared dose was greater weight loss patients to chemotherapy and therefore bolus thickness variation considering the weight loss of the patient when applying the tomotherapy of nasopharynx cancer was found that the increase in skin dose be increased. This large patient before treatment due to weight loss over the image verification is considered to be established should consider how to re-create your mask and treatment plan for fixing it.

  • Although image signal processing is used in many fields, degradation takes place in the process of transmitting image data by several causes. CWMF, A-TMF, and AWMF are the typical methods to eliminate noises from image data damaged under salt and pepper noise environment. However, those filters are not effective for noise rejection under highly dense noise environment. In this respect, the present study proposed an algorithm to remove in salt and pepper noise. In case the center pixel is determined to be non-noise, it is replaced with original pixel. In case the center pixel is noise, it segments local mask into 4 directions and uses linear interpolation to estimate original pixel. And then it applies spatial weight to the estimated pixel. The proposed algorithm shows a high PSNR of 24.56[dB] for House images that had been damaged of salt and pepper noise(P = 50%), compared to the existing CWMF, A-TMF and AWMF there were improvements by 16.46[dB], 12.28[dB], and 12.32[dB], respectively.

  • Pickled hen egg dipped in brewed apple vinegar for 7 and 14 days was prepared and changes of weight, pH, viscosity, calcium content, antioxidative effect, and sensory characteristics were determined. During a pickling, the egg weight was increased from 62.03 g at day 0 to 91.13 and 94.93 g at day 7 and 14, respectively. The pH of the egg white and yolk, initially at pH 10.24 and 6.56, was decreased, while that of the pickling solution was increased by the pickling days. Viscosity of the pickled egg white was significantly decreased with the pickling days (p<0.05). Significant antioxidative effect was found from the pickled egg mixture (egg white:yolk=1:1). Calcium content of the egg white after 7 and 14 days of the pickling was 280-300 times higher than the fresh egg white and 1.9 times higher than fresh egg yolk. Addition of plain yogurt and honey improved the sensory quality of a pickled egg and was able to mask the unpleasant sour taste. Results suggest that, in addition to the use of pickled egg by itself, egg-based foods such as mayonnaise with enforced calcium content can be developed using a pickled egg.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze weight bearing of cane and affected foot at different speeds during walking. Methods : Thirteen subjects (6 males, 7 females) with stroke enrolled in the study. A foot sensor and an instrumented cane were integrated to analyze the vertical peak force on the affected foot and the cane. Results : The applied vertical peak force on the cane were $12.02{\pm}4.80%$ (slow speed), $7.97{\pm}3.95%$ (comfortable speed), and $6.86{\pm}3.30%$ (fast speed) body weight, respectively. The results indicated significantly lower vertical peak force on the affected foot in the low speed walking condition when compared to the fast walking (p<.05) and the comfortable walking (p<.05) conditions. The correlations between TUG and vertical peak force on the cane and affected foot were .71, and -.70 (p<.01). There was a higher correlation between the vertical peak force on the cane and affected foot were -.87(p<.01). Conclusion : In conclusion, slower walking speed applied greater vertical peak force on the cane. On the contray, slower walking speed applied less vertical peak force on the affected foot. Further studies, duration of force should be measured at different speeds during walking in lower and higher functioning hemiparetic subjects, as its use may mask underlying gait impairment.

  • With the development of IoT technology, various technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation are being grafted into industrial sites, and accordingly, the importance of data processing is increasing. In particular, a system based on a digital image may cause a malfunction due to noise in the image due to a sensor defect or a communication environment problem. Therefore, research on image processing has been continued as a pre-processing process, and an effective noise reduction technique is required depending on the type of noise and the characteristics of the image. In this paper, we propose a modified spatial weight filter to protect edge components in the impulse noise reduction process. The proposed algorithm divides the filtering mask into four regions and calculates the standard deviation of each region. The final output was filtered by applying a spatial weight to the region with the lowest standard deviation value. Simulation was conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, and it showed superior impulse noise reduction performance compared to the existing method.

  • Image signal is corrupted by various noises in image processing, many studies are being accomplished to restore those images. In this paper, we proposed a cascade filter algorithm for removing random valued impulse noise. The algorithm consists two steps that noise detection and noise elimination. Variance of filtering mask and center pixel variance are calculated for noise detection, and the noise pixel is replaced by estimated value which first apply switching self adaptive weighted median filter and finally processed by modified weight filter. Considering the proposed algorithm only remove noise and preserve the uncorrupted information that the algorithm can not only remove noise well but also preserve edge.

  • We proposed a new directional edge based interpolation, DEBI, by combining two weighted directional information to reduce blurred edges and annoying artifacts. Four isotropic gradient masks are employed in defining edge directions and they are proven to hold a first order derivative relation with respect to a rotating coordinate. Two minimum gradients among four absolute directional results are shown to be sufficient to describe slant edges efficiently. Compared with widely used bilinear and bicubic interpolation methods, the proposed algorithm results in a noticeable improvement along edge area.
