Traditional frequent pattern mining considers equal profit/weight value of every item. Weighted Frequent Pattern (WFP) mining becomes an important research issue in data mining and knowledge discovery by considering different weights for different items. Existing algorithms in this area are based on fixed weight. But in our real world scenarios the price/weight/importance of a pattern may vary frequently due to some unavoidable situations. Tracking these dynamic changes is very necessary in different application area such as retail market basket data analysis and web click stream management. In this paper, we propose a novel concept of dynamic weight and an algorithm DWFPM (dynamic weighted frequent pattern mining). Our algorithm can handle the situation where price/weight of a pattern may vary dynamically. It scans the database exactly once and also eligible for real time data processing. To our knowledge, this is the first research work to mine weighted frequent patterns using dynamic weights. Extensive performance analyses show that our algorithm is very efficient and scalable for WFP mining using dynamic weights.
The general frequent pattern mining considers frequency and support of items. To extract useful information, it is necessary to consider frequency and weight of items that reflects the changing of user interest as time passes. The suitable services considering time or location is requested by user so that the weighted mining method is necessary. We propose a method of weighted frequent pattern mining based on service ontology. The weight considering time and location is given to service items and it is applied to association rule mining method. The extracted rule is combined with stored service rule and it is based on timely service to offer for user.
Since frequent pattern mining was proposed in order to search for hidden, useful pattern information from large-scale databases, various types of mining approaches and applications have been researched. Especially, frequent graph pattern mining was suggested to effectively deal with recent data that have been complicated continually, and a variety of efficient graph mining algorithms have been studied. Graph patterns obtained from graph databases have their own importance and characteristics different from one another according to the elements composing them and their lengths. However, traditional frequent graph pattern mining approaches have the limitations that do not consider such problems. That is, the existing methods consider only one minimum support threshold regardless of the lengths of graph patterns extracted from their mining operations and do not use any of the patterns' weight factors; therefore, a large number of actually useless graph patterns may be generated. Small graph patterns with a few vertices and edges tend to be interesting when their weighted supports are relatively high, while large ones with many elements can be useful even if their weighted supports are relatively low. For this reason, we propose a weight-based frequent graph pattern mining algorithm considering length-decreasing support constraints. Comprehensive experimental results provided in this paper show that the proposed method guarantees more outstanding performance compared to a state-of-the-art graph mining algorithm in terms of pattern generation, runtime, and memory usage.

A sequential pattern mining is finding out frequent patterns from the data set in time order. In this field, a dynamic weighted sequential pattern mining is applied to a computing environment that changes depending on the time and it can be utilized in a variety of environments applying changes of dynamic weight. In this paper, we propose a new sequence data mining method to explore the stream data by applying the dynamic weight. This method reduces the candidate patterns that must be navigated by using the dynamic weight according to the relative time sequence, and it can find out frequent sequence patterns quickly as the data input and output using a hash structure. Using this method reduces the memory usage and processing time more than applying the existing methods. We show the importance of dynamic weighted mining through the comparison of different weighting sequential pattern mining techniques.
An efficient frequent pattern algorithm is essential for mining association rules as well as many other mining tasks for convergence with its application spread over a very broad spectrum. Models for mining pattern have been proposed using a FP-tree for storing compressed information about frequent patterns. In this paper, we propose a centroid frequent pattern growth algorithm which we called "CAWFP-Growth" that enhances he FP-Growth algorithm by making the center of weights and frequencies for the itemsets. Because the conventional constraint of maximum weighted support is not necessary to maintain the downward closure property, it is more likely to reduce the search time and the information loss of the frequent patterns. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves better performance than other algorithms without scarifying the accuracy and increasing the processing time via the centroid of the items. The MapReduce framework model is provided to handle large amounts of data via a pseudo-distributed computing environment. In addition, the modeling of the proposed algorithm is required in the fully distributed mode.
For developing the location based service which is individualized and specialized according to the characteristic of the users, the spatio-temporal pattern mining for extracting the meaningful and useful patterns among the various patterns of the mobile object on the spatio-temporal area is needed. Thus, in this paper, as the practical application toward the development of the location based service in which it is able to apply to the real life through the pattern mining from the huge historical data of mobile object, we are proposed STOMP(using Frequency of sequence and Weight) that is the new mining method for extracting the patterns with spatial and temporal constraint based on the problems of mining the optimal moving pattern which are defined in STOMP(F)[25]. Proposed method is the pattern mining method compositively using weighted value(weights) (a distance, the time, a cost, and etc) for our previous research(STOMP(F)[25]) that it uses only the pattern frequent occurrence. As to, it is the method determining the moving pattern in which the pattern frequent occurrence is above special threshold and the weight is most a little bit required among moving patterns of the object as the optimal path. And also, it can search the optimal path more accurate and faster than existing methods($A^*$, Dijkstra algorithm) or with only using pattern frequent occurrence due to less accesses to nodes by using the heuristic moving history.
