  • Today, Web Services is very well-known as a middle-ware that can inter-communicate between many different program languages. This paper test web services by implementing two different web services platforms which are MS .NET based server and Apache AXIS based client. Those platforms have different data structure/process, and they could not give the developer seamless data compatibility through web services. However we confirmed that handling data, by some data transforming rules, web services can successfully inter-communicate between MS .NET based server and Apache AXIS based client.

  • The World Wide Web is a dynamic collection of pages that includes a huge number of hyperlinks and huge volumes of usage informations. The resulting growth in online information combined with the almost unstructured web data necessitates the development of powerful web data mining tools. Recently, a number of approaches have been developed for dealing with specific aspects of web usage mining for the purpose of automatically discovering user profiles. We analyze sequence data, such as web-logs, protein sequences, and retail transactions. In our approach, we propose the clustering algorithm for sequence data using rough set theory. We present a simple example and experimental results using a splice dataset and synthetic datasets.

  • The study of Web MGIS(Marine Geographic Information System) based on the SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) is mainly performed on effective methodologies which transform real world data to computing world data. Web GUI system has its own target on reliable data service by acquisition of geometric information using HYCOM(HYbrid Coordinate Ocean Model), accurate measurement and graphical visualization. This type of raw data visualization can be built without software tools, yet is incredibly useful for interpreting and communicating data. Even simple visualizations can aid in the interpretation of complex hydrodynamic relationships that are frequently encountered in the marine environment. The Web MGIS provides an easy way for hydrodynamic geoscientists to construct complex visualizations that can be viewed with free software. This study proposes a Web GUI MGIS using FVCOM(Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model). Finally, we design a Marine Web GUI system of Kosrae Coastal Waters integrating above data models. It must adds more ecological information and the various service item for approach more easily in order to user.

  • A web-based program was developed for analyzing weather and structure data from the HeMOSU-1 offshore meteorological mast installed by the KEPCO Research Institute, and 35 km west-southwestward away from Gyeokpo located in Jeonbuk province. All of the measured data are obtained through the data transmitter and the server systems equipped on the HeMOSU-1 and the aerodynamic laboratory in Chonbuk National University respectively. The dualised server system consists of two servers, one is for logging the 1 second based raw data with 10 minute averaged values, and the other is for managing web page with processed weather data. Daily or weekly 10-min averaged data can be provided based on the input date by users. Processed weather data such as wind rose, Weibull distribution, diurnal distribution, turbulence intensity according to wind speed, wind energy density, and so forth are visualized through the web page which would be both useful and informative for developing the wind farm or designing a wind blade for the wind farm nearby southwest sea around the Korean Peninsula. The URL for this web page is http://www.hemosu.org/.

  • Various phenomenon can be expressed numerically and collected as a data due to rapid development of the computer. In particular large set of data is collected in various fields. We can obtain the information for final decision based on analysis and interpretation of the data. The issue is the management of the data as well as the importance of the data. So a system which stores the data in server and prints out the data to web browser is demanded. We uploaded the file of Excel form to server database and developed a web based program which can show the uploaded data through web based database. We used the Oracle DB for uploading and web programming language such as html, JAVA, JSP for querying the data. Finally, we developed a program for web based clinical data management system construction.

  • Web GIS (Geographic Information Systems) service systems provide the various GIS services of analyzing and displaying the spatial data with friendly user-interface. These services are expanding the business domain and many users want to access the distributed various spatial data. But, it is difficult to access diverse data sources because of different spatial data format and data access methods. In this paper, we design and implement web GIS services based on the inter-operability and GML (Geography Markup Language) of OGC(Open GIS Consortium) in web distributed environment. Inter-operability provides unique accessing method to distributed data sources based on OLE DB technology of Microsoft. In addition, GML support web GIS services based on XML. We design these GIS services as components using UML (Unified Modeling Language) of an object-oriented modeling language for specifying, visualizing, constructing, and documenting the artifacts of software system. In addition, they also were developed in object-oriented computing environment, and it provides the interoperability, language-independent, easy developing environment as well as re-usability.

  • Customers' fixed characteristics have often been used to predict customer behavior. It has recently become possible to track customer web logs as customer activities move from offline to online. It has become possible to collect large amounts of web log data; however, the researchers only focused on organizing the log data or describing the technical characteristics. In this study, we predict the decision-making time until each customer makes the first reservation, using Airbnb customer data provided by the Kaggle website. This data set includes basic customer information such as gender, age, and web logs. We use various methodologies to find the optimal model and compare prediction errors for cases with web log data and without it. We consider six models such as Lasso, SVM, Random Forest, and XGBoost to explore the effectiveness of the web log data. As a result, we choose Random Forest as our optimal model with a misclassification rate of about 20%. In addition, we confirm that using web log data in our study doubles the prediction accuracy in predicting customer behavior compared to not using it.

  • This paper analyzes techniques that extract objective information from distributed web databases for bioinformatics based on relationship among information. Moreover, we discuss the design and implementation of a method for knowledge enhancement in respect of protein information. Web data extractor can be constructed by using a manual, semi-automatic, or automatic way. Data extractor generally makes use of identifiers in order to search and extract targeting information from a specified web page. This paper presents a design and implementation for the protein databases of an organism by utilizing web data extraction techniques.

  • Web mining is an emerging science of applying modem data mining technologies to the problem of extracting valid, comprehensible, and actionable information from large databases of web in e-Business environment and of using it to make crucial e-Business decisions. In this paper, we present the noble framework of data visualization system based on web mining for analyzing the characteristics of on-line customers in e-Business. We also propose the framework of forecasting system for providing the forecasting information of sales/purchase through the use of web mining based on artificial intelligence techniques such as back-propagation network, memory-based reasoning, and self-organizing map.

  • Generally data loading is a laborous job to develop models. Meteorological data is basic input data for hydrological models, it is provided through websites of Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). The website of KMA provides daily meteorological observation data with tabular format classified by years, items, stations. It is cumbersome to manipulate tabular format for model inputs such as time series and multi-item or multi-station data. The provider oriented services which broadcast restricted formed information have caused inconvenient processes. Tim O'Reilly introduces "Web 2.0" which focuses on providing a service based on data. The top ranked IT companies such as google, yahoo, daum, and naver provide customer oriented services with Open API (Application Programming Interface). A RESTful web service, typical implementation for Open API, consists URI request and HTTP response which are simple and light weight protocol than SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol). The aim of this study is to develop a web-based service that helps loading data for human use instead of machine use. In this study, the developed RESTful web service provides Open API for manipulating meteorological data. The proposed Open API can easily access from spreadsheet programs, web browsers, and various programming environments.
