A Study on Web Service Security (웹 서비스 보안기술에 관한 연구)

  • Web service technology will be used in various business fields and it will affect business paradigms. But, however, there is no standard so far and we have many problems to be solved in order to insure interoperability and security. Especially we have to solve Web service security for effective utilization of the technology and otherwise, the technology will not be used in the business field. We, therefore, need to develope security technology which fits to the Web service characteristics. This document describes a proposed strategy for addressing security within a Web service environment based on the results of analysis on the Web service security problems.

  • E-Government service is national project that is necessary for international competitiveness, openness of government and effectiveness of governmental work process. E-Government security is very important because it treats data has relatively high sensitivity. But, until now, the development point of E-Government service has been limited to only it's contents and infrastructure based on web without consideration of E-Government security. Lately research for E-Government security has been studied by some advanced country of E-Government service, but it is insufficient. To construct E-Government security based on web Infra, first of all, analysis of web service security technology is needed to precede. And then research for appling the technology to E-Government service are required. We propose secure E-Government service scenario with web service security technology based on development stages of E-Government service. We also suggest overall view and secure scenario of E-Government service in Integrated Computing Environment.

  • Company A's core competency is IT internet security services. The Web diagnosis team analyzes the vulnerability of customer's internet web servers and provides remedy reports. Traditionally, Company A management has utilized a simple table format report for resource planning. But these reports do not notify the timing of human resource commitment. So, upper management asked its team leader to organize a task team and design a visual dashboard for decision making with the help of outside professional. The Task team selected the web security diagnosis practice process as a pilot and designed a dashboard for performance evaluation. A structural design process was implemented during the heuristic working process. Some KPI (key performance indicators) for checking the productivity of internet web security vulnerability reporting are recommended with the calculation logics. This paper will contribute for security service management to plan and address KPI design policy, target process selection, and KPI calculation logics with actual sample data.

  • As the Internet has been growing, WWW(World Wide Web) based services were popularized and users using the service were increased excessively. Recently, the instances of communications between the applications and interaction applications using the Web services in the implementation of the business logics among the enterprises are spread widely. Therefore, it has been emphasized quality and security of web services. In this paper, we described standard trends for web servises. And we analyzed the security policies to protect user's informations. Eventually, We described a security enhancement method for web service.

  • Grid web applications by standard Web technology are increasingly used to provide grid service to users as normal Web user interface and service. It is however difficult to integrate a grid security system such as Grid Security Infrastructure (GSI) into Web applications because the delegation way of standard Web security is not the same as the one of Grid security. This can be solved by allowing Web applications to get a Grid credential by using an online credential repository system such as MyProxy. In this paper, we investigate the problem that occurs when MyProxy, which assumes mutual trust between a user and Grid web application, is adapted for achieving security integration between Web and Grid, and we propose a new Grid proxy delegation service to delegate a Grid credential to the Web without assuming mutual trust. In the service, the X.509 proxy delegation process is added to OAuth protocol for credential exchange, and authentication can be done by an external service such as OpenID. So, users can login onto the Grid web application in a single sign-on manner, and are allowed to securely delegate and retrieve multiple credentials for one or more Virtual Organizations.

  • Other server based-application and the need of more complex interaction is required with functional strengthening and variational uses of mobile device. And mobile environments make a problem of continuous of web-service by making a problem of instance cutting between web-server and mobile device which acts as a client because of mobility. Therefore, this paper embodies a framework which keeps security and connectivity between HTTP based web-service and mobile device, and is for connection to web-service of mobile device which uses WAP in a standard protocol based mobile environment of mobile web-service for continuous web-service. This paper is analyzed in the same standard condition to compared functional delay which is based on HTTP and WAP access, and data transmission volume. Also it investigates improvement of execution overhead which is brought by interaction process.

  • As information technology had shown tremendous development in late 20th century, various service opportunities appeared in many industries. Also, new types of service are becoming available such as, reservation, teleconsultation, telemedicine. In health care industry, in which, many hospitals are faced operational difficulties and competing impetuously, a web site has become a effective tool to attract patients and transfer tremendous health information to the patients. This study is based on many previous researches on online service quality, try to figure out e-service quality factors of health information sites, and the factors' effect on users' satisfaction on the web site via providing knowledge and trust on the web site. As a result, usability, site aesthetic, responsiveness and security are the 4 factors to measure e-service quality of health information web site. All factors except site aesthetic have significant effects on providing knowledge, security only effects on trust on the web site.

  • XKMS(XML Key Management Specification), one of XML Security specification, defines the protocol for distributing and registering public keys for verifying digital signatures and enciphering XML documents of web service applications with various and complicate functions. In this paper, we propose XML Key Information protocol service model and implements reference model of protocol component based on standard specification. Also describes the analysis and security method of Key Information Service(XKIS) for Secure XML Web Service,paying attention to the features of XML based security service. This protocol component supported includes public key location by given identifier information, the binding of such keys to edentifier information. This reference model offers the security construction guideline for future domestric e-Business Frameworks.