Data mining is defined as the process of discovering meaningful and useful pattern in large volumes of data. In particular, finding associations rules between items in a database of customer transactions has become an important thing. Some data structures and algorithms had been proposed for storing meaningful information compressed from an original database to find frequent itemsets since Apriori algorithm. Though existing method find all association rules, we must have a lot of process to analyze association rules because there are too many rules. In this paper, we propose a new data structure, called a Frequent Pattern Network (FPN), which represents items as vertices and 2-itemsets as edges of the network. In order to utilize FPN, We constitute FPN using item's frequency. And then we use a clustering method to group the vertices on the network into clusters so that the intracluster similarity is maximized and the intercluster similarity is minimized. We generate association rules based on clusters. Our experiments showed accuracy of clustering items on the network using confidence, correlation and edge weight similarity methods. And We generated association rules using clusters and compare traditional and our method. From the results, the confidence similarity had a strong influence than others on the frequent pattern network. And FPN had a flexibility to minimum support value.

Most of the existing pattern mining techniques are capable of searching patterns according to the continuous change of the spatial information of an object but there is no constraint on the spatial information that must be included in the extracted pattern. Thus, the existing techniques are not applicable to the optimal path search between specific nodes or path prediction considering the nodes that a moving object is required to round during a unit time. In this paper, the precision of the path search according to the spatial hierarchy is analyzed using the Spatial-Temporal Optimal Moving Pattern(with Frequency & Weight) (STOPM(FW)) algorithm which searches for the optimal moving path by considering the most frequent pattern and other weighted factors such as time and cost. The result of analysis shows that the database retrieval time is minimized through the reduction of retrieval range applying with the spatial constraints. Also, the optimal moving pattern is efficiently obtained by considering whether the moving pattern is included in each hierarchical spatial scope of the spatial hierarchy or not.
Objectives : The aim of this paper is finding the combinations of the medicinal herbs that are used frequently by analyzing the details of the herbal medicinal prescriptions used by the patients who were diagnosed with M54 code diseases. In addition, I will seek to assess the demonstrative pattern that frequently manifest in the M54 code disease patients by using the combinations of the medicinal herbs that are used frequently. Methods : After having extracted the prescription administered to the patients with the diagnostic code of M54, find the relevance with the demonstrative pattern by analyzing the combination for each of the medicinal herb effectiveness. Use the list of medicinal herbs utilized in the corresponding prescription to examine the most frequent combination of the medicinal herbs through the generation of up to 25 arbitrary combinations of the medicinal herbs. Results & Conclusions : As the results of the analysis of the details of the use of the prescribed herbal medicine packages by the Korean Medicine Hospital of Pusan National University, regarding the back pain of the diagnostic code M54, the prescriptions that corresponded to the kidney deficiency pattern, static blood pattern, wind pattern, dampness pattern, food accumulation pattern, qi depression pattern and phlegm-retained fluid pattern back pain among the back pain classifications under the Dongeuibogam (東醫寶鑑) were used frequently, and, regarding the Nape Pain, prescriptions that corresponded to the pain arising from the wind-dampness and phlegm the 'Taeyang meridian' was most frequent.
This study was undertaken to assess eating habits and food consumption pattern of 365 adolescent girls in Kwangju area. Subjects were divided into 3 groups based on relative body weight as obesity index. Anthropometric data showed that mean height and weight were $161.9{\pm}19.0cm$ and $53.3{\pm}7.2kg$ respectively which are similar to those in the Korean Standard Growth data. Mean BMI and relative body weight were 20.50 and 97.1%. Age of menarche in the subjects significantly influenced the obesity index. Food habit score in the underweight group was significantly lower than that in the normal group at ${\alpha}=0.2$ level by multiple range test. Obesity was significantly associated with more frequent and irregular eating. It seems that students in the obese group were concerned on their body weight and tended to consume much vegetable. Obese group consumed more fruits, less butter and fruit juice compared to other groups. It might be suggested that more effective nutrition program might be developed and implemented to ensure good food habit of adolescent girls including obese as well as underweight group.
