Empirical Data Analysis of a Social Network Name-Directory Service with Advertisements (광고를 동반한 소셜 네트워크 이름-디렉터리 서비스의 실험적 데이터 분석)

  • With the evolution of Internet technologies and the increasing variety of Internet devices, advertisements in various web services have also expanded. Interactive web services often go hand in hand with effective advertisements for a business model. We estimated statistical parameters of the interactive web server for service monitoring and advertisement-effect. In the web pages, we integrated the plugins of social networking services (SNSs) (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) and an advertisement scheme (e.g. Google AdSense) that regards social name-directory contents. Empirical data analysis and statistical results are presented with the implementation of estimations of parameters (e.g. utilization-level and serviceability) and advertisements in a social networking name-directory service (http://ktrip.net or http://한국.net). We found that estimated parameters were applicable to service monitoring of web-server as well as to synthesis of advertisement-effect in our social-web name-directory service.

  • Web-based learning is currently an active area of research and a considerable number of studies have been conducted on its application in the learning environment. However, in spite of many advances in the research and development of the educational contents, questions about how the environment affects learning remains largely unanswered. In this article, we propose a Web-based learning environment to improve the educational effect. The goal of this article is not to provide a complete system to support Web-based learning but rather to describe some meaningful strategies and fundamental design concepts that utilize information technologies to support teaching and learning.

  • To maintain users' sessions through web browsers, a web server needs facilities for authenticating users and managing their information. Those facilities enable a web server to keep the states of the users, providing services distinguished by the states. As of now, those facilities are provided through non-standardized technologies, leading to the repeated development of similar functionalities through many web programers. In this paper, to solve the problem, we define a new session class containing the information on a user, and present a design and implementation of the Java servlet classes which supply the facilities for authenticating users, managing their sessions, and controling web services according to the groups they belong to. These servlet classes work on any web servers supporting Java servlet such as JavaServer, Apache, and IIS.

  • With the development of mobile and wireless environments, the Ubiquitous era has com on the base of technologies of Semantic Web and Web Services. To accelerate proliferation of the E-Commerce in the Ubiquitous era, the importance of information search is emphasized more and more and its time to need more intelligent search for product and service which can consider location and other context-aware related information. As a starting point to meet these requirements, we proposed more effective product information search service framework through web services under semantic web environment. Over the wireless internet and we also examined its technical validity with the prototype system, implemented prototype and investigated the technological possibility.

  • Due to the development of Internet and networking technologies, it is much more easier to get in touch with public service through the web services such as tax, travel information, getting a job, etc. In order to measure the quality of official government web sites, we are to test the difference between the web quality of the government sites and the offline feature of the same official service by means of customer perspectives. The resulting of this study show that the quality of official web site has been improved so far though such areas as privacy, security needed to be updated. Especially the web interface or contact point of the digital media should be reflected customer's need so that the online materials may be quickly updated according to the request of client's.

  • Web mining is an emerging science of applying modem data mining technologies to the problem of extracting valid, comprehensible, and actionable information from large databases of web in e-Business environment and of using it to make crucial e-Business decisions. In this paper, we present the noble framework of data visualization system based on web mining for analyzing the characteristics of on-line customers in e-Business. We also propose the framework of forecasting system for providing the forecasting information of sales/purchase through the use of web mining based on artificial intelligence techniques such as back-propagation network, memory-based reasoning, and self-organizing map.

  • Web Services are rapidity becoming the enabling technology of today's e-business and e-commerce systems, and will soon transform the Web into distributed applications. The aim of this paper is to present our approach in applying Web Services into the Internet transaction banking system. The system is integrated among backend system of banks so that each bank system can communicate with each other in order to perform transactions in transferring money from an account in one bank to an account in the partner bank and vise versa. The backend systems of banks are heterogeneous information systems; therefore it is difficult to build a common environment using existing distributed technologies. Web Services provide a means for different organizations to connect their applications with one another to conduct business across a network in a platform and language independent manner [1]. The paper will examine these benefits of Web Services and apply these features into the Internet banking transaction system regardless of platform, programming languages as well as existing backend system of banks.

  • Since the amount of available Web Services keeps growing and thus the problem occurs - how to find an appropriate web service matching the requirements amongst the vast majority of available. This research sets the following objective to be accomplished: to assist proper service selection by semantically describing customer's goals and provider's web service capability by means of carefully designed ontologies and logical expressions, and illustrate matching cases of customer's requirements and web services capabilities.

  • Recently, organizations intend to adopt new information technology for acquiring relative advantages in competitive business environment. Especially, many companies have paid attention to web-based electronic commerce. But research in this area has largely been performed to the operational and technical aspects of web site. Also the World Wide Web(web) has become one of the most widely used information technologies, but research indicates that there are many firm that are still considering whether to establish a web presence. This study examines factors influencing adoption of corporate web site over time. To examine why companies adopt web site, this study regards web site as an innovation and finds out these reason through Innovation Diffusion Theory. Independent variables of this research are composed of innovation characteristics, organizational characteristics and environmental characteristics. By the result of logistic regression analysis, we find that there are significant differences between early adopters and late adopters of web site for three adoption factors : top management support, organization size, environmental uncertainty. These findings confirm the theoretical frame for adoption of corporate web site. Also this study will provide good guidelines to the companies and the vendors in shaping the strategies of IT adoption and IT diffusion respectively.

  • Using a web browser, real-time video communication technologies are emerging today. In this paper, we studied the web browser and take advantage of real-time video communication technology for Based on this, we have designed and implemented a Web-based real-time video communication systems. In this system, having different web browsers and web servers through a web browser using the RTC API and HTTP / WebSockets in a real-time video communication is possible. It is available at all terminals, all connected by a network environment from the use of the web browser, will be utilized in the field of visual communications in a limited environment.
