Hybrid Internet Business Model using Evolutionary Support Vector Regression and Web Response Survey

  • Currently, the nano economy threatens the mass economy. This is based on the internet business models. In the nano business models based on internet, the diversely personalized services are needed. Many researches of the personalization on the web have been studied. The web usage mining using click stream data is a tool for personalization model. In this paper, we propose an internet business model using evolutionary support vector machine and web response survey as a web usage mining. After analyzing click stream data for web usage mining, a personalized service model is constructed in our work. Also, using an approach of web response survey, we improve the performance of the customers' satisfaction. From the experimental results, we verify the performance of proposed model using two data sets from KDD Cup 2000 and our web server.

  • Among the mainstream of this society has quickly adopted computer technology as part of their daily life, the ever growing group of elderly people, which will increase from 7% of the population in 2000 to being 14% just 18 years later, has been being exposed to computer using environment more than ever before. According to the survey of Korean government in 2005, the number of the elderly using computer has been rising actually, so web-based survey to identify housing needs of the elderly seems to have lots of possibilities as a useful tool for them. This study aims at comparing web-based survey tool with paper-based one, developed to identify the elderly needs on digital home planning. Experimental method and in-depth interview were employed. The participants were divided into 2 groups, web-based and paper-based survey group. Each group was controlled over by age (average 60 years old), gender and computer skill. As a results, web-based survy tool was revealed as effective to clearer understanding and causing more interests and more available, but less easy to handle than paper-based survey one. Through the in-depth interview, web-based survey tool was identified as a more effective method to figure out the needs of the elderly who are familiar with computer.

의사소통능력 신장을 위한 웹 기반 영어 수업: 쓰기를 중심으로 (Web-Based English Instruction for Increasing Communicative Competence: Focused on Writing.)

  • The purpose of this paper is to show that Web-Based English Instruction (WBEI) focused on writing is effective in learning English in Korea. To investigate the effectiveness of WBEI, a survey was conducted to the experimental group after WBEI and a test was taken to compare the difference of the score of the experimental group and control group. According to the survey, almost all students thought that WBEI was a most effective way to improve communicative competence by exchanging electronic mails with native speakers. The test showed that the experimental group's score was somewhat low in comparison with the control group's in pre-test, but the former groups' was rather higher than the control groups' in post-test. This study also suggests that we should develop more effective Web-based English teaching-learning methods to activate WBEI in our classroom.

The Application of English Learning Activities based on the Technologies of Web 2.0

  • Due to the development of technology even in learning and education area, many studies have begun to make a new attempts to research by using SNS, breaking away from traditional learning methods. However, the limitations of these studies are restricted only to the use of wireless Internet and writing on Web sites. This study aims to conduct a research on English learning activities that utilize various technologies such as Bigdata, Facebook, Social Network Services (SNS) and English applications. In addition, this study looks into how these modern technologies can be integrated in the classrooms and which activities can be applied in the English classroom. This research is to suggest effective English learning methods through a thorough investigation on the effectivity of various technologies based on the Web 2.0 such as Flickr, blogs, MySpace, and online discussion board within the context of the English learning. To verify the effect of the study, the subjects are divided into experimental and control group. The experiment is proceeded with pre- and post-test. The experimental group is designed to verify the effects using SNS tools such as Facebook, Bigdata, and Online Massive Learning. A survey is conducted to determine the preference of utilizing social networking sites and to analyze the effects in class. The result is that the average scores for experimental group have improved more than the average of control group. The comparison of pre and post-test of the experimental group shows that the significance of the higher and median group was statistically significant at the p<0.01.

The Linkage Between Issue Ownership Perception and Campaign Advertising: A Case Study of the 2012 Taiwan Presidential Election

  • Assuming that a political party has a strong incentive to gain votes via issue setting as part of its campaign strategy, this study utilized a Web experimental survey to explore the extent to which three issue-related campaign advertising strategies - namely, issue ownership, issue convergence, and issue trespassing - affected voters' perceptions toward parties' issue-handling capabilities. Our empirical results show that issue ownership perceptions exist in Taiwan. In the 2012 Taiwan presidential election, as issue ownership advertisements may reinforce voters' beliefs regarding parties' issue-handling capabilities, issue trespassing advertising may improve a party's image on the disadvantageous issue dimension. At least our data shows that the Kuomintang's (KMT) advertisements have both effects.

