  • This study develops tight-fitting upper clothing to measure electrocardiography (ECG) data. Taking into consideration the elasticity of the clothing, we made 4 experimental clothes by applying to each a weft reduction rate of 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70%. The 4 experimental clothes were used to measure resting ECG, exercise ECG, and post-exercise ECG for 4 men in their 20s. We compared clothing pressures using sensors on the human body and on a dressform. Subjective wear sensations of the 4 experimental clothes were evaluated using a subjective 7-point scale (with 7 being most excellent). We measured clothing pressures by using the air type pressure (AMI 3037-2) for upper and lower chest sensors in the developed tight-fitting upper clothing. The lower chest sensor showed that the clothing pressure on a human body and dressform changed consistently as the weft reduction rate decreased. The upper chest sensor showed inconsistent changes in clothing pressure as the weft reduction rate decreased. The wearing-test result for preliminary subjects showed that the lower chest sensor was more stable than the upper chest sensor; therefore, we inserted the sensor at the lower chest position before performing ECG. Except for Subject 4, the resting ECGs were stably measured for 3 subjects (Subject 1, Subject 2, and Subject 3) in all the developed clothes (A clothing, B clothing, C clothing, and D clothing). However, D clothing showed stable ECG values after exercise. The results of the experiment showed that we could measure ECG without difficulty using clothes with a weft reduction rate of 40% when the movement was not intense; however, tight-fitting upper clothing with a weft reduction rate of 70% was necessary to measure exercise ECG and post-exercise ECG values.

  • This study surveys the mechanical properties such as tensile and compressional properties to the weight reduction rate of PET fabrics with various weft linear densities, weft t.p.m. and desities. 18 kinds of plain and 12 kinds of satin weave fabrics were woven and processed with variation of weight reduction rate(0%, 12%, 25% and 30%) in dyeing and finishing processes. Tensile work, resilience and compressional work and resilience of these finished fabrics treated with different weight reduction rates were measured by KES-FB System and discussed with various wok linear densities, weft t.p.m., densities, and weight reduction rates.

  • This study discussed the mechanical properties such as bending and shear of polyester fabric treated with a several weight reduction machine. With the increase in the rate of weight loss, the bending rigidity of the warp and weft of treated fabric decreased regardless of the weight reduction machine. At 6.5% weight loss, the bending rigidity of warp and weft yarn decreased to $0.035\;gfcm^2/cm$ and $0.017\;gfcm^2/cm$, respectively, and these values show 54% and 94% of their untreated warp and weft. At same rate of the weight loss, the bending rigidity of polyester fabric treated with C.D.R slightly higher than that of the tank type or liquor-flow type. On the other hand, below 6.5% weight loss, the shear rigidity of the warp and weft of the treated fabric rapidly decreased. But with the increase in the above 6.5% rate of weight loss, the decreasing tendency of the shear rigidity declined. At same rate of the weight loss, the shear rigidity of fabric treated with tank type nearly equal to the that of the liquor flow type. But at same rate of the weight loss, the shear rigidity of the fabric treated with C.D.R type higher than that of the tank or liquor-flow type.

For this purpose, 12 kinds of satin and 18 kinds of plain weave fabrics are prepared with change of the physical properties of weft yarn(T.P.M., density, and denier). The weight reduction rate was 0%, 12%, 25%, and 30%. Coefficient of friction(MIU), mean deviation of friction(MMD), and geometrical roughness(SMD) of the fabrics were measured and discussed with wed twist, yarn linear density, weft fabric density and weave structures.

  • In order to make a silk-like polyester fabric, polyester fabrics were treated with a several weight reduction machines such as tank type, liquor flow type and C.D.R at the field condition. The results were as followings : The weft density of treated polyester fabric showed different tendency according to the used the weight reduction machine and the rate of weight loss. Namely, at 6.5% weight loss, the weft density of fabric treated with tank and liquor flow type increased by 1 pick/inch and 2 picks/inch, respectively, and decreased by 4 picks/inch in case of treated with C.D.R type. With the increase in the rate of weight loss, the air permeability of treated fabric increased, and the K/S value of dyed fabric decreased. The overall tendency of the air permeability and the K/S value of treated polyester fabric increased in the order of the tank type, liquor-flow type and C.D.R type. The tensile strength of polyester fabric treated with C.D.R had lower value than that of the other type. It is assumed that this result is attributed the decreasing of the cross point of the warp and weft direction.

  • The purpose of this study was to present a making method of jeans pattern with high fitness after deriving the appropriate shrinkage rate by material and washing process. According to the result of the exterior evaluation of test jeans, all 6 jeans were rated high with scores close to 3.5. Following the evaluation of satisfaction of usage by physical movement, the highest ranking was in the order of walking with normal steps, back bending $90^{\circ}$, chair sitting, climbing stairs and squatting. The shrinkage rate by physical area showed the highest score in the order of pants length, waist circumference, thigh circumference, knee circumference, hem circumference, hips circumference. In addition, the shrinkage rate was higher in warp direction than weft direction after washing finishing. As for the result of addition and reduction of pattern measurements by parts of jeans, waist circumference was $3.1{\sim}5.1cm$, hips circumference was $-1.2{\sim}4.2cm$, thigh circumference was $-0.9{\sim}3.1cm$ and pants length was $3.4{\sim}6.1cm$. That is, this results showed a wide range of addition and reduction according to material and washing finishing.
