Nephila clavata, a golden orb-web spider, was studied at two different field sites with respect to web size, height, and orientation. A majority of spiders at Site 1 (a band of shrub bush) built their webs parallel or nearly parallel to the edge of the bush. Similarly, at Site 2 (near a pond), most webs were aligned with the shoreline of the pond. Among the possible determining factors for the observed patterns of web orientation, wind and light did not appear important. Instead, the movement direction of insect prey appeared largely responsible. Disproportionately more webs faced outside the bush and toward the pond than inside the bush and away from the pond at Site 1 and 2, respectively. Such trend was more apparent for larger spiders with larger webs.

A mathematical tension model for a moving web in a multi-span web handling system was derived and validated by using a simulator which includes unwinder, driven roller, winder, load cells, controllers, etc. A tension controller was designed to compensate tension disturbances generated by velocity changes of the unwinder and driven roller. From experimental results it was proved that the tension model properly expressed the tension behavior of a moving web for specific conditions. The distributed tension controller designed by using the pole-placement technique compensated the tension disturbances transfered from upsteram tension variation. Interactions between web spans including "tension transfer phenomenon" were clearly confirmed through the study. A mathematical model of lateral motion of a moving web was verified also by using the same experimental apparatus which includes displacement type guidance systems. And a feedforward control strategy was designed for more accurate control of the lateral motion of a moving web, which utilize a measured signal of the lateral displacement of web in a previous span and a more correctly identified mathematical model to estimate the disturbance of lateral motion from the previous span. This approach was turned out to be effective in improving the performance of the guidance system for more wide range disturbances.

The challenges facing manufacturing companies today span across the industry, independent of company size or product. Especially, big manufacturers must overcome these challenges, and information technology (IT) collaboration with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will play a major role in this effort. In this research, the strategy and way to promote IT collaboration between SMEs and large firms in heavy industries are proposed. A pre-consultation was performed to derive the strategy and way for the collaboration, and an IT collaboration system was developed reflection the results of pre-consultation. The IT collaboration system consists of two parts. One is ERP based on BPM for SMEs to standardize and visualize the entire business process from order placement to release. This system also provides their parent company with visibility into the status of orders and user can easily access the system on the web at a low price through cloud computing service. The other is interface part for data changes between large firms and SMEs. Thus far, this paper demonstrates the importance of strategy for the collaboration, and the applicability of IT collaboration system to elevate the speed and efficiency of business.

We-the-media (aka wedia) is a concept where the users of social networking sites, such as Facebook, turn into the broadcasters. This study used the popular application Bitstrips as the experiment tool. Facebook was used as the Wedia platform for publishing designed comics, then used the three elements of Goffman's dramaturgy model-role, scene and dialog-to analyze 265 comics created by 3 researchers and observe the audience's responses within 9 months. The results showed that people want to see a good story with positive dialogue, and prefer scene is school more than work. As all these elements are controllable, Wedia communication has the potential for more applications. We also found that including the elements of news, gambling and gift-giving tended to trigger greater response. Furthermore, We suggesting that such embedding of product information in web episodes (webisodes) with caricature could be a successful marketing strategy.

오늘날 각 대학의 취업률은 대학 등급을 결정짓는 중요한 요소 중의 하나이다. 취업예비생은 원하는 취업정보를 얻기 위해서 온라인 또는 오프라인상의 취업지원 사이트들에서 원하는 취업정보들을 이용하고 있다. 웹기반 취업지원업체들과 각 대학교에서 제공해주는 많은 취업지원시스템들이 있지만, 이들은 취업지원관리 위주가 아닌 취업정보를 알리는 데에 더 중심을 두고 있다. 또한, MOU기업, 산업체 현장실습, 취업 멘토교수 등과 관련된 업무 프로세스를 지원해주는 기능과, 각 기업들이 원하는 학생들의 정보(이력서, 자기소개서 등)와 학생들이 원하는 기업들의 정보를 지속적으로 업데이트해주고 관리해주는 기능도 부족하다. 따라서 취업관련 초기 데이터(학생 및 기업정보)의 저장에서부터 취업관리까지 지원해주는 취업지원관리시스템이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 취업지원시스템의 기능에 권한별 취업관리 기능을 고려하였고, 스마트 폰에서도 취업정보를 실시간으로 수신할 수 있으며, 학사정보시스템과 연계된 시스템의 설계 및 구축안을 제시하였다.