비주얼 인터데브를 이용한 웹 데이터베이스 통합 개발 사례 (A case study on the integrated development of web programming with database using visual interdev)

  • 본 연구는 웹서버와 비주얼 인터데브를 각각 서버, 클라이언트의 개념적 툴로 사용해서 인터넷이나 인트라넷상에서 웹 애플리케이션을 개발하는 방법과 이 애플리케이션에 데이터베이스를 동적으로 통합하는 사례를 보임으로써 데이터베이스 정보를 다루는 파일과 웹 페이지를 다루는 파일을 각각 따로 개발하지 않고도 비주얼 인터데브를 이용하면 하나의 통합환경 안에서 쉽고도 강력한 동적 웹데이터베이스를 개발할 수 있다는 사례를 보이고 향후 보다 적은 코딩 작업으로 보다 더 쉽게 웹 프로그램을 개발할 수 있는 기법과 원리를 제공하고자 함에 그 목적이 있다.

디지털 논리회로의 개념학습을 위한 웹기반 교육용 자바 애플릿의 설계와 만족도 조사 (Design of a Web-based Java Applet for Conceptual Learning in Digital Logic Circuits and its Student Satisfaction Survey)

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 논리회로의 개념학습을 위한 교육용 자바 애플릿을 설계방법을 제안하고 그에 대한 교육적인 유효성을 입증하기 위하여 학생 만족도 조사를 실시하였다. 제안된 교육용 자바 애플릿을 통하여 학습자들은 디지털 논리회로 실험과 관련된 개념과 원리, 가상실험장비, 그리고 가상 브레드 보드의 동작방법을 학습할 수 있다. 제안된 교육용 자바애플릿은 5개의 주요한 요소 즉, 디지털 논리회로의 동작에 대한 개념과 원리를 설명하는 원리학습실, 학습자들에게 웹기반 시뮬레이터를 제공하는 시뮬레이션 학습실, 오프라인 실험교육의 강의계획서에 대한 상호작용성이 있는 자바 애플릿을 제공하는 가상실험 학습실, 평가와 관리시스템으로 구성되어 있다. 모든 학습실은 학습효율의 극대화를 위하여 서로 유기적으로 결합되어 있다. 마지막으로 높은 학습에 대한 기준, 전체 실험시간의 단축, 실험장비의 손상율의 감소와 같은 긍정적인 결과를 얻었다.

  • This study explores factors to facilitate web-based collaborative learning and the effect of learning, based on the PBL(Problem Based Learning) from the constructivist approach in e-learning. A research model, using the key variables such as situations, interactions, and systems, was developed. In order to test this proposed model, experimental design and post-survey was conducted to the learners who took on-line and off-line course with team project. In the research model, situation category was divided into instructor's support, unstructured problem, and self-directed learning. Interaction category was divided into three factors; 'interaction between learners', 'interaction between learner and instructor', and 'interaction between learner and technology'. System category was divided into.monitoring and incentives. As a result, it was found that collaborative learning can be improved by situations, interactions, and systems, and the effectiveness of learning can be improved by situations and interactions in PBL.

  • 본 연구는 마이크로소프트사가 개발한 ActiveX 콘트롤 기술을 이용하여 동적인 홈페이지를 제작하는 사례를 설계하고 구현 해 봄으로써 ActiceX 콘트롤의 사용가치와 이의 활용방안을 알아보고자 함에 있다. 이를 위해 첫째, 비주얼베이직과 자바를 이용한 웹 프로그래밍 기술과 ActiveX 콤포넌트의 기능을 알아보고 둘째, 웹 프로그래밍의 역사와 ActiveX 프로그램과의 관련성과 현재 대두되고 있는 XML웹서비스기술과의 비교를 통하여 웹 프로그래밍기술을 이해하고 셋째, ActiveX 콘트롤 패드를 이용하여 실제로 동적 홈페이지를 구성하는 사례를 설계하고 구현해 봄으로써 이의 활용가치를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구결과 자바 애플릿에 대응하는 기술로 마이크로소프트가 OLE기술을 확장하여 만든 ActiveX 콘트롤은 프로그램의 재사용, 개발시간단축과 프로그램의 기능과 품질향상에 기여하여 인터넷 내지 인트라넷용 프로그램개발 등에 쉽게 이용될 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었으나 플랫폼 독립적이지 못하고 윈도우에서만 사용가능 한 제한점을 보여주었다.
