For analyzing a huge amount of web pages available in the Internet, we need to extract the encoded information in web pages. In this paper, we propose a method to extract and convert web information from web pages into XML documents for multidimensional analysis. For extracting information from web pages, we propose two languages: one for describing web information extraction rules based on the object-oriented model, and another for describing regular expressions of HTML tag patterns to search for target information. For multidimensional analysis on XML documents, we propose a method for constructing an XML warehouse and various XML cubes from it like the way we do for relational data. Finally, we show the validness of our method through the application to US patent web pages.

Web technology for next generation, led by W3C, is focusing on overcoming of limitation of Human-oriented Web. With circumstance of dramatic increasing information flow in current existing Web, human view based HTML technology is significantly loosing its value. To overcome limitation of Human-oriented Web, new alternative method is essentially required In this context, Machine-oriented Web which machine is searching for information, has been researched as a new alternative. This thesis reviewed MDL (Meaning Definition Language) which is regarded as most generally using method for implementation of Machine-Oriented Web, and presented modeling concept and implementation method in detail. To verify tile value of this presented implementation method, this thesis includes actual cases which has based on proposed implementation method. As an end, we have tried to give a technical assistance to developer of MDL Editor by suggesting MDL Editor implementation display, which has been founded on the proposed modeling method.

In the Web, the data is generally gathered automatically by Web servers and collected in server or access logs. However, as users access larger and larger amounts of data, query response times to extract information inevitably get slower. A method to resolve this issue is the use of summary tables. In this short note, we design a prototype of summary tables that can efficiently extract information from Web log data. We also present the relative performance of the summary tables against a sampling technique and a method that uses raw data.

Recently, web server hacking is trending toward web application hacking which uses comparatively vulnerable web applications based on open sources. And, it is possible to hack databases using web interfaces because web servers are usually connected databases. Web application attacks use vulnerabilities not in web server itself, but in web application structure, logical error and code error. It is difficult to defend web applications from various attacks by only using pattern matching detection method and code modification. In this paper, we propose a method to secure the web applications based on profiling which can detect and filter out abnormal web application requests.

WebShell is a web script file created by a hacker to remotely commands to a web server. The hacker can bypass the security system using the web shell, access the system, control the system such as file modification, copying and deletion, install malicious code in the web source code, attack the user's PC, And so on. There are many types of WebShell attack, but we study about attacks on PHP and JSP based web server which are used as representative ones. And we propose the method of web page management, method of development, and several other methods. By using these countermeasures, it is possible to effectively prevent damage caused by WebShell attacks.

The research on applying of Typography has been active in a Monitor-environment, and the results have been used in designs. But editing design in imaginary space in the Web environment is still using the applying way in the program's allowed extent instead of editing design for print outs. In this treatise. we will look into appropriate method to apply typography under the Web environment through research, and limitation of applying typography as a method to apply typography into the Web environment appropriately, and discuss the alternative for it.

It is difficult that we collect only target documents from the Innumerable Web documents. One of solution to the problem is that we select target documents on the Web site which services many documents of target domain. In this paper, we will propose an intelligent crawling method collecting needed documents based on URL pattern script defined by XML. Proposed crawling method will efficiently apply to the sites which service structuralized information of a piece with database. In this paper, we collected 50 thousand Web documents using our crawling method.

In order to investigate information seeking behavior of web search users, this study analyzes transaction logs posed by users of NAVER, a major Korean Internet search service. We present a session definition method for Web transaction log analysis, a way of cleaning original logs and a query classification method. We also propose a query term definition method that is necessary for Korean Web transaction log analysis. It is expected that this study could contribute to the development and implementation of more effective Web search systems and services.

The rapid development of information and communication technologies has resulted in rapid increase in the qualitative and quantitative information that can be accessed by information technology. Furthermore an enormous amount of information is provided in various formats. However, there are a group of people who are not able to even approach to targeted information due to physical or environmental problems. Visually handicapped users constitute a class of these users. In this paper, a method of developing user interface for web-based education service is described for the visually handicapped users to access information more efficiently. First, this paper analyzed the problems of visually handicapped users to access information targeting representative domestic sites that supply education services. And based on the results of the above analyses, Nest, this paper explains the web-based education service interface implementation method according to types of the content to be delivered. Lastly, the validity of this method is provided by testing a web page based on the implementation method according to the types of content.
