Therefore, we analyse the world wide web(web) contents in Korea which are available for climate change education, providing fundamental data in developing educational contents for climate change, as well as helping users to search appropriate contents for climate change education. Subjects for this study are 10 web sites of public institutions related to climate change in Korea. The web contents are evaluated in terms of diversity, accuracy, authenticity and the ease of use. • In this paper, we suggested a model that reflects the role played by the consumer's regulatory focus (promotion focus and prevention focus) as determinant factors of trust in the Web site. Also, we considered the moderating effects of consumers' purchasing experience toward online shopping. We conducted a two-month survey of 230 individuals using online shopping sites for hypotheses testing. The study results are summarized as follows. Firstly, promotion focused consumers showed higher trust to a web site compared to prevention focused consumers. Secondly, the moderating effect of purchasing experience between regulatory focus and consumer trust to a web site is statistically significant. The effect of a prevention focused consumers on consumer trust to a web site is stronger when purchasing experience toward online shopping is high compared to low. Based on these findings, this study presents practical and academic implications of the research.

  • Purpose: The present study purposed to investigate and analyze domestic websites providing information about dementia and to suggest future directions for the development of dementia-related websites. Mothod: For this purpose, the researcher selected 13 domestic websites that were available in November and December 2004, and evaluated them in terms of construction, operation, accessibility and contents on a scale 4 point (0$\~$3). Result: The construction of dementia-related websites got 6$\~$13 out of 18 points, which suggests that management policies for the operation of dementia-related web sites are inadequate. The operation of dementia-related web sites got 7$\~$15 out of 24 points. In particular, all 13 sites got a low score in the aspect of continuance. With regard to accessibility, the sites were evaluated on how easily users could access the sites and they got 2$\~$8 out of 15 points. In evaluating contents, the sites got 9$\~$18 out of 21 points with regard to the purpose and appropriateness of the contents. Conclusion: This shows that most sites did not provide diverse types of dementia-related information. Because it is highly advantageous to perform primary dementia-preventing management through websites, this study proposes to develop a website evaluation system in order to provide high quality dementia-related information.

  • With the increasing number and variety of internet users as well as the development of internet technology, web contents have been taking a more comprehensive, integrated, and practical form. This change has brought to our attention the importance of the information architecture and menu design, both of which are required for the users to navigate vast amount of data promptly, correctly and easily for effective communication in the web sites. In this study, web sites were categorized by the service levels provided to the users, and sampling was performed accordingly. Then, information architecture, the layout and the presentation of the menu design were analyzed. The result of the analysis show that there are distinguishable characteristics in how the menus were expressed and designed, and that these characteristics reflect the users' characteristics in the web interface menu design. With the result of this study, we present a guideline for information architecture and web interface menu design, which reflects user characteristics thereby strengthening usability. Using this guideline, we expect the development of web interface design which should support more efficient communication on the web.

  • Users of World Wide Web (Web) experience difficulties in the retrieval of pertinent information due to the increased information provided by Web sites and the complex structure of Web documents that are continuously created, deleted, restructured, and updated. Web providers' efforts to maintain their sites are tend to be less than that of site creation due to the expenses required for maintenance. If information of relationship among Web documents and their validity is provided to Web managers as well as Web developers, they can better serve users. In order to grasp the whole structure of a Web site and to verify the validity of hyperlinks, traversal and analysis of hyperlinks in a Web document are required to provide information for effective and efficient creation and maintenance of the Web. In this paper, we introduce a Web Editor specialized for Web maintenance. We emphasized on two aspects: first, the analysis of HTML Tags to extract hyperlink information and second, establishment of the relationship among hyperlinked documents, and verification of the validity of them.
